Marie Belle hummed quietly to herself as she looked at her map. She wanted to make sure that she and her friend Luna were going in the right direction. They where both heading towards Verdantuff Town to enter the Pokemon Contests being held at the Town. Marie was hoping to enter her Skitty Berri in the Cute Contest. She had been working with the little kitten like pokemon for months and she thought they had a decent chance of winning the contest. Berri wasn’t quiet as big a ham as some of the other pokemon that could be entered but he had a very lovable personality and was in Marie’s humble opinion one of the most adorable Skitty’s to ever exist. Her other two pokemon would be sitting this contest series out, as her Mareep wasn’t quiet contest ready and her other Skitty wasn’t interested in contests at all.
After a few more minutes of looking at the map Marie was satisfied that they were on the proper path and she turned to her attention to her best friend Luna and their pokemon. “You ready to head out? If I’m reading the map right we should make it to a rest house before the evening and then it shouldn’t be that long of a journey to Verdantuff Town.” She said to her friend with a smile looking over to see what the other girl was up to. Of the two Luna was the more serious trainer and tended to focus on winning and capturing pokemon with a bit more intensity than Marie. Marie was happy to coo over her current group and keep on the look out for those pokemon she thought would make adorable additions to her team. Her dream was actually to one day go to Unova and find some of their more adorable pokemon, but for now she was happy enough to pamper her current group.
She turned around just to see her Pip her more rambunctious Skitty take another shot at tackling Pooch, Luna’s Poochyena. The little thing did so enjoy stalking everything she set her sights on and as usual Pooch wasn’t taking that lying down. The little pup attempted to take a bite of Pip and within seconds the two were in yet another scuffle with Marie watching onward in worry. “Pip! Pip no, I told you to stop pestering Pooch. You come here right now you naughty kitty.” Marie said in her best stern ‘ I mean business ‘ voice. Her other two Pokemon watched the commotion from their spot resting in the sun with little interest. Marie once again attempted to wrangle the two squabbling pokemon before finally managing to catch hold of Pip as she scampered away from Pooch. “Now look you've gotten your fur all in disarray. You know what that means, time for some grooming.” Marie said softly smoothing Skitty’s fur with her hand before reaching into her bag to gather one of her brushes to smooth out the rest.
