 "Barawai! Where are you, you lazy bum! We have training to do, training!" a rather lively cub called out, racing to the den that her friend resided in. They were hybrids, she heard the others state. Though, in all honesty, she had no clue what that exactly meant. All she knew was the Barawai and his siblings were rather strange looking.
Of course, in Ajia's opinion, that didn't matter all that much. She giggled when a lady bug fluttered by and, deciding that it may be a bit before Barawai came out, she might as well chase the lady bug. Without any mind to crouching and pouncing, Ajia decided she was going to catch this bug with speed and speed alone. Narrowing her eyes, tailing twitching in excitement, she took off. Being a rather young cub, her steps usually sent her tumbling this way and that but she was determined to get over that feat.

 Barawai's ears twitched as he heard his name being called out and slowly woke up from his peaceful slumber. Training, training. A delightful treat, even though some dreaded it. To Barawai, it was the high life. Preparing for the real game…was so intoxicating. He wanted to be the best there was when he entered the field. Make everyone stare in awe at his prowess and respect him for it. Jealousy was another bonus, only when it was directed at him, though. Gave him more rivals to defeat and crumble their hopes of ever getting better than him.
Slowly, as to not wake his other littermates, the cub got up and stretched quickly before shaking his body to and fro in a lazy attempt to get any dirt that clung to his coat off. Didn’t want mother to stop him from going out and training with his friend. That just wouldn’t do.
Not giving his mother a chance to berate him on his actions, he quickly scrambled outside the den and sped towards the leopard cub. “Ajia!” he called out when he was in reasonable distance, and attempted to push her to the ground.

Ajia'ndege heard him coming, saw him coming. And so, she was quite prepared for the push.
Grinning, she allowed herself to be pushed back, even going as far as pulling him back, giving herself momentum. Once she landed on her back, she kicked up her feet, allowing it to land softly on her friend's before tossing him over her.
Of course, if she had all together tried to avoid his push, she would most likely lose. And she just couldn't have that; it was unfortunate that she just wasn't strong enough. However, she did find another way to win.
Standing up, already feeling the dirt covering her hind, she grinned down at her hybrid friend. "I win, Bara!" she yelled in his ear, before prancing away. "Come on! First training exercise for the day: tree climbing!" Hollering in excitement, Ajia ran into the forest, not bothering to wait for Barawai; Ajia knew he'd be able to keep up with her.She had a lot of confidence in her friend and, hopefully, future teammate.

Barawai gave a small, confident roar as he bowled into his Ajia, smirking. He stared down at the cub, not even realizing that he was pulled back into that push. Because of course, his attack was perfect and held no flaw. She couldn’t possibly do that to him.
That smile never left his face, as he stood above her, panting from the small excursion. “Got yo---“ with a shrill shriek, he fell to the ground. He didn’t even have a chance to open his eyes before the leopard yelled in his ear.
“Not fair, Aj! I got you first!” he claimed, opening up his depths and hastily sitting, slowly rubbing one of his poor, abused ears with a hind paw. Retaliation wasn’t allowed----was it? No. It was whoever got the other on their back first! That was it! She was such a cheater.
Pouting, Bara scrambled over towards Ajia on his much too large paws, stumbling every now and again. These paws were such a bother; couldn’t they get smaller? He’d much rather grow /with/ them than grow into them.
It became apparent, however, that he was soon lost in the forest with Ajia not in sight. Her scent lingered, but he couldn’t tell which way she went. It was /everywhere/, not just in one direction. Frowning, he looked up to the trees, thinking that she may already be up one. “Ajia? Where are you?” He could have sworn that his voice wasn’t shaking.
Apprehensively, he stared up the tree and started to slowly try to climb it. Might as well search in the trees for her instead of on ground. Now, if only his paws would cooperate….

She crashed through the forest quickly, bangs flying to the side, streaming along with her headband. Spotting a rather nice looking tree, she decided to dive behind it. Panting, blue eyes looked around for the familiar hybrid. Blinking, she peeked her head out further. She had lost him.
Instead of worrying, though, the leopardess cub grinned mischeviously, hunkering down onto the ground. "Challenge." she whispered to herself. "Sneak up on Bara." Grinning, she shuffled into a bush, her colors blending her quite nicely into the forest ground. When she heard him quite a bit off, she quietly rose, approaching softly. He was trying to climb a tree.
Her impish grin grew even wider.
Coming up right below him, she yelled, "I FOUND YOU BARA!" before latching onto his tail with her teeth, careful not to draw blood. Of course, being young, she wasn't quite aware on just how much biting could hurt and so, wasn't gentle enough to not leave imprints.
Tugging on the tail, she gave it a jerk before hopping back with a laugh. "I win the "finding" challenge!" she hooted, jumping around, before rushing past Bara and latching onto the tree.
Rather awkwardly, she scrambled up until she reached the first high branch on the tree that looked sturdy enough for her weight. Once she gained her balance, albeit still a bit wobbly, she peered over the edge at Bara. "What are you waiting for?" she hollered, before latching on to the tree again and going higher.
Oh, if her mother or papa saw her now... she winced at the imagined lecture. Yea, it was best if they didn't find out.

Barawai was halfway up to the branch, desperately clinging onto the trunk in front of him when he heard his friend call him. So loudly, that his ears gave protest once again. How could she be so quiet when sneaking up on people, yet be so loud whenever she opened her mouth?! Insane. She’d never last a team match of Ikikuwa being quiet; her voice would give her position away in a heartbeat.
The cub looked down from his position and at the leopardess, frowning. “Do you always have to be so loud?” he grumbled, rubbing the side of his head upon the bark in order to alleviate some of his “ear pain”. “I’ll lose my hearing before I become an adult if you keep it up.” The thought of being deaf terrified him, and he gave a shudder. How would playing in tournaments work, if he couldn’t hear the enemy coming? Or his teammates?
He started going back up the tree then, intent on getting up to the top before his friend could on another tree. His progress was thwarted, however; when he felt teeth dig into his tail, causing him to yelp and temporarily lose grip of the bark. Scared senseless, Barawai desperately found his grip once again, and clung to the tree, glaring at the leopard down below. “That wasn’t funny!” he mumbled, slowly descending the tree cautiously. He didn’t like that falling sensation that she gave him. The ground was a much safer place to be.
Now finally down on all fours, the hybrid stared up at Aij, his tail ticking back and forth and hair on end. Angry, was an understatement. He was furious. “There wasn’t any challenge! You’re a lying cheater! You can’t make challenges on a whim. There has to be..rules!” he shouted, sitting down at the base of the tree and watching the leopardess carefully. With a huff, he glared at the other, refusing to begin his training session for today. “For you to take back all your wins.” He replied, with a distasteful frown. “Cheater.”

When he started spewing accusations, however, her eyes widened and she gasped. Loudly. Quickly, she slid down the tree, pouncing half way down off the bark and onto the hybrid. "I do not!" she hissed, glaring at him. "A challenge is a challenge. Everything is a challenge!" How dare he call her a cheater!
Ajia was extremely offended to hear this uttered from his mouth. She loved the challenges! She love the games! Why would she spoil the fun with cheating? "Take it back." she gritted out lowly.

 Barawai’s ears crumpled back at her loud boast, desiring to place his paws over his head, although such a feat, he learned early on, barely changed how loud Aija was being. No, it only made her muffled slightly. On most accounts she would raise her voice when he did that, it seemed. Undoubtfully unpleasurable. “How else will you plan a secret attack with your partners, if you can’t lower your voice?” he yelled back, feeling justified in his answer. “If your fans can hear your plan, than so can the enemy. “
Nodding dignifiedly, the cub snorted, mumbling under his breath. “Fans, right.” As if she was going to garner any followers. If she did hear any cheers from fans, they’d be from his, encouraging them on. The only fan that she may have would be that old stickler Kheri. Who didn’t even like training and playing. All he did was sit around and frown. What a bump in the log.
The cub backed up a few paces hurriedly as she almost fell down, not wanting to get landed upon. So they wouldn’t both be injured. But, in all honesty, it was really because he felt like such a blow would hurt himself beyond repair. Aija was a friend, but he valued his future superstardom in the games more than he valued her ability to play the games. She couldn’t possibly die from that fall right? Nah, of course not.
A huge gasp of relief left him when she didn’t actually fall, happy that she was safe but also gulped loudly, swallowing the near death fear that he had been holding inside of him. But, as soon as she made her next move towards him, he tensed, and hastily backed up a few steps. Those few steps still weren’t enough to save him, however; and he was left with a mouthful of fur as she landed on top of him.
Bara bit her quickly, nothing too major, and squirmed in her hold. For someone so smaller than he, she was able to pin her down effectively, making him unable to move. Not like he would ever admit that aloud, especially right now.
“You do to!” he spat back, kicking in a futile attempt to break free. “You always make it so you win! It’s not fair!” he snarled, but didn’t glare at her. Rather, he looked at her with something akin to jealousy, and spite. “Not everything is a challenge. You wouldn’t take the challenge to hurt your mother, would you?” with a growl, he started shoving back at her. He hated the fact that she always won! He wanted to win too! “No.” with a gruff huff, he turned his head to the side, refusing to look the leopardess in the eye. “A cheater’s a cheater’s a cheater. No changing that.”

The laugh was shot right out of her when the other snorted. Her cyan eyes narrowed and she lifted her head. "Yes, fans," she restated, tail whipping twice. She frowned at him before raising her head haughtily. "I will have thousands of fans. But, don't worry Bara; I'm sure a few of those will give you sympathy cheers," she leered.
Her eyes narrowed dangerously, fur rising. "I do not," she spat back, refusing to believe. Of course, she did make up challenges that she knew she could win. However, if just simple strength, Ajabu was sure to lose against the other. And, once they grew older, he was most likely going to be faster than her too. However, she refused to believe this. "Take it back, Bara! Or-or..." she paused, cyan eyes flashing. She was going to say it. She was going to land him the biggest threat of all time. The cub figured she would definitely have to apologize for going to such extremes.
"Or I want train with you anymore." There, she said it.

Barawai pouted from his place on the floor and got up, head bowed and resting against his neck, his shoulders hunched. He didn't mind laughter...when someone wasn't laughing about something that he said. This was entirely different. Ajabu was giggling her head off because of the serious remark that he said. Well, she didn't know anything! Everyone had secret attacks, even the best players! That was a fact!
The young cub glowered at his good friend but didn't speak a word. He couldn't even formulate a sentence to dispute her claim. Even though he would like to, she did have a point. It was a wise idea to plan beforehand. However, there was no way he was going to state that she was right. Give her something else to gloat about? He didn't think so.
Rolling his eyes skyward, the cheeton sat down and started to casually lick one of his much too large paws, trying to look as adult-like as possible. "I'll have a whole bunch of fans! More than you'll ever have!" he claimed, throwing his head to the side with a derisive snort. As if she'd ever have as many fans as he has. "My fans will be the ones to give you the sympathy cheers." he mumbled loudly, more to himself than anything.
He snapped his head back to look at his leopard friend, teeth bared. "You do too!" he spat, nails digging into the dirt beneath his paws as he stood up defensively. Brown eyes widened considerably at her declaration, however; and his mouth open and closed silently a few times. Not being able to train with Aja? But..they always trained together! They couldn't stop! "Y-You wouldn't!" he stammered out, baffled. How could she? "You can't!"
