Dyakida returned home from one of her expeditions, feeling with some relief the familiar doorway of the home tree. It was quiet today, no Teiluj underfoot, no Niebet to taunt her. A good thing to come home to. Things had become a good deal better in recent weeks, and she knew why. She smiled. "Peyla?" The little sprite tapped her arm with a chirp. Yes? What did her Alkidike want? Peyla was a good sprite, yes. "Thank you. You guided me well today." Yes. Dyakida didn't know where she would be without Peyla. She didn't know how she had managed without her little sprite. Peyla was her eyes, and one didn't realize just how important that was until one had had to be without sight for so long. While it was true Peyla didn't speak, Peyla would also bring her things she needed. "You are very good, my Peyla. Lets see if we can't find you a treat..." Dyakida slipped into the kitchen and began feeling among the fruit in the pantry. Peyla was good? Peyla earned a treat? Peyla puffed up in pride. She was a very good sprite, who had done her very important job well. She hovered over Dyakida, mouth watering eagerly. "```" she chirped, diving in as her alkidike uncovered a red berry. Her favorite! Dyakida drew back and smiled, resting on the barrel a moment. Yes. Very good.

Briella was laying in her bed, Amadi dancing around on her stomach. No one was home, Maya and Teiluj had gone out and she had no clue where Elder and Niebet were. She knew that Dyakida had left earlier, but she wasn't sure where she was. Suddenly she heard someone coming home, hoping that it was Dyakida Briella jumped up, pushing Amadi backward. The little sprite started chattering away and then started following Briella when the Alkidike started walking towards the kitchen.
When Amadi spotted Peyla he screeched, grabbing onto Briella's hair. "Amadi calm down." she said trying to pull the little sprite out of her hair, although she didn't want to hurt him so it was kinda hard. "Hello Dyakida." she said laughing as she tried to calm down her sprite. It seemed he wasn't very happy with the presence of the other sprite. Looking at Peyla Briella could see they were colored differently. Perhaps they were different races? Different races that didn't like each other? Or maybe Amadi just was scared that Briella would like this other sprite better. Either way it was pretty funny.

"'''''!" [YOU] Peyla hated Amadi. She hated him. Hated, hated hated him. He was a black sprite, and they were bad! Bad bad bad! She brandished the berry's pit at him like a weapon. "'''''!'''''!'''!!!" [GO AWAY. YOU HAVE YOUR OWN ALKIDIKE. DONT YOU DARE PLAY YOUR PRANKS ON MINE!!!] she shrieked, charging and feinting at him in the air. Dyakida flinched as the screeching hurt her keen ears. "Peyla?!" what on Tendaji was going on? "What are you?! What?" she ducked as the sprite flew over her to challenge the other one. Somewhere in the shrieking she heard Briella's voice. "Briella? Briella, what's happening?"

[I WAS HERE FIRST!!!! THEY ARE ALL MINE HERE! YOU LEAVE!!] Amadi yelled back towards her as he swatted away at the pit. He pulled back at Briella's hair. [I PULL PRANKS ON WHOEVER I PLEASE!!! THIS IS MY TREE, AND THEY ARE ALL MINE!] he screamed back to her. Oh those white sprites were all the same, all so boring and senseless. He didn't try to attack Peyla, he just scream at her and pulled at Briella's hair.
Briella couldn't stop laughing. The pulling didn't hurt, but the shrill noises were attacking her sensitive ears. She had never heard Amadi shriek so loudly. "It seems my dear sister that our sprites don't really care for each other." she said still laughing. Oh this was too much. Watching Amadi fly around avoiding Peyla and still trying to hold on to Briella's hair.

[GO AWAY GET OUT NOBODY LIKES YOU] she threw the pit at him, a rather feeble throw, but she was a sprite- no long throws for her. Instead she went after him with her own four hands. [SHES MINE!] she shrieked, trying to drag him away from the other Alkidike, not caring that she was pulling at the hair more. [NOBODY IS YOURS, NOBODY BELONGS TO YOU, GET OUT AND GO AWAY! PEYLA HAS AN IMPORTANT JOB AND YOU ARE BAD SO GO AWAY]
Dyakida winced and covered her ears. "Peyla... Peyla please stop..." It hurt. It hurt so much. She could feel it in her skull and jaw, stabbing into her head.
Peyla would have complied, but she was too busy attacking the bad sprite to notice her Alkidike's discomfort. Bad sprite was BAD SPRITE and she didn't like him in HER alkidike's house
"Briella... Can you..." she winced again, "CAn you make them stop?"

[THEY LOVE ME! ESPECIALLY MINE AND THE LITTLEST ONE!! YOU GO AWAY!!!] he screamed trying to push her away from Briella while still holding on. [I AM MORE IMPORTANT! I HAVE FUN YOUR JUST PLAIN AND BORING!! LEAVE THEM ALL SO WE CAN BE HAPPY WITHOUT YOU!]
Okay now it was starting to hurt. One sprite pulling on her hair was on thing, but two? Now that wasn't okay. Trying her best Briella attempted to catch each sprite in one hand. She was being careful as not to hurt them or their wings, but she had to get them seprated and that seemed like the best way to do it. "Peyla, Amadi, stop! You are going to both have to leave if you continue acting like this." she threatened.
At once Amadi stopped struggling, Briella had caught him in her right hand and he raised his arms talking, much more quietly then he had before. [she started it...]

[NO!] Peyla shouted, struggling against this other Alkidike who was GRABBING HER of all things!!! [I AM NOT PLAIN AND BORING I HAVE AN IMPORTANT JOB AND YOU ARE RUINING IT. AND YOU STARTED IT!]
Dyakida had had enough. "PEYLA. Stop." She rarely raised her voice, but now she had a headache and... no. Just no. No more shrieking. She didn't know they were fighting, but that wasn't the point. It was just too loud. "I will make you sit in the dark corner. And I won't give you my fruit." she said, relenting. [...] Peyla was not happy, but she relented. Couldn't her Alkidike see that this was a bad sprite and she was trying to do her job. Oh. Wait. Right. Her alkidike could not see. That was why her job was important! She couldn't see the black markings of BAD sprites. Peyla shouldn't have forgotten that. She hung her head in shame, and stopped struggling Dyakida rubbed her ears. "Well." that was interesting. In a terrible way. "So. They are different?" she asked, curious despite herself. "Also, Hello Briella..."

Briella nodded. "In coloring yes, thought not in temperament it seems." Briella let them go when it seemed that they had both calmed down and weren't trying to kill each other. "Peyla has light markings, where Amadi has darker ones. Though who knows what that means. It could be different genders, or maybe different species? Not sure." There was lots to learn about these little sprites. If only they spoke the same language.
At once Amadi stopped struggling, Briella had caught him in her right hand and he raised his arms talking, much more quietly then he had before. [boring... her color means she is boring... you are smarted then that... you have eyes and can see...] he grumbled.

Peyla had quieted, but at his comment she began shouting again. [MY ALKIDIKE HAS EYES TOO AND SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO SEE TO KNOW YOU ARE A TERRIBLE HORRIBLE THING!] Rude. Rude. RUDE. Her Alkidike couldn't see, but she was sure HER alkidike was better than HIS. Anything was better than His! [I HATE YOU YOU ARE TERRIBLE] she said, standing up very tall and proud on the table and glaring at Amadi. She somehow resisted trying to tear his wings off, even though she wanted to.
Dyakida winced at Peyla's renewed shrieks, wanting to fold her ears down and hold them there until the noise stopped. "Light markings...?" Dyakida forced herself to continue the conversation, "Really." she frowned and faced the copious sound, "... Well, I think Peyla is a woman. If Amadi is a male, then maybe so. How did you find him?"
[No, no!] Peyla scolded briefly in Dyakida's direction, [His colors mean he is bad! Girl or boy, Black marks are bad! Bad Bad...] she turned quickly back to Amadi- who knew what a black pixie would do when your back was turned! [BAD.]

[Hate makes one bad... I don't even hate, but you do, so maybe you are the bad one.] Amadi didn't speak as loudly as his light colored counterpart, he said it quietly enough that he wouldn't hurt HIS two Alkidike's ears, but loud enough that Peyla would be able to hear him. Yes, he would prove that he was the good one and they would make HER leave.
Briella nodded. Yes, their markings could very well be indicators of their genders. But it seemed there as something she didn't understand. "He was in my room, playing tricks on me." she said with a laugh as she thought about it. "We were having fun, just messing around really. And well he's been with me every since."
[See, I'm fun, your boring.] he said while sticking out his tongue.

[I'm not boring! I'm important!] she said, sticking her tongue out right back. [And it's not bad to hate bad people because hating bad people makes you GOOD.] He was wrong! HE WAS WRONG! Peyla would make them all see!
"Tricks?" That certainly sounded like what Peyla had done. A few pranks, truly harmless ones here and there. Dyakida had just not been having a good day, that was all. "Peyla plays tricks too. Or, she did. She has been nothing but a help since I met her though..." Dyakida smiled. Indeed. She didn't know how she managed without her. "What sort of tricks did he play? She stole my food and moved a few objects around... small things." Annoying things, certainly. It wasn't as if Peyla didn't do annoying things now, like be generally rude to people she didn't like. Or shriek.
Peyla smiled smugly. [See? I'm important!]

Amadi rolled his eyes, mimicking Peyla and moving his head from side to side. It caused Briella to laugh which brought him joy. He would ignore the boring Peyla. She was boring, and hopefully soon she would be gone.
"Amadi plays little ones still. Mostly on Niebet." she said with a smile. She was sure Dyakida would get a kick out of that. When Dyakida asked what kind of things Amadi did she had to think about it. He had done a lot of things. "Yea, about the same. He moved things around, tugged at my hair a little to get my attention. Mostly funny tricks." she said looking back at Amadi.
[Blah. Blah. Blah. That's all your saying.] he told Peyla again.

"Hmmm?" Dyakida smirked briefly. Oh Niebet. How had she missed this? Mmmm, she could imagine the sort of pranks that would really get on their little sister's nerves. Things that would have her screaming and shouting. She was just too polite to do them. Perhaps... no, she shouldn't encourage it. ... Not in any way that could be traced back to her, anyway. "Well, from that, I'd say they don't seem too different, behavior-wise..." Dyakida sat down at the table, since she was going to be there for a while. She might as well be sitting. "So, if they look different... Maybe its race, then? Like the different types of earthlings?" she took people's word for it that they looked different- different colors, hair, crystals... Well, if she bothered to make a study of it and trained herself, she bet she could feel the differences... different pigments would make hair feel different, and possibly skin too? And crystals of different colors certainly were odd.
"Well, they were funny tricks. I was just having a bad day. Understatement, by a long shot.
Peyla was trying to be good. Sort of. [No. Thats what you're saying.] she retorted, baring her little teeth. She wanted to punch him. HE didn't have an important job. SHE did. SHE. SHE SHE SHE. HE was just a lowly black mark prankster and he was BAD. She was a guide and that was very important and he should shut up and go away so she could do her job!
"What was so funny just then? Please, share the joke..."

[DUHHH, that was what I just said! I was mimicking you!] he told Peyla with what sounded like a laugh. Oh this one was not only boring, but she was also dumb.
It was hard to keep her eyes off the sprites, however it seemed that they had calmed down at least some. At least it seemed like Amadi had. She took a little pleasure in her sprite being better behaved, but she had a feeling that there was more then met the eye with the two of them. Something she just didn't see yet...
"Maybe like the earthlings. From what I hear not all earthlings get along. That would make sense. And nothing, Amadi is just mimicking Peyla. She doesn't like it." Briella said with a smile in her voice.

"Mimicing?" it hadn't sounded like mimicry. They had distinctively strident voices. It was hard to describe, but a bit painful to the ears nonetheless. "Oh..." there must have been a visual element. Gestures, maybe. Dyakida hadn't been much for mockery, or paying attention to it. Why should she bother? Mockery was not constructive. The occasional teasing or jiving, sure. Sarcasm and wit? Of course. But actual mockery? That was not how you encouraged others to become better. "Some of our own sisters don't get along with each other"[/b[ she noted, "I wonder if its the same for earthlings, not getting along with their own kind?" She reached out a hand towards the chirping, hoping to calm Peyla down with a touch as she didn't want more shrieking, and Peyla's chirp still had an edge to it that she didn't like. "What are they doing now?"
[Duuuuuuuh thats what I just said] Peyla shrilled back, imitating his obnoxious movements. [Well, I didn't say BLAH BLAH BLAH! You can't mimic me if I didn't say it!] She put her hands on her hips triumphantly, [But you said that, so ha!] she laughed at him. [Hahaha!]
