Melvin had been upset with Rin when he noticed she was no longer talking to him. Not only because she wasn't talking to him, but because she was letting her greenhouse project come to a complete stop before it even started all because they were having some sort of fight at the time. Considering he had cleaned it up and down, it just seemed a waste. Rin was smarter than that to stop a project she was excited about all because of him.

Now that things were sorted out in it's own way, Melvin needed to get her back in her greenhouse and working. He wasn't even sure she's been to her greenhouse since.

So, meeting up with her for lunch, they ate and then headed over. He wasn't in the best of moods and was hoping that coming here would cheer him up.

"Have you thought about what you wanted to do first with your greenhouse?" He asked, walking alongside Rin as they headed over.

Rin honestly hadn't been back since the 'fight' but she did have... something... in her possession she planned to install on this trip. Damn Melvin, always so pushy. Rin smirked at him. "Yes and no. I have a vague idea where to start but no... real... game plan yet." She held the wrapped plant close to her side. It would be her first intentional planting for the greenhouse and it was something which she was quite fond of as well.

"You should check your budget and make a list of the things that are your top priority so you know how much money you can spend on what things." Melvin said matter-o-factly as he walked beside her. He did notice the wrapped bundle and while it killed him not to ask, he knew he'd know in a few minutes.

Coming to the greenhouse door, he opened it considering Rin had not locked it when she walked out.

Inside, the greenhouse ad been swept, what little furniture had been arranged, empty pots set in one corner, pots with soil in one, and pots that had compost in another. The floors were also mopped.

Rin stared. How the ******** someone could get essentially a dirt house so clean, she hadn't the foggiest. She sloowly turned her head to give Melvin a suspicious look, "You made a pact with the dirt devil, didn't you?" Then a playful smirk.

He shut the door behind her. "If there was a dirt devil and I met him, I would have shot him in the face. No. You left me with a lot to do and I said I was going to help you clean it up." In truth, he hadn't known what to do with himself after Rin had looked at him that way and ran off. His usual method to dealing wit things and sorting them out in his head was cleaning, and she had given him a big project to focus his attention on.

"It's a good thing hunters have increased healing or my hands would have had a to of blisters." They had been pretty useless for that day and the day after, not to mention his back hurt and is muscles were sore, but he spent that day just sleeping and trying not to think.

"Now you can focus on what to do next."

Rin laughed, "Well... you did an amazing job Melvin." She set her parcel down on the nearest table to free her hand to gently touch Melvin's shoulder. "Are you willing to continue your help? Even if I make a big muddy mess again?" She winked at him and it became clear the statement might have had more than one meaning behind it.

Melvin caught the wink and then looked around. "Sure, but if we're going to mess around, I'm not doing it on any dirt piles." He was serious in his tone, missing the sort of playful romance that Rin was going for and just being clear and matter-o-fact with how things would work if she wanted to have any fun in the greenhouse.

He looked at the parcel, wanting to know now that they were here. "What's this?"

Rin tittered softly as her point clearly soared over Melvin's head, that's okay though. She'll live. She offered a playful grin before moving on. "It's... nothing much really," she turned to begin peeling away a bit of paper and plastic until she revealed a singular lonely flower that had been hastily dug up and shoved into a dirty mug. It might not seem like much... but clearly it has been carefully tended despite it's poor state of transport.

Rin smiled to herself upon seeing it again, a distant sort of relief in her eyes, "I just need to transplant it..."

Melvin regarded the flower and then the mug it was in. "And you should probably clean that mug very well if you plan on returning it." He said, moving over to regard the many pots all around the place. "I guess it's up to you to decide which pot you want it in."

He looked back, relying on what he regarded were expertise on the matter of flora.

"It depends," Rin looked around the room carefully. "Where is the best... most central pot you recalled cleaning?" She slowly wandered the rows in search of the best. "As for the mug... that's really up to you now, isn't it?" Plants may have been her skill but cleaning was his science.

"Oh goodie." Melvin said at the prospect of cleaning a dirty mug.

Walking along, he tried to guage where he would consider the center of the greenhouse. "Why the center? Is that little flower that important?" Or did she see it as the first step to her greenhouse and wanted it to be a big occasion.

Personally, he would have just taken a pot and said it was the center, but now he was looking for one already about. He stopped among a row that, upon looking around, seemed center-ish. There was also a garden box beside it. "Well, I suppose this would be it. Take your pick."

"It is," Rin assured as she turned down the row he was indicating and carefully placed the plant aside to dig a little hole where she felt was perfect given both their guidance. She then removed the plant carefully from the mug and eased it into the hole. Gently massaging the soil around the loosened root ball. "There little flower, you will never be alone again." She pressed down on the soil surrounding it and moved over to hunt for a watering pot.

Melvin stared at the flower after what Rin said, and thought it best not to point out that the flower was still very much alone considering it was the only occupant in the greenhouse. Glancing over, he followed after Rin and then moved past her to find something else.

"Do you know what type it is?" He asked, opening a few drawers from the tablets around before finding what he was looking for. Moving over, he offered Rin a flower marker that, consisting of a spike to go into the ground and a piece of thin plastic on top, had a blank card inside. "Found these while cleaning. The techs before probably labelled their plants and the species to document their progress." He patted his pockets before fishing out a pen.

"Shh Melvin, no questions tonight - okay?" she smirked at him playfully before taking the label from him and placing it, blank, at the foot of the flower. Truth was, she was not familiar with the flower, uncertain yet if it would be in any of the previous books but she is certain it is a creation special to the island. One she will investigate another time. It was alive for now and that was all that mattered.

Rin grabbed the watering can and thoroughly saturated the plant before setting it down to turn to Melvin, "You did a good job cleaning..."

The blonde made a noise that seemed both resistant to the idea of no questions, but agreeing to the request. This would be a test of sheer will, and Melvin wasn't all that interested in giving it his all.

Crossing his arms, he regarded the little flower. "Cleaning is one of the few things I'm good at, I guess." Talking didn't seem to be considering he scared Jerry out of a window.

"Had a lot of time on my hands too."
