She'd been practicing like super hard with this bow. Heidi already knew how to use one but never in a like..combat situation or whatever, just for like hunting and target practice and stuff. Practicing with Bix had been interesting but she needed someone more on her level. That Theodore guy had offered, he seemed like a safe bet.

Heidi stopped at the edge of the field and took her phone out to squint at the guy's twitter icon, typing out one quick reply to the other kid too before the put her phone away and looked for the face that matched the picture.

Ah! There he was!

"HEEEEEY! HEEEEEEEEEEEY!" Heidi called out, running across the field and waving an arm to get his attention toward her. "You're Theodore, right? I'm Heidi! You said to come here and spar you~!"

Tuck had been tooling around on the training grounds as he usually did. He'd yet to make any real friends aside from Rep - and even then, Tuck wasn't sure if he could call the dude a friend. It had been some weird circumstances that had brought them together, and it certainly wasn't something that Tuck wanted to experience again.

He heard Heidi before he saw her, and when he finally did see her, Tuck couldn't help but grin.

"Call me Tuck, short stack," the Moon grinned, hands on his hips. "Pleasure to meet you, Heidi. You ready to get this party started?"

"Can this short stack call you Giant instead?" Heidi answered with a grin, looking the man up and down. He was a big'un.

Wouldst thou enjoy some chocolate? Matilda teased, her grin audible in her tone. Heidi just blinked and reached up to rub the earring totem.

Well, yeah. I love chocolate. Matilda giggled and Heidi just looked terribly confused. Why was--

Oh.

You're weird. She rolled her eyes and summoned her weapon anyway, the bow settling comfortably in her hands. "Nice to meet you too, dude. And yeah! Totally! Whatcha got for me, Mister Beanstalk?"

Tuck let out a robust laugh, teeth flashing bright against his complexion. "You can call me what you like, short stack," he chuckled, the ring on his right hand shimmering briefly.

An instant later there was a massive axe held in both hands, runes glinting blue across the weapon's face.

"Herryk wants me to take it easy on you, but I think you can handle what I dish out, right?"

Herryk rumbled with concern.

<Do not hurt the ghoul. This one is small and petite.>

Tuck grinned and moved forward, bringing the blunt side of the axe against Heidi's hip.

Heidi looked very impressed by the axe Tuck had just summoned. That was so cool! Their weapons matched a little! "Oh? Herryk's your weapon, I'm guessing. That's nice of him! I think I'll be fine though, I've got a brother so I think I can handle some smacking around." She assured him with a grin, idly plucking Matilda's string. "I'll be fiiiine."

She may have spoken too soon.

Tuck smacked her hip and she stumbled away from it with a grunt, rubbing her hip. At least it wasn't the bladed edge yet. She turned quickly, holding Matilda tightly and firing a glowing white arrow at the man. She didn't exactly aim but she hoped it didn't go anywhere like...vital..

...Or his manbits. That would suck.

Heidi's response had Tuck chuckling, but the arrow to the upper thigh stopped the rough laughter.

Herryk snorted. Loudly.

"Close call, short stack," Tuck put on his serious face, tightening his hands against the handle of his weapon.

Tuck moved in to attack, his weapon glancing off Heidi's upper body somewhere - he didn't really see, as he was too busy trying not to fall on his a** as the weapon's momentum swung him around in a very awkward-looking pirouette.

Oh dang that was close. Heidi at least looked embarrassed over that shot. "Crap, dude. I'm sorry. I didn't mean t--gah!" The axe hit her shoulder and she winced. Note to self, stay away from the axe.

She rolled her shoulder and hurried back away from him, actually aiming for his arm this time so she wouldn't hurt him too much.

"Son of a b***h," Tuck hissed beneath his breath as Heidi's arrow caught him in the shoulder. He flashed the other Moon a tight grin, moving forward on long legs to draw up to the blonde again.

Herryk lashed out hungrily, though Tuck used the flat of the blade once more so as not to cause any sort of massive damage.

"All charged up," Tuck beamed, "you next, and then we can see what the other is made of."

He'd never used a charge before, and both hunter and weapon were feeling thrilled - so much so that it was entirely obvious how pleased Tuck was by the prospect of using his charged attack.

Oh he wanted them both to release a charge? Well..okay! Heidi aimed again, but she pulled her arm out too far and winced when the sting of the axe's earlier blow hit her. The surprise made her arrow fly off and completely miss Tuck.

"Craaaap. Sorry." Heidi rubbed her shoulder, taking a few steps back away from Tuck.

"No harm, no foul," Tuck grinned broadly, rolling his wide shoulders back before planting the bladed end of his axe into the ground.

"I won't even attack you this time, short stack. That's what this is all about, ain't it? Practice. Give it another go."

The arrow buzzed past Tuck's head. Heidi's eyes were wide. Whoa..that was a close one. She'd been aiming for his arm.

"Aw, c'mon now. You even trying to hit me, short stack?"

Tuck hefted Herryk's blade over his shoulder with one hand, slapping his chest with the other.

"I ain't even going to try and defend this time."

He flashed her his most charming smile.

Heidi looked mortified. "I-I'm sorry! It was an accident, I swear!"

Now he was offering her a completely free shot. That was nice of him. But arrows didn't seem to be working. Heidi frowned and looked to the bow in her hand, a finger tracing along the edge of one of the blades.

Well..it'd be unexpected.

Heidi suddenly grasped one end of the bow in both hands and moved in, swinging it at Tuck like a baseball bat.

The bow caught him in the gut, and Tuck doubled over in pain. He grunted, hands on his knees, as he caught his breath.

"Nicely done," the Moon wheezed, fighting the tears of pain that welled in his hazel eyes.

Herryk gleamed dully in the foggy midday light, his runes coalescing before fizzing entirely.

"Aw, come on, man," Tuck groaned. "Talk about a let-down."

Rocking back on his heels, Tuck flashed Heidi a rueful look.

"Your turn. Mine was s**t."

Heidi was interested to see what Tuck's charge did. Something cool? By the looks of it ye--

Oh..well...maybe not. It seemed his weapon had a bit of a premature charge problem.

Or something.

"Uh, okay. Sure...I've never used it before sooooo.." She took a few steps back just in case, taking on a more proper stance now that Tuck was just letting her aim and shoot. The bow's runes glowed brighter and brighter, an almost ear-piercing scream sounding from the weapon as Heidi pulled the string back and readied an arrow. Aim, breathe...

The arrow shot high, completely avoiding Tuck and disappearing in the distance with a fading shriek.

Heidi blinked. "Well, that was unexpected."

Matilda groaned unhappily.
