Muka was not what anyone would call 'academic'. He'd stepped foot in the school library only twice in his whole life time: once when he visited Amityville as a guest visitor, and again the other day for the first time in the two terms he'd been attending the school. He'd run into a couple friends in preparation for an adventure but left only thinking that he should add the library onto his list of haunts. The strix had a habit of lurking around in particular places just to find people he knew. His social skills probably still needed work. The rotund teen was currently strolling through the library's shelves with very little care for the books themselves. He'd drop some, brush others into teetering with his wings, and was currently holding one by the spine and shaking it to see if anything interesting would fall out. The librarian must have been out to the bathroom or something because he hadn't yet been booted from the facility.

Ah, beautiful, peaceful, silent bliss. The library was a safe haven for those who just needed a nice place to relax, enjoy the serenity, and study. Such a wonderful place. It really should have been bigger and properly attended to. Yes, it was likely one of the best places aside from his own room. ...well when there weren't crazed classes ruining it. Still at least that class had sort of taught him of it's existence. Worth it. Totally worth it.
So of course it was common to see the fox demon strolling between shelves for new material to study. Today was like any other. Aside from the fact that he'd been following a mess for a while. And putting it back into order of course. Who kept leaving these books on the floor? He tail was lashing back and forth angrily as he placed another in it's spot gently, dusting it's spine a bit before an ear perked at the noise. Someone was in the next aisle over? Likely the culprit! He speedily walked over toward one of the ends of a shelf and peeked around it. As soon as he had Molan's ears fell low against his head at what he saw.
Book. Abuse. Plain and simple. He didn't need to say it out loud, anyone looking at his face could see what he was thinking. HOW COULD HE BE SO CRUEL TO THAT HELPLESS TOME OF WONDER?
iloveyouDIE Please note the whisker drooping as realization of what is being seen is taken in.

Muka shook the book again, fanning through the pages with his talon nails until a litterbug fluttered out in terror. The strix snapped the bug from the air and crunched on it boredly. He clapped the thick tome shut and pushed it back onto the shelf but as soon as he passed by it, the book teetered and fell over. As he looked up he spotted some white hair and horns and... "Helloooo!" The owl hooted.

What a lovely sight. Really. Totally. Watching someone abuse a book, take a moth(who deserved this fate) and eat it. Well at least the book... was safe. And while it wasn't a terrible meal choice, not one that typically suited Molan's palette. At least make sure something is clean before you eat it.
Ew.
And then he was spotted, realizing that... oh Jack he knew this guy. From gates. It was that guy who tried to blame him for things. Like he'd actually caused that problem. Not that he had a huge issue with the boil, just... he wasn't thrilled either? But still, too late. He'd been noticed and could only take a step back as he briefly glanced around. Because as the book fell again he realized, yes, this was in fact the culprit. "What are you doing?" The disgust with Muka's lack of care was obvious.

"Looking!" Muka giggled and held his stomach. His clothing was all finely tailored to fit over his large stomach and despite the strix's carelessness he was impeccably put together in a full suit, waistcoat, ascot, and his ever famous pointed dress shoes. HIs tattooed hands waggled and flexed with a natural antsy manner. In between words he simply made thrumming, undulating, bird sounds which seemed to emit from his body with no effort. "For anything really.. but I've found a ..hrm.. friend!" Yes Molan. He'd met you once so that means you are automatically friends! "Not quite treasure but could be ah.. an adventure?" He burst into giggles again.

That answer didn't make the most sense of what he'd been doing. "For bugs?" He replied, slowly stepping out from the side of the shelf to try and make his way over. He really did need to save that book. Or perhaps it was just the issue with it making the library a mess that bothered him more, regardless, it needed to be returned to the shelf.
As he cautiously stepped forward it was hard not to notice that, despite his behaviors, it would seem Muka was dressed somewhat akin to those of socialite society. Which did leave the fox a bit confused, it didn't match at all. The boil seemed... eccentric and- oh wait. No. That was entirely normal. The fellow was an oddity like his brother. Great. The realization dawned on the frost demon's face with a frown, and perhaps a bored look. At least it wasn't disgust for once. The answer that the strix came up with as he leaned down to collect the fallen book didn't help at all.
A friend? Oh. Oh no. This guy was one of those people who- and it was already too late as the word continued to slip out of Muka's mouth. If Molan's ears had managed to shift up even an inch to more of a standard posture they sank down again with dread. He wanted no magical adventures through happy rainbow shadow land. Or whatever anyone could come up with. "I'd rather not." To both counts. The whole friend thing, and anything that involved leaving his nice safe, lightning, fire, and shadow free dorm or this library. Really now.

Muka watched Molan pick up the book and tilted his head as if the action were something he'd never seen before. To be honest, he very rarely picked up his own messes until they became impossible to ignore. As the boil rejected his comments he merely grinned and leaned close, "Everybody's doing it.." He held the wide eyed stare and odd grin for just a beat too long before leaning back and giggling at himself. "Everyone is though.." He sniggered as his laughs died down. "Have you heard there's submerged caves full of.. ah.. treasures!" The strix thrust his hands into his pockets and rocked smoothly on his long toed shoes. "Seems like so much work.. yes?" The small talk, so little of it, led Muka to think they were moving on in their blossoming friendship. He stepped forward to clap Molan on the back, resting his hand there, "I'm Muka. Ulmuka Knobwalker but.. just Muka generally. In case you didn't.. ah.. remember!"

There was a mix of genuine concern and confusion on his face as Muka stated, rather frankly, that everyone was doing it. The statement truly took the boil off guard as he tried to wrap his head around it. That was normal for people their age? He really thought it was only in those stupid books his brother read, not...
Well... normal. "Hah?" It wasn't the most intelligible sound as he merely clutched at the book a bit, sort of using it as a shield unintentionally as the Strix continued to speak. He wasn't really threatening, but anyone who was confronted with something that didn't know how to react to would go on a bit of a defensive stance, and well... this was 'normal' they were talking about. Or so it seemed. "I... was not aware." He stated, not entirely sure he cared to be so normal anyway. The library was still better. "It seems like to could end in trouble." Like something his brother would drag him into and he'd end up cleaning up again.
Molan was about to try to edge away as he finished sliding the book back in it's place at that point, only to find his personal area of solitude and peace stepped into a bit. By a friendly whap on the back, which remained where it was much to his displeasure. Which earned Muka something of a stare as the fox stared up at him, ears drooping low again. "Uh. Right." Was he going to bother to remem- wait.
Hold the skellyphone. Wasn't that..."You're a demon?" He honestly didn't take the boil for one, but that last name could only be from that family... unless he was pretending? "...but if you were related to them... I never saw you at the-" And then he hushed the thinking aloud. That was just being rude, he had to keep up that whole image. For family's sake. If his father heard he'd been rude then...

"My father is a demon." His head bobbled in affirmation but he did finally move his hand away and put it back into his pocket. The concept of his own childhood neglect was still an odd one to him. Others would say his growing up was some form of abuse but the strix had no feelings one way or the other that he could discern. "Oh I was not allowed to my father's parties." He snickered through the admission. The strix scratched a talon through his beard thoughtfully. "It was not ah.. prudent for the upkeep of the family reputation." He then brightened, though he was always smiling it was now wider, "But I was invited recently! Perhaps it was simply a coming of age thing, hmm?" Nope. He'd gotten the family name into the papers by being on a Trials team. It was enough to get him acknowledged. "So you are a demon then!" He was happy to hear it. "And you know my family? So you are old blood then? Wonderful!!" Oh yes. He was hugging you now Molan.

And it was beginning to rain down in a giant mess of muck as the Strix started speaking. If his father was a demon, and that would explain the nice manner of dress, he'd have to avoid causing a mess with this fellow. Who seemed not to realize that personal space was part of proper behavior for their kind. Actually watching Muka way to learn why he hadn't even been mentioned at parties. Not that Molan took to talking much there, he did his part and stayed out of the way as needed.
Like a proper son would in sch a situation.
Surprisingly enough though, apparently something had caused a change recently. Fabulous, he'd be at those gatherings now. Even more reason he had to behave, and he was so getting used to being able to blow things off and not fake smiles when he didn't want to. "Ah... that's interesting." Nice was not a word he wanted to take on, but he forced something of a smile at that point. Until he was gathered up in a hug. Then it was lost in a scowl as he fidgeted and attempted to loose himself from the affectionate boil. This was not proper socialite behavior, even if he was the estranged son of a higher class demon. There had to be limits. "Er, yes. Molan Threepwood." He stated, trying to duck out of the hug a bit. "You can let go now."
Today was going to be an exceptionally long day, wasn't it?

"Threepwood.. Threepwood." The hefty boil finally dislodged himself from Molan and stroked his beard as if he was trying to remember. He didn't have a particular sharp memory but the effort counted, right? After a few moment he merely just grinned and nodded. "WONDERFUL." Muka now just stared at Molan. He stood and towered above the boil and stared with his static grin and his unevenly blinking eyes. It was as if he was expecting something to happen, for Molan to do something amazingly impressive. He was also slightly giggling. Never not laughing. Why? No reason. Finally the strix plucked up a book and held it in a way where it was clear he didn't intend on reading it. It just sort of dangled from his talons. "So what do you... hrm.. dooo in here?"

He had to admit. He was, perhaps, a bit offended. It seemed this fellow had no idea who they were. HOW COULD HE NOT KNOW? Still, he kept the eye twitch that wanted to threaten to come out at bay and merely stared, waiting as the fellow tried to recall it. ...that look meant he had no idea. This guy was truly clueless.
And a bit creepy. His rather endless amounts of silent giddiness did start to wear on one in an odd way. A rather pointed grin along with an owlish stare. Molan had to wonder as he looked up, contemplating the fellow further.
Do creeple just run in terror when this guy stands around?
How effective. He might have been a little jealous. Just a little. But no really, he still preferred having a clue above all else. Though he did visibly flinch as the strix picked up the book. Not for fear of the boil, but rather... the way he was holding it. That... that wasn't how you treated such glorious knowledge. He reached out, obviously intending to take the book to safety by default as he replied, not able to hide the tone of disdain from creeping in just a bit. "You study, read, and gain knowledge from the books. Quietly. Neatly." He paused briefly. "In a manner that is not book abuse."'
So Muka should stop harassing the precious.

"Book abuse?" Muka's head tilted and he giggled. It's not like books were alive. They didn't feel if they were mistreated. He shrugged and sort of tossed the book in his hand onto a cart which was resting against the shelves to his right. Material objects had no value to him. The way Muka figured he could just buy another if something got messed up. He was intrigued by this idea of learning from books. He knew all about the concept but could never sit still with the paper long enough to read them. "What have you learned?!" He grabbed Molan's hand and pulled him out of the aisle and right to one of the library tables. Molan was pushed into a chair and Muka slid up beside him, too close, and stared into his face. "Tell me everything." He was very earnest.

Molan was really holding in the disdain as Muka seemed to be letting the idea of mistreating a book wash off him. His eyes trailed along as the thing was literally thrown off to a cart, resisting the urge to try and catch it as it flopped into place. In all honestly he likely had bigger things to worry about, especially as he found a hand slinking around his wrist as he was drug along, away from the books and to a test.
Sat down, sidled up next to, and then given a full on stare from the owl-like man. Enough that Molan found himself inching back in his chair, a fair bit uneasy. Yep. Muka would scare people without even trying. Skill. That was skill. Even if he was being quite friendly and curious about something the demon had a personal interest in, he was just so... overzealous. To a level that left the ice fox wanting to slink away. Both ears drooped a bit as he worked to to keep his face as straight as possible at the inquiry. Muka got points for being direct. "That... would take a long time." He stated slowly, working to slowly see if he could slip away out of the opposite side of the chair.iloveyouDIE I WIN THE DELAY CONTES- wait it wasn't a contest? shoot.... PS I see this GIF a bit as what Muka sorta did. Less headbutt more c'mere~

"I have.. heh.. plenty of time." Muka didn't really realize he was being a creeper. He also didn't totally absorb that Molan's statement was a bit of a dismissal. "But if you'd like to only share.. small amounts?" He giggled. "I prefer hearing to reading. OH! You should read books to me!" Yes Molan. READ TO HIM. Raja *awe of reading skills*
