I do agree that people can be the cruelist living things on this planet sometimes. But know that they wouldn't have to push you down, if you were above them in the first place. You're a beautiful human being, like all of us.
I, too, am a very loving individual and yet, people are mean to me all the time. I will sometimes stand up for myself and sometimes not. Sometimes if it is a mild insult I will act like it is a compliment. But what you have been called are pretty offensive, I wouldn't take those lightly. If it is the same bar you go to, you can probably talk to the manager or bartender there. They might either confront the disrespectful person or call the cops depending on how abusive they are.
You have every right to those bars, as much a right as they do to them. You should not be scared to be in one or feel threatened when all you want to do is have fun. That would be my recommendation. Bars usually have some rules of conduct, that are for everyone's safety. When people are asses to you or abuse you in any way they are most likely disrespecting those rules.
