Lyceum had been less inclined to actually attempt to do the patrolling thing after being attack by a dark mirror, but she was also wary of walking around unable to feel anything at all. There was something to be said about being able to feel things before they creeped up on you . Youma weren't or at least she felt they weren't any less likely to leave you be if you didn't have this magical power.
She frowned, she'd planned to just get to the parking garage. She'd had to stay late at the boutique, organizing a shipment, so it was well after midnight, but after powered up she decided to take the long route. She would feel a bit better that she was at least attempting to be somewhat help, which more importantly (at the moment) keeping her own person out of danger.
Sighing she steeled herself and head in the opposite direction of the parking garage going to make a full circle back around to it.

What Sophie was doing could also be called a patrol, though she never used that term for it. If anyone ever asked her about why she had started to take walks late at night, she told them that the night air helped rejuvenate her after a long day. This was true, but it wasn't the real reason she was out there. Nor was she particularly trying to run into monsters or bad guys. Her goal was to make connections and find information. Rather than a proper patrol, it was really a hunt.
That was a savage term, but it was fitting. She was a hunter, and information was her prey. She had already bagged a good bunch of it, but she was not content yet. Not when there was so much out there that she still didn't have. What she had managed to track down was carefully listed in a memo pad that she carried with her at all times. The first page was a list of keywords that she'd picked up over the past few months. Terms like "Negaverse," "Senshi," and "starseed" were listed there, along with definitions. Or, for the words she was still unsure about, possible definitions. The possible outnumbered the definite by a large margin, making her task even more difficult. And then there were the myriad other questions that plagued her, invading her thoughts even when she was supposed to be working on other things.
Was "starseed stealing" really some sort of terrorist slang for organ harvesting? Were "knights" supposed to be the good guys, or the bad guys? How did they keep the police from knowing what exactly they were doing, despite the obvious surge in crime and missing people? How were people recruited into these mysterious organizations? And what about the mysterious magic that surrounded all of them, the force that enabled people to teleport from one place to another, or to thoroughly disguise their appearance with a simple costume change? Where did it come from? Why did they have it? It was hard to tell. And that was why Sophie continued going on her hunts.
Most hunts were unsuccessful, so when Sophie spotted the woman in some sort of jumpsuit down the street, she picked up the pace. Considering the warm weather, and the fact that the jumpsuit looked unseasonably hot, she hoped to catch up quickly. Really, who wore cable knit in April?"Hey, wait a moment! You- you're one of them, aren't you?" She left 'them' purposefully vague, hoping the woman would fill in the blank on her own. Or at least not run away, like the last guy did when he had gotten sick of answering her questions.

Lyceum turned at the voice and groaned slightly at the question. 'One of them.' It sounded like a bad omen to her. She was one of them and she surely didn't want to be, but she was and it was something she had to live with. Sure she could have avoided it, but her need to know more, her slightly gossipy nature was a guiding force. She didn't fully realize that fact at the moment because hadn't really though on it, but she would eventually.
She didn't feel anything from the girl, good or otherwise and just stared at her for a moment, her frown deepening. Was this girl like, Zia? Running around at night trying to be a teenage superhero. Seriously, she didn't see why anyone would want to do that. The word crazy came to mind. She did wonder about the girl's sanity.
She didn't answer the question instead asking, "should you at home sleep, out partying or something of that nature? Instead of asking total strangers late at night rather odd questions?"

Huh. Sophie supposed she deserved that, to some extent. Her question had been out of nowhere, and she hadn’t phrased it in the most polite way. Still, the attempt to dissuade her wasn’t going to do much. “It’s not late enough for sleep,” she countered, “and why would I be partying when there’s more important things going on? Things I wouldn’t know anything about if I didn’t set aside time to find total strangers and ask them strange questions.”
It was time, Sophie decided, to lay her cards on the table. Not all of them, of course, but enough to give her current “prey” an idea of what she wanted. “I may have stumbled onto this by accident, but that doesn’t mean that I can just look the other way. Now, if you’re just a normal person who makes odd fashion choices, I’ll leave you to it. But if you know about what’s really going on in this city, I want to know what you do.” It went beyond wanting, really, but that was one of the cards that Sophie wasn’t willing to reveal.

Lyceum frowned thinking that the explanation was a load of drivel, but she guessed this was what those who wanted to be good news reporters and journalist did on the regular. She just think it was very sane to be asking magical super humans crazy questions in the middle of the night especially since some were rather keen on trying to kill you.
She frowned even more deeply at the insult Sophie probably hadn't meant to be as insulting as it was to Lyceum. "My outfit is hardly a fashion choice," she said stressing the word choice, "and it tame compared to some." Thought that was from what she remembered at city hall before all this, which definitely wasn't much! Still she eyed the girl trying to soothe her ire. She did not at all take to well to insults.
"You're barking up the wrong tree, so to speak. I'm new to this. I doubt I know anymore than you do. It's likely you know far more than I do, seeing as you conduct late night interviews."

“That’s true,” Sophie agreed. “I’ve seen some really out-there outfits. If you didn’t decide to wear this, was it assigned to you? Who designs these clothes, anyway? There’s no identifying features on them, as far as I can tell. How do you know which organization you’re with, if everyone’s wearing something different, and there’s no rhyme or reason to it?”
It looked to her like all of these so-called terrorists had raided a high school costume department. For a while she’d thought that these things were just what the people liked to wear, but apparently that wasn’t the case. So was there someone who made their living constructing costumes for magical vigilantes? How did one even get into that business?
Oh no, not another person who claimed to know nothing! Sophie shook her head, truly frustrated at this point. “No, I don’t accept that. There must be something that you know and I don’t, or I would be in that costume, not you.” Wow, that was one of the cards she hadn’t meant to show. “I mean, not that costume specifically,” she stammered. “Anyway, let’s start with the basics: who are you, what’s your goal, and how did you get involved with all of this?”

Lyceum was becoming annoyed by the girl, she didn't know the answers to any of those question which only served to irritate her further. She literally knew nothing about this situation at all, save youma attacked you and mirror senshi attacked you too.
"I literally have no idea and you are starting to grate on my nerves. You will get know where with me. The answer to most of your question will likely be I don't know and go ask someone else."
Lyceum groaned because the girl seemed to refuse to believe that she knew very little on the subject of being a knight, of being in this crazy war. Sure she was curious, if she wasn't she wouldnt even be here right now. That, however, only served to remind her that if she took the direct route to parking garage she wouldn't have run into the girl.
"Curiosity killed a cat," she muttered before speaking up, "personally this is the worst interview I have ever had. You might want to try answering those question yourself first before forcing them onto your likely reluctant interviewees. Hmmm, how about that?"
Yes, she was being sarcastic, but she was annoyed and really she'd been interviewed before. If the girl was going to do this, might at well give her a little barbed guidance.
