Jordan would be using his daggers for this particular spar; however, while he waited for Al to show up, he had summoned Ferros and was methodically destroying a line of dummies. It was a good warmup. And you want him to see me in action even if you're not using me on him, Ferros snickered. That too. Jordan grinned, feeling Ferros smiling in his head, every bit as wickedly amused.

Al was on the field hunting for the other two trainees to try and take winner, what he wasn't expecting to find however was Jordan murdering dummies with a massive hammer. He watched in astonishment - from a safe place well out of range. Where he was keen to stay.

A flicker of familiar red in his peripheral vision caught Jordan's attention, and he shouldered Ferros and turned. Yeah, that was Al, and that was Rep's old scarf. Jordan waved to the trainee, modulating his grin to something merely friendly. "Hey," he called. "I was hoping to see you out here. You said something about a spar?"

What he said was not with you, what he was thinking at the time was hell no not with you, what he was thinking right now was noooo ******** way in hell. But, still, this was the fiance of his teacher so to speak. He couldn't be rude.
Al approached slowly and warily, "I uh... was looking for Tucker and Heidi."

"I haven't seen them." Jordan shook his head. "That reminds me - I haven't introduced you. This is Ferros," he said, and patted the barrel of the huge hammer. "He was an iron dragon."
The crackle pattern on Ferros's barrel glowed briefly brighter in response.

Yeah no, Al did not want to know Ferros any better as a weapon than that. "Pleasure to... meet you... Ferros." Okay, that was it. Any more than that and he's going to run back to his room to hide under his furs.

Jordan's smile quirked slightly, and he unsummoned Ferros, letting the weapon return to his ring form. "What's your weapon like?" he prompted gently.

Al let out a sudden breath of relief as Ferros was put away, "Well... Nuru is a... he's a staff and um." He moved to summon the staff to his hands in question. "He said he was a barghest."

"That's a ghost type, if I'm remembering right," Jordan nodded, taking a good look at the staff. "Nice. Any idea what his specialty is yet?"

Al blinked and stared at nuru then looked back at Jordan, "Uh... specialty in what?"

"His charge attack?" Jordan raised an eyebrow. "Did anyone give you the rundown on shields and charges?"

"Oh oh that... he makes fire," He started to sound a little more comfortable but still kept a good distance. "Rep taught me."

"I gotta say, I approve," Jordan said, grinning. "Long range or close combat? Ferros does fire too, but he bursts into flame, so we're still limited to the range of our reach."

"Kinda rangey... he shoots it out, I think," Al has only ever seen it twice after all.

"I'd like to see that. Anyway, the dummies were getting boring. Mind helping me train?" Jordan only paused for a moment before adding, "I'll grab my daggers out of my bag, just a sec." He jogged over to where he'd left his bag and retrieved the sheathed daggers, strapping the belt around his hips as he returned to where Al was standing.
"Ferros isn't exactly optimal for enclosed spaces, so I'm working with some alternate fighting styles as well," he explained cheerfully. "We can't build a charge like this, but it's important for a Sun to be flexible enough to use anything available in a tight situation."
