Welcome to Reboot!

As many of you know, this guild has been around for a few years now, and the main role play has been running BEFORE the guild had even been created. There have been a LOT of characters, a LOT of plot, and a LOT of story to go through.

While I am extremely proud that this guild has been running strong for so long, there are a few problems with this. Role players drop out or become bogged down with IRL work, leaving major plots and characters in purgatory. Years worth of back story has been made, and dozens of locations are created and forgotten. This makes it intimidating for new guild members to even BEGIN posting. They don't know where to go, what is active, or what to do.
Even our veteran members get into a rut or stuck because plots are put on halt thanks to other characters that drop out of existence.

So... after putting it to a vote, we have decided to make a second massively involved role play. While the main role play is still active and running, THIS role play forum will be open and available to begin anew. New members will not need to worry about reading through locations with 500+ pages of posts, or wait for a crew or captain to to explain what's going on. Characters in purgatory, dead, or lost in time will be open and available to play again. New members are still welcome to join in on the main role play, but this will give them an opportunity to begin role playing without feeling so lost.

Veteran members... feel free to continue your story and relationships with other characters as you do in the main story line, or start completely from scratch! Get those characters that are stuck out of their rut and back into action again! You might even be able to find some inspiration for your characters in the main role play... or take your character into a different direction that they wouldn't be able to go in the main plot.

Reboot! is a chance for all of you to start fresh, or just keep on rolling in a slightly less cluttered and daunting environment!

RULES

Basic guild rules apply. Please see the Rule Book for more information. As for THIS forum...

◙ To lessen the confusion on the home page, all topics and threads that belong in the Reboot! universe will have Reboot! in their title. This applies mostly to character and location topics.

For example:
¤ Reboot! ...Gotham City
¤ Reboot! ~ Central Park, New York City
¤ Reboot! - Fisk Towers, New York City
¤ Reboot! ((Home Sweet Home))

As you can see, each title has Reboot! in the topic. This way if people see it on the home page, they will know which Gotham forum has been updated. You may also notice that some locations have a specific city labeled as well. This helps those jumping into a location find an area that is close to what they need or can identify. Nonspecific locations do not need a city attached to it.

◙ If you decide to create a location, please be sure that it is a location that can be used regularly, or by everyone. In other words, don't create a location topic that is only going to be posted in once or twice and then abandoned. If you noticed in the Main Role Play, there are a LOT of locations that are just sitting there. If you just need a location for a brief seen, please use a location that is already created.

◙ When entering or leaving one location, you must state that you are doing so. In other words when your character leaves Gotham to go to New York, you must state at the end of your post that the character is leaving to that location.

This helps other role players in that location know that your character is no longer around, and thus cant be interacted with. And when a character enters an area, other role players can see that there is someone new or someone who has just arrived. Other role players may need to follow after your character, in which case it helps to have a stated location to follow.

CHARACTERS

Basic rules for claiming and using characters for the Reboot! Universe...

◙ Seniority Rule: Veteran members are allowed first call on claiming characters. If they own a character in the Main Role Play, they automatically have the right to that character in the Reboot! Role Play.

If they own a character in the main role play, but do not wish to play them for the Reboot! role play, then they must list them as available for other members to play.

¤ Please note that this only applies to Reboot! You may not jump into the main role play with a character that a veteran member already has claimed. You may however bring in that character from a different time line or alternate reality. (Amazing Spiderman, Ultimate Spiderman, Ultimate Spiderman II, Spiderman Unlimited, etc...)

◙ If you want a character, you must put in a request for that character. You may check the available list in the Reboot! Characters forum, then go to the Reboot! Character Request thread and post a request for that character.

¤ If more than one person wants an available character, then you may need to provide a role play sample for that character. We will determine who is better at playing that character and staying true to the characters actions and personality.

¤ If you do not get the character you wanted, then you may use an alternate reality of that character, or the same character from a different time line. (Amazing Spiderman, Ultimate Spiderman, Ultimate Spiderman II, Spiderman Unlimited, etc...)

◙ Character Profiles will be shorter than the Main Role Play profiles. Mostly because all of the profiles will be posted in one thread rather than multiple sub forums. You may use a link to an existing profile or external page when making the Reboot! profile. Such as wiki or comicvine. You may also put multiple profiles in one post to a selected thread.

◙ If you use a character that you play in the Main Role Play, please state how they will be played differently from the Main Role Play version, if at all. In other words state if your character still knows other characters, or if you are starting from scratch.
