Name: Nuawahn (New-Wan) (You can call him Nu though. Or No. Its pretty much his name, considering how often people tell it to him)
Race: Wind (but with a leaf and ice tribe member somewhere in his ancestry, at great grandparent or further. No more than 1/32 of those other races, though, and quite possibly less)
Gender: Male
Base Traits:
Excitable
- Nuawahn is easily delighted and distracted. New things are interesting things, and who knows what new things are calling from behind that hill? Look! There! No! There! The world is a wonderful place, full of all sorts of stuff and its all the most amazing stuff ever.
Restless
- Nuawahn is everywhere, in everything, on everyone's nerves. The kid that can't sit still? Thats Nuawahn, shifting in his chair, twirling in place, just keeping himself moving. It is not uncommon to see him snooping around someone's pack or playing a prank because he's bored and just has to do something on long walks.
Impartial
- Nuawahn has a general attitude towards everybody, and it's always positive. That is the only prexisting bias he has. Everybody is an individual- probably an interesting one- and their race or class is only a part of that. He likes them until shown otherwise.
This means that, in terms of a conflict, he is fairly neutral, making up his mind and choosing sides based on the issues not the people involved.
Class: Healer->Soul linker
Personality:
Nuawahn may not be truly a mutt, but he might as well be, the way he acts up to try and get attention. He is a handful for his caretakers, sticking his nose in all sorts of places where it doesn't belong, eavesdropping on things not meant for young ears, and generally being a pain in the a**. He's a mischevious, nimble little imp who loves to show off. If that means causing trouble, well so be it.
Fortunately, his slight penchant for kleptomania was nipped in the bud- he understands that things belong to other people, that these other people may not have very much, and may get upset when their things are taken without their permission. Making people upset is, generally, not very nice, and he doesn't want people to be upset, and so at least respects the concept of 'their' property. He also thinks that these people should lighten the hell up. He is still light fingered, but at least items get returned to their owners... through roundabout ways. Switching things between pockets of a pack is one of his favorite tricks, or swapping out an item for something pretty or useless of his own (he later returns the item), or hiding the item with a trail leading to it- something that annoys the owner while still letting the item be reclaimed. Always, he watches the ensuing frustration and trouble with a big grin.
Ultimately, he's a good kid, though. If he saw his prank was going to cause trouble of the not fun sort, he would be likely to cut it short. He may be obnoxious and annoying, but never malicious. In the end, he's a sweetheart- he'd rather help than harm, but there is almost nothing worse to him than doing nothing. Being unable to do something or- even worse- being told he can't do something drives him up a wall. And he'll try anyway.
Something that he just can't do is kill. If he isn't in a desperate situation, he'd rather eat plants and roots if he can. If he's attacked, he'd rather run or, failing that, use a nonlethal option. But his favorite way of getting out of trouble is talking his way out.
Its not that Nuawahn is a coward- far from it. He's an adventurer, driven by his curiousity. He's the first into a situation, and not always the first out. He's pretty fearless, all told.
No, he just has a deep sense of empathy. He relates to other people and living creatures, perhaps too well. It may not help him survive alone, but it does help him with other people, and is a valuable trait for a future healer to have, especially one that prefers the conflict never start in the first place.
Nuawahn loves to talk, you see. Peace is great, and everybody is so interesting. He's chatty and sociable, perfectly willing to chat up a threatening stranger. He is a mildly flirty sort, and usually is very complimentary. He means what he says too, or at least makes it a believable compliment. He tries to be charming, and usually succeeds.
His fear- lack therof- of strangers is a good thing because he is restless, and will likely meet a lot of them over the course of his life. He simply can't be still, he positively vibrates with energy and curiousity. His favorite pastime, other than wandering off, is to try to show off his acrobatic abilities, which he is very proud of. He has the conflicting desire to pass without notice and be considered harmless, and to also be the center of attention. Passing without notice means that he can overhear so many things, but attention is attention, and he love it when people give him attention. Really, he just loves people.
It is very rare for Nuawahn to run into someone he dislikes. His motto is 'like everybody, until and even when shown otherwise'. Rare, but not impossible. He doesn't like bullying and maltreatment, or any form of cruelty. Killing he understands, and war he can accept (so long as it isn't him doing the killing, thank you), but there are people out there who do not respect the sanctity and value of other's lives and to terrible things. These people; the rapists, torturers, and vicious wild killers of the world; are the people he will never see eye to eye with.
The problem is, despite how despicable he finds them, he still empathizes with these people. They may not care, but he considers their lives valuable, and finds it difficult to reconcile this with his attitude towards what they do. This dichotomy confuses him and he doesn't know what to do with people like that.
In sum, Nuawahn is a compassionate little imp who is an endless explorer and a friend to just about all people with very marked exceptions.
Description:
General Wind tribesperson build and skin color (though maybe he tans really easily, and has some very slight blue tint to his palms and the bottoms of his feet and possibly his lips, haha?). However, they have some other racial genes that do do some fun things. The point is he has some odd variations while staying VERY close to the wind tribe general body type.
Hair: Light Rosy Blond in color, Like Ayo's. Hair is loose, fluffy, and messy (see Lynch), with the same sort of frizzy curls that Ayo and Lusala have. Shoulder length. We can also call him Mr. Poofy Lion-Mane if it helps XD
Face: Smiling and mischeviously merry, possibly laughing.
Eyes: Heres where things get interesting. Wind tribe has blue eyes, but in a callback to his ancient and forgotten leaf tribe ancestor, he has some green in there. We'll say he has turquoise eyes. If allowed to, little flecks of yellow from ice genes in there? In keeping with his mischevious personality. I just want him to have REALLY PRETTY eyes XD. The prettier the better! Heck, I think that Blue with yellow-and-green flecks would be absolutely gorgeous. Go for striking.
Crystals: More interestingness. I'll describe it here, but I will have concept art up.
He has circular crystals along his jawline (x3) and at his chin he has long, ovoid crystals, 3, forming a chevron pointing away from his lips. He has a few small crystals on the side of his neck and the top of his shoulder blades. There is a small spike a few centimeters away on the scapula from the armpit. On his lower back, there is a symmetrical circle pattern, with two ovoid crystals that seem to form a triangular pattern. Around his groin and hips, he has an array of circular crystals. At the top of his feet, he has one long ovoid crystal, along the long axis of the foot, flanked by two small circular crystals and, at the sides of the ankle, small crystal spines. Colorwise, mostly that wind pink, but I was thinking maybe on a few of them, like the foot crystals, slightly dark? If not, I'm just happy to have his genes give him a weird crystal distribution and gorgeous eyes.
Clothing: He's a youngling, so I dont have to think about this yet. Though I'd probably go CC anyway because Kana knows best!
Accessories: Sea Glass bracelet
History:
Way back when, in two different family groups at around the same time, someone slept with someone they weren't supposed to and had little halfbreed babies. A half ice set, and a half leaf set.
For both of these people and their broods, they found differing degrees of prejudice and harm. The Half ice brood fared well enough- wind-ice liasons were not uncommon- but the leaf halfbreeds were exiled for their dark skin and pointed ears and the terrible luck of arriving on the verge of a series of nasty storms. Considered bad omens, they were outcasts until one of them became a hero. It took that much to be accepted back with his wind kin.
Time passed, and the leaf blood and ice blood both became diluted as they bred comfortably within their own kinsfolk. At some point, the two family groups merged and then split again, as bands sometimes do.
And that is how a line of Wind tribesfolk bearing both ice and leaf blood came to be. Most did not show much. The occasional odd eyes or gems, perhaps, but their parents and grandparents and, by this point, great grandparents had been productive and valued members of the band. They were Wind.
In fact, Nuawahn's parents, both happening to be of that line (though they were only distantly related to each other) looked, basically, like normal windtribesfolk. Maybe their hair was a bit dark and their eyes a bit yellowish or, in his father's case, greenish, but all within the color ranges of the Wind tribe.
Nuawahn's older sister and brother were born and were, also, normal save for a few small quirks.
And then Nuawahn was born with enough oddness for them all. He looked Wind. He had the skin and hair and ears of the Wind tribe. But his crystals were in odd places, his hands and feet were slightly dark with blue pigments, and his eyes...
Were definitely odd. Remarkably pretty, but odd.
Fortunately for Nu, he was a charmer from a young age. Fast to laugh and smile, happy to share the joy, and willing to be the sort of nuisance that makes you smile and shake your head with exasperation, and generally enough to assuage fears that he was a terrible omen of some sort.
By the time he was old enough to really understand and care, he had been accepted as another youngling of the Wind tribe.
Except, he keeps wandering off, with only his Capramel to take care of him. At least he has her, some say.
Post color: Light Lavender

Secondary color: Cyanic Blue #46B2E0

This is his Capramel. She keeps him in line. Sorta. Big blustery harmless mothery type. He spoils her, and her him.
