It was a routine that Boaz had gotten used to by now, with the first Friday of every month set aside for teaching the medical students back at his alma mater Destiny City University. Usually it would be a Problem Based Learning tutorial with an entirely hypothetical clinical case that the university had come up with for discussion. Nothing terribly complicated since one had to bear in mind the level of knowledge these students had at this point of their learning.
He was already done for the day, the handouts for next month's tutorial in the folder tucked beneath his arm as he made his way through the campus with his lunch - a strawberry smoothie and a tuna sandwich from the college cafeteria, looking for a relatively inconspicuous spot to enjoy his food and do some people watching before he had to be on his way. It hadn't really been that long since his graduation. Slightly more than a year, maybe going on to two even. Time always seemed to fly whenever one got so busy to the point of not paying attention and it made him wonder how long it would be till he couldn't recognize the university campus and people anymore.

Mathias was seated on the green of the campus lawn, sketch pad in hand as he idly sketched the world around him in an effort to see if any of them would come out as a good painting. The campus was not a great place to find inspiration usually for still life or landscapes, mainly to do with the fact that it was in constant motion during the day and the lunch hour was no exception. He had chanced to look up as the blond doctor passed by on the path. He remembered him quite clearly from the marathon and the events following, so it didn't take long for him to make up his mind. "HEY!" he called as the older male had barely walked by. "Take a seat and eat, we'll talk."Hopefully the other male would recognize him just as quickly too.

If it was any other day, Boaz might not have stopped unless one tried to get his attention by calling out his name. It was after all a public place and that particular 'hey' could have been directed at anyone else other than him. As luck would have it, today was not one of those days and that got his attention, a huge smile on his face as he plopped himself down on the spot just next to Mathias.
"Hey. You're... Mathias right?" He had little trouble remembering him alright. Kind of hard to forget one of the other winners of the marathon really after spending the rest of that day tackling interviews and posing for photos together with them both.
He took a swig of his smoothie, enjoying the rich flavour as he took his time to peel the wrapper from his sandwich. "So you're a student here huh? What's your major?" Normal run of the mill conversation topics for now since it would never hurt getting to know someone whom you would likely be working together with at some point. They could always talk about that in the open when the lunch crowd started to thin a little.

"That's my name - if I recall correctly you're Boaz right?" Mathias didn't take his eyes off the landscape as the man sat down, his fingers were tracing lines across the page slowly and deliberately as he spoke. "Yeah, I'm an art major - painting mainly," He turned the pad a little so Boaz could see his current sketch, just a standard landscape of the greensward. "So what about you? You're not a student here are you?" Raising a brow a bit at the slightly older man he smirks. "Cause I don't think I'd buy that - not unless you were working on your masters or something."

"Mmm hmm." Setting his smoothie down on the lawn, Boaz took a bite out of his sandwich, nodding a few times as he hummed his response at the mention of his name. He wouldn't be offended really if Mathias admitted to not remembering it or got him mixed up with the other guy. Come to think of it, they did go through quite a lot of things that day until the evening culminated to their corruption, which was in actuality the main purpose behind the Hunger Games marathon itself. Survival of the best indeed. If only the public knew that they had all been played the fool.
"Looks like it's shaping up pretty good. Which year of your studies are you in?" He gave the sketch an appreciative look over before giving Mathias a grin and the thumbs up. It wasn't something that he could see himself capable of ever. "Nope. I'm a teacher with the Medical faculty actually. Part time to be exact since my main vocation is at the hospital." His talents lied in other areas and he had long since come to realize and gone on to pursue that.
"You're pretty good at this, aren't you? You wouldn't happen to be with... Intelligence?" It was a pot shot in the dark but he figured that his chances of getting it right was good, considering that it was 50/50.

Mathias chuckles a bit as he looks down at the sketchpad. "Eh, I'm just doodling really, trying to get a good basis for a painting and I'm not really coming up with much." He set the sketchpad aside and turned to Boaz. "Eh, I'm hoping to be Spec-Ops actually. I'm not really big on listening and learning when I can run around and crack open some skulls.""I'm in my third year of studies, but I may go for a graduates once I finish up my four year degree."

"I see. A school assignment or a warm up exercise to work up the inspiration for something else? What do you see yourself doing in the long run when you enter the job market eventually?" Boaz was naturally curious as always though even more so when it came to another individual from another walk of life that he himself was unfamiliar with as evident by the questions that kept coming in the midst of his own thought process in trying to understand how Mathias ticked.
Taking another bite of his sandwich, he mulled for a bit over the younger male's pick among the three Negaverse branches available, his gaze growing even curiouser as he gave the other another look over. "Spec-Ops huh? Been hitting up the gym lots and pumping irons?" It was obvious that he was of the opinion that those who made it into Spec-Ops would typically be those with rippling muscles like those of the professional bodybuilders, or possess at least some muscle bulk to lend more weight behind every punch that they threw at their opponents. Not that he ever doubted for a moment that Mathias lacked the ability to justify his choice of course.

"Nah, nothing that fancy, just something to kill time," Mathias chuckled, looking down at the paper in his lap. "I like landscapes, they can change over time yeah - but the lay of the land is almost always the same no matter how many times you paint it. You can even see the subtle differences between older and newer paintings of the same place. It's soothing to me."Shaking his head he chuckles. "I hit the gym twice a day, as far as job prospects, I don't know yet. I haven't really thought that far ahead."He shrugged a bit and huffed. "I just figured I get good at what I do and go from there."

"That is true. You still have time to ponder over that. No hurry really plus it will be wise to pick something that allows you some leeway with your schedule so that you can tend to the duties outside of your eventual job scope at the same time." Boaz offered, obviously referring to their responsibilities in the Negaverse by that without being anymore explicit. He was speaking from his own personal experience at the moment really, his recent corruption coming approximately a year after his graduation and entrance into the hospital residency program. The work and training in his civilian life were already quite a bit to deal with. So much so that he hardly had time to tend to his personal needs much lest hobbies and he probably might have gotten into quite a bit of trouble with the Negaverse had he not been accepted into the Infiltration branch to begin with.
"Good at what you do, you say? Can't really say the same for me unfortunately..." Still, there were quite a couple of things that he could use some work on like combat training if they were going to have to fight the hostile Senshis and Knights whom they could potentially come across. He was very acutely aware of that, hence the tentative request that followed thereafter. "If you're not opposed to having a punching bag to trade blows with, I don't suppose that we could train together some time perhaps..?" Some things had to be done the hard way after all plus it might make a difference between life and death for all he knew.

"I'd love to set up a training regime for you if you're up for it." Mathias chuckled, putting the sketchpad down and turning his full attention to Boaz. "Though I'll tell you what - take a week and get all nice and rested up and hydrated - you'll thank me later. I will get in touch with you later this week to let you know when and were to meet me. I think we're going to have to take some drastic measures - no offense, but you don't seem the 'work out type.'"Stretching his arms a bit over his head he yawned and shook it slowly. "But yeah - we can do that." Tilting his head, he heard a light pop as his spine loosened and he let out a light sigh. "So a week from now? I'll give you time and place - sound good?"

"Sounds like a plan. Something like the Hunger Games marathon that we went through? Or worse?" Boaz finished the last of his sandwich then gave Mathias a nod to indicate his agreement with the proposed plan. The younger male sounded like he knew his way with the physical training thing so he figured that the least he could do was to take his advice and ensure that he was ready for whatever he intended to subsequently throw his way when the week was up.
"No offense taken really since that pretty much is the truth. A week from now it shall be then. I suppose that you'll need my number?" He smiled at him, an appreciative look on his face as he took another sip from his smoothie then set it down to that he could reach for his phone.

"Haha, worse, don't eat anything you're attached to, too much - you'll probably become very well acquainted with it before we're done." Mathias grinned, looking down at his sketch before look at Boaz as he fished out his phone. "Well yes, I suppose that would be better than talking into a rock I suppose."

"Got it. Nothing too heavy short of light food such as granola bars and stuff on that day at least then." Boaz thought aloud to himself. Already he was trying to imagine just what kind of infernal routine Mathias was thinking of putting him through as part of the training regime to get him into a better form by the time he encountered his first Senshi or Knight. However it turned out subsequently, it probably wasn't for those faint of heart but he figured that the least he could do short of showing his appreciation was to put his best foot forward and try his utmost to see it through to its end.
He looked puzzled when Mathias spoke next about talking into a rock, though that lasted for about five seconds max till he figured that the younger male was referring to the communicator that they were privy to as Negaverse agents. "Ah that, yes. I suppose that you can put it that way though it isn't really too far from what it's made of." He chuckled at the point blank reference to the device itself, his fingers already sliding across the screen to input the pattern that would unlock his phone. "So what's your number then? I can give you a missed call on your cell once I have it saved on mine."
Torvil It's not that bad really. Lol... ^^

Mathias rattled off his number to Boaz, he didn't go too fast so that the other male couldn't catch every digit, but he didn't make him wait for each number either. Mathias had no qualms with offering his number up to the older man, mainly because they worked for the same organization and that meant that they were teammates. Mathias didn't mind sharing information with a fellow team member, even if it was of a personal nature. The better they knew each other the more cohesive they could be. The less likely they would misstep and ruin any potentially well laid plans. "Yeah, that's probably a good idea." He nodded at the mention of eating light the day before. "You'll want high energy food - but nothing that's going to sit in your stomach for long."

Taking down the number that Mathias gave him, Boaz saved it on his phone before dialing the number and letting it ring a few times in order to give him a missed call like he said he would. ""Alright. And you should have a missed call from me on your cell when you check on it next."
He informed the other male, an apologetic look crossing his face next as he replaced the phone in his pocket following a quick check of the time that was displayed on its screen. "I'd better get going. Am expected back at the hospital once the lunch hour's up. It was great talking to you Mathias." They would be seeing each other again pretty soon in a week or so and as much as he wanted to get to know the younger male better, he couldn't afford to spare anymore time lest he neglected his duties back at the hospital.
