Name: Tamiya Aiguma
Tamiya: Pulled from the story of Oiwa, the famous Japanese onyro ghost story. The story follows the detestable ronin Tamiya Iemon, who eventually succumbs to madness in part due to being haunted by his wife’s ghost.
Aiguma: Deep indigo/purple makeup used in Kabuki theatre to denote a ghost, demon or evil spirit.

Blood colour: This lovely purple shade: #3a0050)

Gender: Female

Symbol: The obelisk-like shape of an omamori; a charm said to provide good luck and protection from evil.

Personality:

This young troll lives in her own enigmatic world, by her own set of rules. Tamiya’s actions are defined by these – a superstitious set of decrees by which she judges everything. They range from words of wisdom told to her by her lusus: “Always position your recuperacoon away from the sea”, – to physical warnings: “Never strike a redblood four times exactly, or your hand will not stop” – to more general beliefs such as prophecies within dreams. Most prominently, though, is her driving belief that the dead, the spirits, and the powers that be are a constant threat to the living. She does everything in her power to appease the spirits and to will good fortune upon herself, simultaneously fearing for the highbloods who cannot see or believe in the forces of the dead and being wary of the lowblooded psychics who can (and who may have sway over them). This causes much trepidation when she goes outside of her hive, and showcases the seeds of paranoia concerning entities “out to get her” that may plague her in the future.

Tamiya is meticulous about fulfilling her obsessions, and as well she is entrenched in the gospels of the cult familiar with some of her blood-caste. She doesn’t have the typical dark whimsy of her fellow young subjugglators – she’s inescapably uptight and driven to intense seriousness about her religion. The foremost tenet of the juggalos: “follow what your heart feels” has supported her unhealthy fear of the unnatural and for her own bloodcaste against those with the power to upset balance. Speak of the Mirthful Messiahs and damning judgment drives her to be a model highblood.

In fact, she is fairly nationalistic and pro-Imperial, finding that the balance of highbloods and lowbloods is optimal – and constantly in danger of falling to unnatural and rebellious activity. While she treats any troll lower than blue with the same amount of stiff formality as any other, she finds it tough to trust warmbloods based upon her teachings. She looks up to those trolls who keep the balance on Alternia – excising the unnaturals (namely, mutants and some particularly heinous powered trolls) and hopes to one day become a subjugglator to control and make the population pure.

Her lusus and her faith have instilled in her distrust in books and science. She is obstinate about her beliefs, and refuses to partake in arguments of her religion or against what she believes – she often throws violent tantrums in contrast with her otherwise mature exterior, and it takes a great amount to calm her down. In the same vein, the way Tamiya speaks is rather jarring compared to her elegant appearance. Growing up learning the gospel has solidified a juggalo drawl into her speech, but in contrast she insists on learning and referring to trolls by their surnames rather than by their blood color – out of respect for etiquette and superstitious belief. The combination of formal and informal may be a surprising effect for those unfamiliar with her speech patterns.

Outside of her prominent peculiarities, Tamiya is a troll that enjoys quiet from time to time. She loves to tend to her rock garden, where she can control the elements to her liking. She also enjoys witnessing performances of all kinds, from theatre to blackrom slam poetry. She and Kabukidad share this trait, and he will often accompany her to such events, which she enjoys very much. She isn’t particularly interested in her other outings with her lusus, however. In seeking to educate his charge on the ills of the world, he will occasionally take her on a forced vacation, much to her resentment. She finds change disturbing, and sometimes spends the entire span of this holiday rearranging furniture rather than presenting herself to others. These cultural outings are when Tamiya is most at edge.

Strengths:

Principled:
Tamiya’s code may be a little twisted, but she follows it to a T and doesn’t paint outside the lines (in fact, some may say that she doesn’t paint at all!). Her code of honor, even at this young age, is forming into a firm set of standards which gives her clear-cut decisiveness. Likewise, it’s a perfect set of instructions for trolls to follow if they need something from Tamiya, because there is a method to her madness.

Methodical:

The purpleblood is meticulous about her duties, and never leaves loose ends for fear of spiritual retribution or bad luck. She considers these oversights to be deadly, and takes every effort to plan out an exacting course of action for all of her plans. While she’s young and doesn’t have a sense of leadership quite yet, her work around the hive is immaculate because of this trait.

Courteous:
Being civil to others—whether high or lowblood – has always been a skill of the young troll. She always attempts to leave a social interaction with herself on a moral high ground (using her own moral code, of course), for fear that the unrest or malintent of a troll she has wronged will return to her with karmic force. While she may not trust or be comfortable around those of lower blood caste, she makes every effort to appease and is quite charitable for this reason.

Flaws:
Paranoid:
Tamiya has a sneaking suspicion that something is out to get her. Her mistrust at this age comes from her fear of ghosts above all else, but in the future entails deep obsession with lowbloods and their supernatural powers pertaining to such spirits. This puts her on edge at all times, and makes it hard for her to open up to those who don’t follow her code as exactly as she does. It also doesn’t help her obsessive compulsions to complete her rituals any, and she wastes an amazing amount of time through stress and ensuring that no one can undo or overthrow her.

Volatile:
When something doesn’t go her way, whether it be bad luck or the desecration of one of her many laws, Tamiya is apt to throwing huge tantrums. Kabukidad recognizes that they’ll probably turn into something much more violent and particularly foreboding in the future, so he does nothing to quell her rage. Subjugglators have to start somewhere! Tamiya is very unstable when she’s not in her element, and is a force to be reckoned with when she goes out of control. These events exhaust her and cause her a huge amount of grief afterwards, and making amends for her actions takes up more time than her huge blow-ups.

Obsessive:

Her many habits pile up; other trolls may find Tamiya’s constant adjusting and fretting irritating, and it eats up much of her time. If something isn’t just right, she’ll go out of her way to fix it – sometimes even getting in other troll’s business to attempt to correct him. She won’t take no for an answer if what’s at stake is retaliation from a malevolent spirit, and is obstinate about how she is in the right. It’s hard for her to resist leaving things alone in social situations, as well, and if she feels as though something is amiss she will incessantly pursue closure.

Weapon: Tamiya wields an oversized bamboo and metal kiseru. She practices fighting with her lusus using the pipe-turned-weapon, but typically doesn’t leave the hive with it for convenience.

Appearance: The young troll has a rather stiff and formal appearance, keeping with her perfectionism. She wears a basic black kimono with indigo and purple floral trim on her long sleeves. Over this, she wears boyish hakama, which are grey in color and boast pristine pleats – Tamiya’s extremely religious about keeping her clothes tidy. She takes pride in her floral-print wedge geta, which are black with a matching floral pattern to her kimono.

Her hair is pulled back and up into a tight, neat braid, but she retains a youthful fringe in the front, with two long pieces of hair framing either side of her face. When for some reason her hair isn’t up, it falls extremely long and has a coarse texture to it. Her horns emerge at harsh angles from the roots of her fringe. They are rather thin in appearance, and they broaden briefly near the tips before ending in a point. They resemble kanzashi hairsticks.

Most prominently featured is Tamiya's face paint. She has opted for a more elegant take on the religious facepaint worn by those of her class, and has adapted such for a fearsome and dramatic appearance. Her face is painted white with purple and indigo colors making up the linework that accentuate her expressions dramatically.

Home: Tamiya and her lusus reside in Old Hemisect City, in a grand theatre-turned-hive near the water. Tamiya’s lusus found the spot a perfect place for his charge, with close proximity to the mighty Goly’b Goly’b feeding into Tamiya’s religious teachings. Her hive is kept pristine with the ordinances that she places upon herself based upon her many rituals. Each room is kept a particular way, leaving the energy open and free of nasty spirits. She takes daily care to nudge furniture (it wanders, she swears) back into position and dust, which she finds a relaxing pleasure in. It’s a good way for her to unwind, and she typically feels very comfortable in her hive. In fact, finding her in her home is a good opportunity to see a more peaceful and stable Tamiya.

Her respiteblock is equally prim and matches the rest of her hive. She has prints of flowers and elegant landscapes of Alternia artfully placed on her walls, and a variety of mats to sit and play on.

The prevalence of ghost stories and eerie spiritual unrest surrounding the place has not done any favors for Tamiya’s constitution, and while she is in Old Hemisect outside of her “purified” home, she becomes quite uptight and on edge.

Lusus: Tamiya’s lusus, Kabukidad, is a fox-like creature with a strange, humanoid form. His baggy skin and neck hole are quite uncanny, and don’t particularly seem to suit the predatory creature that he is. However, Tamiya is proud of his agility, and though he has an awkward gait, he can run on all fours very quickly and is quite adept at running up walls! His deadly nature is something that Tamiya admires.

Kabukidad has great influence over his charge, and has passed much of his “wisdom” about the world to her. He is very proud of Tamiya, and is everpresent in her endeavors, not leaving the house unless she does and following her quietly when she wishes to go out for a walk. Kabukidad is concerned that Tamiya is becoming introverted, and takes her out on many trips to become culturally aware. A young subjugglator has to know the people she keeps in line, after all. While many trolls may feel stifled by such an overbearing lusus, Tamiya doesn’t seem to mind. Kabukidad has only spoken truths to her, after all, so clearly he knows best.
