Things had been going fine for Kilian as of late. His training, though rather slow at times, was going along nicely. His family had also settled down into Obsidian city rather well. So when he came home that day and found his mother worrying over his younger cousin, Kilian felt dread wash over him. He knew something was wrong. Not even Amadia came rushing in to greet him. Instead, the Drakein was by Nekane's side. His cousin had been through some terribly times and was orphaned right before they had made their way into the city to live. Kilian and her were very close. Almost as close as siblings. So when Kilian's mother explained about Nakane's illness, he didn't hesitate to travel to Serenia to gather up some of the healing lake's water. Kilian sat out as fast as he could manage, bringing Amadia along with him. He was warming up to the Drakein and knew that she'd be helpful if he ran into anything that he needed to battle. With a heavy heart and some fierce determination, he sat out on his journey, knowing that every minute counted. ((Lets just fast forward through this and get to Serenia...haha.)) Kilian wasn't use to so many bright colors. It had been a while since he had stepped off of Soudul that when he arrived at Serenia, he was blinded by all the light. "I hate this place..." He grumbled to himself as he reached into his pack to bring a crudely drawn map of the continent out. He was to travel to the northern most lake, Tyluafel, to retrieve what he came here for. He'd have to be careful, though, as the lake seemed to be very close to Ashen city. The last thing he needed was to be caught by an Orderite. "Well, I suppose we should go Amadia." Kilian looked over at his travel companion. Luckily, they had yet to run into anything major that had needed taking care of. They were both well rested and ready to go. Kilian took one last look at his map before he stuffed it into his pack, clanking the two vials inside together. It would seem that he would be traveling through some forests before reaching the lake. Oh what joy. He really did hate forests. He hadn't had the best of encounters the last time he had been inside of the forest on Soudul.

((OOC: awe didn't want to post up the long fast forward part? <3 ))
Lanzecki tore through the forest, kicking up dead leaves and dried grass as he moved. He had been growing quickly lately and was starting to cause trouble for his bonded companion Erionda. Turning around a large trunk of a half broken tree Lanzecki squealed as he attempted to turn himself around. His claws digging and tearing at the earth until it gripped the soft mud below sending the tiny Keinling face down into the mud. He had ultimately failed in escaping what he now deemed the most dangerous situation of his life.
Two strange creatures now stood in front of him. One seemed familiar in a way, and yet the colors seemed to signal danger. Letting his jaw open, Lanzecki let forth another creel before a soft cooing sound from the tree's pulled the baby into silence.
"Goodness Lanzecki, if you keep on like that you're just going to draw in more of the nasty Ysali. And I don't want t-" Erionda paused as she stepped into view, her mismatched eyes settled on Kilian and Amadia. Resisting the urge to pull out her sword, the hybrid took a step back hesitantly. She had met a hybrid who carried the Oblivionite blood, but this was her first time seeing a pure Oblivionite before.
Opening and closing her fists as she attempted to sort through the various scenarios, Erionda bit the inside of her lower lip. Extending her hand out to Lanzecki without moving forward, attempting to coax the Keinling towards her. "Hello." Erionda began nervously. Her pale violet and ice blue eye's focused on Kilian's face before stealing a glance at Amadia and returning to their original distraction.
Many questions swarmed the young girls mind as Lanzecki moved pleadingly into her arm. Nuzzling her chin with an apology before moving away behind her. She had to keep it civil, that was the best way to avoid conflict if that's what he had come here for. Yes, if it came down to a fight she would be ready. Uassae was never far behind and the large Drakien was always helpful in tight situations like these.

Kilian and Amadia had been traveling for some time now. He had referred to his map several times in that time and yet he still felt like he wasn't getting anywhere with their journey. Kilian sighed and decided that it was to for the two of them to take a break.
Reaching into his pack Kilian brought out his canteen of water and took a hug gulp of it. He was about to offer some to Amadia when he heard heavy foot falls coming from farther within the forest. Kilian managed to step back just in time as a keinling came crashing out of the tight grouping of trees. "What the..." Lillian muttered as he took in the small, dragon like creature. Other than Amadia, Kilian hadn't really seen another keinling. Was this one wild?
Kilian was so lost in thought that he did of hear the others approaching until Amadia's low growl registered. "What is it?" He asked the lei long by his side. A small whimper was Kilian's answer.
Kilian looked up just as a female emerged from the trees and called over the other keinling. Kilimanjaro wasn't completely for sure but he thought she was a halfbreed. He frowned at what this meant. He had hoped to avoid running into anyone on this journey. Now this encounter would only delay him in getting the water from the lake.
Kilian laid a hand on Amadia and the mein lung instantly fell quiet. He really had no desire to fight at this time but would if need be. He started at her curt greeting. He knew he would not be welcomed here. He was even surprised the female hadn't already attacked him. She was obviously not of his kind. Finally he responded to her greeting. "Hello halfbreed."

Erionda twitched inwardly at the hello. That was the final sign that he was a full blooded Oblivionite. Hybrids rarely, if ever, referred to another hybrid as 'Halfbreed'. Until now Erionda hadn't given much consideration to the changes her choice in clan had given her. Silently wishing she had stalled a little longer on her choice all Rio could do was sigh. Her mismatched eyes were an even bigger give away to her lineage than her pale pink hair. Before she would have been able to pass off as only having died her hair frequently to remain different, now it was obvious to anyone.
The small Keinling at Erionda's side gave a longing whine as he stared out towards Amadia. Despite his hunger, Keinlings his age often meant games and play time. Without Rio's permission, all Lanzecki could to was remain poised and wait for the command. Sending the feelings of play through his bond towards the young Hybrid.
Rio glanced down at her smaller companion at the feelings he was trying to convey. Shifting her gaze back towards the duo before them Erionda blinked thoughtfully as she regarded the Keinling accompanying Kilian. Pulling herself strait and squared herself towards the new arrival, Erionda gave a small greeting. "Welcome to Serenia, what brings you so far from your homeland. I assume you are from Soudul?"
Lanzecki shivered with the desire to play, testing his limits the small Keinling moved into a playful bow. His eyes trained teasingly on the Kiandri Keinling in front of him. Uassae never liked to play games. Maybe this one would?
"What's your Keinlings name?" Erionda asked, once again filling with Lanzecki's desire to play. "It doesn't look much older than mine, though he would like to play with her. Of course, it's your choice. He can easily accept the answer no." With that Lanzecki gave a snort of disapproval before returning to goad Amadia into a game of tag.

Kilian nodded in response to her Erionda's question. "Yes, I'm from Soudul. Though I'm not too sure it's any of your business what I'm doing here." He wasn't sure he should trust her. There were so many factors weighing against telling her. She was a halfbreed; Orderite and Dovaa. She could easily run off and let other Orderites know why he was here and where he was headed.
He sighed, trying to figure out what he was going to do about this situation. Kilian turned his head down towards Amadia as a small shiver went through her and a feeling of excitement went through her. He now noticed that she was no longer growling. Instead, she was just staring towards the other Keinling. He could almost feel her need to romp and play. What was happening to him? Was he really starting to feel the emotions of his companion?
"Her name's Amadia." Kilian said in response to the query about the Keinling's name. "Whether she plays or not, is up to her. I really don't care as long as she's not harmed." He looked back in the direction of Erionda and her Keinling and decided that he would tell her why he was here. "And I've come to visit Tyluafel."

Erionda waited patiently, he was correct it really was none of her business why he was in Serenia after all. It wasn't like she was a special guard of the place or anything. She was only out hunting dragons and had entered into a game with her Keinling not long after the day had started. She had to remind herself, while her friends were also Hybrids, she shouldn't expect the same civil tone from everyone. Hybrids were still very much hated after all.
Spinning around in a tight circle, Lanzecki rose on his hind legs and flapped his wings playfully. Turning to nuzzle Erionda's hand affectionately before turning back to the female Keinling before them. Reaching for her belt, Erionda removed a small flask and with her free hand popped open the lid to take a small swig of the water within before returning the object to it's place. Her mind raced to comprehend what was going on between the Oblivionite and his bonded. Were they a reluctant bond? Did they not like one another? Erionda had heard of such events happening from the black market traders but had never before experienced it from someone who appeared to be her age.
"Amadia." Erionda said respectfully, glad to have been given a name to put towards the small Keinling. "Then I will free Lanzecki to play as he wishes." Erionda nodded towards her companion. Her duel eyes watching as he moved swiftly forward feinting a leap in the female Keinlings direction before spinning off towards the trees. Glancing back to see if she were going to follow.
Leaning against the trunk, Erionda expected more of a cutting remark from Kilian then she received. Blinking back her surprise Erionda tilted her head slightly, flicking her long pale pink hair over her shoulder. "Tyluafel? The healing lake?" Erionda paused crossing one of her ankles over the other, biting the inside of her lower lip in thought. "You're quite a ways off from there. And it's guarded heavily. Especially lately, I assume because of so many seeking the water lately for a quest from a Drakeinian."
The young hybrid turned her head skyward. "It would be hard for you to approach it... But if you promise it's for a good cause. I might be of help." Her eyes traced something in the sky as a shadow passed over head. "Uassae says it may take a while to get there by foot. There are several dragons in the area if you continue strait." Erionda mentioned the creatures with a bitter tone in her voice, flicking her toe out to pull her body away from the trunk she had been leaning against.

Amadia watched Lanzecki move around with excitement and whimpered. She wanted so badly to jump and play with the other Keinling. Kilian looked down at Amadia as the other Keinling went bounding off towards the trees. When Amadia looked up a Kilian, a question in her eyes, he relented and nodded. "Go on." The Keinling gave a squeal and took off after the other one.
His attention back to the halfbreed, Kilian listened as she told him about what was going on in Serinia. "Well hell..." He mumbled as he was informed of how well guarded the place was at the moment. This would delay them much longer than he liked. Time really wasn't on his, or Nakane's, side. "It...is for a good cause. This I promise. I've not much reason to step foot onto Orderite soil." There was a bitterness in his voice as he said the word Orderite.
Kilian's head snapped up and his ears twitched at the mention of dragons. What caught his attention even more, though, was the way she had talked about the dragons. As if she too hated them. Curious, he asked, "Why would dragons be a problem. Aren't you half Dovaa? Do they not have a certain relationship with dragons?" His tone conveyed pure curiousness. He had to admit he didn't know too much about Dovaa or the halfbreeds. Just what he had heard and been taught by other Oblivionites.

"If you wander far make sure you are in sight of Uassae!." Erionda shouted out after Lanzecki as the two Keinlings dove into the trees. Curiously Rio watched after the female Keinling. All the Drakein's she had crossed paths with until now had been male. Both Uassae and Lanzecki were male, and it made her secretly wonder in what ways the female Drakein differed from the Males. Temper? Intelligence? Was their bond weaker? Stronger? Maybe it was purely an physical thing? Erionda's finger twitched loosely before turning her gaze away from the small babies.
The curse she had caught partially forced Rio's attention back towards the Oblivionite. Was he really that unprepared to venture into the Orderite's territory? How well did he know what he was getting himself into? She blinked but took no outward offense at the slight deviation in his tone towards Orderites. Erionda had been studying well enough to know the two races clashed, hard, and often. Death and battle were never far away.
The hybrids mismatched eyes narrowed on Kilian before turning her head away from him completely. He didn't need to see the ghost hiding in her eyes no one did. "They killed my mother and father. Wretched beasts." Closing her eyes to stop the sting of tears, Rio refused to let her head fall into pity. No she was stronger than that.
"Half Dovaa?" Erionda questioned her eyes snapping open to look at him. "I am more Dovaa than I am anything else. My father was a pure Dovaa, my mother was a hybrid. Of Dovaa and Orderite lines." Flicking her hair over her shoulder Erionda motioned for Kilian to follow her. "As for the relation I have with dragons, I have learned I can speak with them. Their crude manner of speaking however is little interest to me. The only kind thing they will meet is the edge of my sword. I don't care for their higher than thou speech."
Ducking her head under a branch as she continued forward, glancing up at the sky between the breaks in the leaves Erionda continued. "As for what you are doing here, I often don't care, as long as you aren't hunting my friends feel free to do as you please. The Orderites are no more my home than I am welcome in the celestial plane with my kin where I wish to be." Erionda spoke nothing but truth as she stepped over an out jutting root. Taking note out of the corner of her eye that Lanzecki was running through the forest beside her. Dipping in and out of view.

Kilian had a lot to learn. He, for one, should know that stereotypes with in each culture are just that; judgements made by people who know no better. He sucked in a deep breath when she revealed she had lost someone to dragons as well. "I know your pain." Kilian said as he let the breath out. "I too have lost family to the dragons." The bitter tone that had been Erionda's voice earlier now entered into Kilian's.
He kept his words to himself about her background and her parent's lineage. It was an obviously touchy subject and he couldn't blame her one bit in that. He did, however, start to follow her. He stayed slightly behind her and to her right. He was not comfortable enough to stand by her side and he'd be damned if he'd let her get behind him. He still didn't know her and his trust was hard earned from either of the races she descended from.
Kilian listened to her talk as he watched the two Keinlings play with each, while all the time keeping pace with the two of them. He rubbed the back of his neck as feelings of elation and pure joy ran through his body. They had started faint but seemed to be growing slightly stronger. He knew that they were coming from Amadia. Kilian had heard about the bonding and had been reluctant. In the beginning he knew that Amadia and him was bonded. There had been on way to avoid it. He had, however, tried to resist as best he could. The more he traveled with the Keinling, though, the stronger that bond seemed to become.
"I've actually come to help my cousin. She lost her parents to the dragons and has lived with us ever since." He took a deep sigh. It was tough for him to talk about this without having the anger overwhelm him. "She's sick now and we're not sure what to do other than have her drink the water from the healing lake." He frowned as he thought of all that Nekane had been through and now to become so sick. It just wasn't fair.
Kilian's emotions had apparently reached out without him realizing it. In the next instant Amadia was beside Kilian in a pose that was meant to protect him. He stopped in his tracks and just looked down at Amadia. It was the last thing he had expected and he wasn't really sure how to react. "What the...Amadia, go play..." Kilian muttered as he waved his hand towards the other Keinline Amadia had left behind. She whimpered, reluctant to move away from Kilian.

Erionda's gaze flashed to the corners of her eyes at the strange tone in his voice against the dragons. Though she refrained from turning her head to acknowledge what she had caught onto. Perhaps she had merely thought she heard it. Lifting a hand upward to push some hanging vines out of her way, so she could easily duck under them, Erionda glanced skyward once again her mismatched eyes searching the sky in earnest. The vine falling behind her head as she moved onward. Using the small silence between them as a chance to listen for any changes in the Ysali dragon locations.
To your left, seems like a nest.
Erionda nodded, mentally thanking Uassae. Still feeling a bit unnerved that she couldn't see him, with the strange Oblivionite behind her. On the plus side, Lanzecki was keeping his Keinling busy with play. At least with that her defense was able to relax a little. She had tuned out some of the words the Oblivionite was telling her. It really wasn't her business to know and it made no sense why he was telling her so many details. Not that she had room to do so, she had given information on herself as well.
Twitching at a sound to the left Erionda's head snapped towards the warned direction. Lifting her hand to signal a pause to her unknown companion. Lanzecki slipped silently by her side, moving with his belly close to the earth. Turning to Kilian Erionda pressed a single index finger to her lips in a shushing motion. She tried to ignore the impromptu whimper from Amadia as she pointed off into the forest.
"We must move quickly, we are far to close to the nest of a few dragons. Uassae notified me before but I figured we could slip by. It turns out we aren't as silent as I had hoped. I'll not risk my life to disturb a nest, even worse with parents around." Erionda's voice was a barely audible whisper. Her body shifting to the right, Lanzecki scurrying silently in front of her. Flicking her hand in a follow-me-motion Erionda took on leading them through a dense patch of flowers. "This will hide our scent, if they hear us they may follow. Not through these though. The scent is powerful enough to mask our's."
Turning to Kilian as she continued moving. "Unless you've been sweating all day. And then we are in a lot of trouble." It was meant as more of a light tease.

Kilian's hand had not left Amadia's head as they continued on through the forest. He didn't realize it at that moment, but the contact was keeping him calm enough to be able to process what was going on around him. He saw her react to a sound to their left and then flash her hand up. Taking the signal, he stopped moving and Amadia moved in even closer to him. Kilian nodded at her shushing motion, confirming that he understood what he was trying to get across.
"Do not worry. I don't plan to risk my life either. I may not like dragons but I am not stupid enough to go after a family with so little help." Kilian switched his direction to follow the female hybrid's. Amadia hesitated at the flowers, not wanting to go into the strongly scented plants. "C'mon, we have to Amadia." Kilian said firmly to the Keinling. With a low whimper, barely audible, Amadia pushed her way through the dense flowers.
Taking a deep breath, Kilian trudged forward as well. He hoped that she was right and it was enough to mask their scent. The last thing he needed was to get into a fight with a pack of dragons. "Don't worry, I bathe daily." A small smile flitted across his lips as he teased back.
((I just realized they haven't even introduced themselves! Haha.))

(( LOL Erionda will find it useless to introduce herself first. Since she is a Hybrid she is used to people not wanting to know her name or having little interest in her life other than seeking her out to kill))
Erionda smirked, turning her head to glance at Kilian after his light response. Once again a cutting remark failed to follow her words. Blinking as she searched Kilian's face it was the first time she registered the cloth over his eyes. How did he follow her? Twisting her features into a quizzical look Erionda continued through the flowers. Once in a while, bending down to pick one up and slip one into her hair.
It was habitual for Erionda to perform small things in order to appear more regal than she was. A flower stem twirled in her fingers as she delved into thought as the silence lingered between them. She had met a Hybrid Oblivionite before, but she had small green orbs where eyes should be. Not only that, but she appeared to require her sight. Why was it this Oblivionite did not rely on his sight. Or was the fabric so thin that he could see through the cloth? Would she not be able to see through to his eyes. Or did his companion see for him? Was he blind?
Once Erionda stepped clear of the thick floor of flowers, she glanced upward. Her mismatched eyes sought out Uassae in the sky. I don't hear any approaching from down here, are we in the clear?
Running her fingers through her hair, Erionda slipped behind another tree trunk. Keeping to the path towards the intended lake. Folding her arms across her chest as she moved. Furrowing her brows Erionda turned back. She couldn't resist asking. "How can you possibly see where I'm going with that blind fold on."

Kilian continued to stay a few steps behind the hybrid, not completely trusting her yet. He was coming around, though. Slowly, he was starting to trust her a bit. He didn't know her name, though. He'd have to change that at the next oppurtunity that he could. He watched her move through the flowers with a stealth that he envied. He had worked on being more silent, though he still wasn't perfect at it. It was just something he was not built for. He was more of a head on fellow.
He watched as the female started to seem tense. What was wrong? Where the dragons following them? Kilian was surprised when she turned around abruptly, stopping to ask him a question he hadn't fathomed to hear. No one he had met has asked him about his blindfold and he had been happy to keep quiet about it. He shrugged his shoulders and rubbed his neck, a bit uncomfortable by such a personal question.
"Well, I guess you could say it's a kind of sonar." He had no idea why he was answering her question. It really didn't matter if she knew how he saw or not. "I can see pretty clearly through the blind fold." His reasons for wearing the blind fold were his own. He wasn't going to give it up so easily. Kilian tried to swerve the subject away from the blind fold but not so much so that she'd get suspicious. "We only see in shades of black and gray."
(( I need to figure out a reason for his blind fold. I had never decided on one. I was kind of wanting to do something that would travel over into the art for his Adept stage. I was wanting to take his blind fold and put it up in his hair like a bandana (possibly having his hair be in dreads o: ). So I was thinking some kind of scars around his eyes from an attack or something...but I don't know. Either that or he's just a little shy about his hallow eyes? Either way...maybe Erionda can help coax him into removing his blind fold eventually? ))

Erionda let the information swim in her mind, rolling over as she tried to examine each end of it. How was he able to know she was a Hybrid if he only saw in black and white. Everything about her save her eyes and hair spoke of Dovaa. Even then it was by color, the Hybrids eyes widened as her mind registered her eyes were distinctly different. Shades of grey would easily be told by her eyes. Cursing mentally Erionda shifted her head under anther branch as the pair pulled into a clearing. The sound of trickling water filled the atmosphere around them.
"Here we are." Erionda motioned towards the distant water. Her eyes scanning for the Orderites in the vicinity. "We can not tarry here, and we must move quickly. If we are caught here, I have no idea how much trouble we will find ourselves in. I don't think we could survive if it came down to a battle. I am not skilled enough with my sword to do much, and my skill with ice will only slow them down a little."
Uassae continued to circle above, giving Erionda feedback of the land around them. Lanzecki stopped at the line of the brush, completely refusing to leave the protection of the leaves and trees around him. Giving a soft warning chirp to his new friend to warn her it was probably safe to stay back.
Stepping forward Erionda crept over the land towards the water. Her hair shifting in the light breeze. Her multi colored eyes scanning the land as she moved. Her hand motioning for Kilian to follow. The water was cleaner than the lake she often frequented near her place of rest. She almost wanted to dip her hand in the water and take a drink herself.

Amadia whimpered at the chirping sound her new playmate made. The lake looked so inviting. She wanted so badly to tromp around in it and enjoy a nice swim. "No, Amadia." Kilian whispered quietly as he looked down at the Keinling. "Stay here." His tone was low but serious. Amadia lowered her body to the ground and stayed by Lanzecki's side.
The lake was large. Much larger than Kilian had expected. He scanned their surrounds in the same manner that the hybrid did. "I only need a couple of vials full of the water." He whispered as he quickly followed her to the banks of the lake. Kilian fished out the vials from his pockets and quickly skimmed them in the water, gathering as much as he could into the glass vials. The water flowed over his hand, sending a warm, pleasant feeling up his arm.
He didn't want to move. The feeling was pleasurable and not one he wanted to give up so readily. He was snapped out of his daze, though, when he heard footsteps not too far off into the distance. He jerked his hand out of the lake and put a stopper in the last vial. "I've got what I need." He said as he turned towards the hybrid. "Someone's coming. Lets get out of here." He grabbed her hand and quickly ran back to the cover of the bushes where their Keinlings were obediently waiting for them.
