Gellion had never been to exotic lands to kill exotic creatures for their delightful bounty. When he'd decided to take a trip to improve his skills and test himself against the dark forces of the world, one could become weak if you only fought the same opponents all the time. There were some rare finds to be had out here; deep in the desert once you got past the damn sand. The place certainly wasn't dead, despite the unbearable heat and torment of the sand everywhere. He felt like his boots had been filled with pounds of the stuff and every movement was pushing against an invisible barrier of wind and tiny granules. One learned in school that sand was just tiny rocks, ground down by wind and water over centuries of decay and tear. A long battle. Well, it was a terrifying thought to imagine; how many years and the tremendous force that had gone into making Eowyn. There were supposed to be dragons out here, in this strange wasteland, and other things. It seemed like the sort of place that he could truly deepen his skills; a good place for a man to be isolated. Quote: Quote: For whatever reason, you are on Eowyn. Perhaps you have come looking for Kiandri or Firani Dragons to kill, perhaps you have come to steal Drakein eggs, or maybe you are just exploring this dry land. As you wander the desert you spot a strange cave entrance in the side of a sand dune. When you go to investigate you can see that after the tunnel goes down somewhat there is a stone door engraved with Drakein figures. If you knock on the door continue reading, otherwise leave and do not continue this adventure. You hear a grumbling and muttering form the other side as whoever lives here comes to open the door. Before you stands a strange reptilian looking man. He looks more dragon than man, and behind his back float two ethereal skulls. If you have a bonded with you, he attacks and you must flee before his power! He does not condone Magescians who enslave his people. You must quit or choose a different path. If there are no Bonded with you, then continue reading. "What d'ya want?" he growls grumpily, “I’ve got things to do and no time for foolish games." he pauses and thinks for a moment. "Actually, on second thought...I do have a use for you." He grins malevolently and reaches out to grab your arm and drag you into his lair. His room has spikes hanging from the ceiling, fur rugs cover his floors and trophies line his walls. There are no chairs, only large cushions and low tables in the room. "I need three ingredients for an enchantment I'm creating. And you, fool, will get them for me! I haven't the time for these pitiful errands...there is a situation that requires my attention to be here. If you wish to leave here alive you will do as I say; otherwise, I'll have my minions hunt you down and you don't want to know what they'll do." he says as he gestures to the floating skulls behind him. "Just so you know, I am not completely heartless. If you complete the tasks I have in store for you, I'll let you live and give you a Dragon Orb...possibly even a Dragon's Tear as well for your efforts." he states as he smirks cruelly at you. Go to Task 1.

Quote: Task One He demands you bring back some Dark Sand from around the Twilight Pillar. While the threat seemed too vague for Gellion's taste, the taboo of retrieving sands from the pillar of twilight, one of his people's places of power was a delightful thought. As a boy he would never have thought to venture to such a dangerous place. Now, still green, this task held all the appeal of something that he was capable of, and yet still bore the dangers that only a skilled man of the sword might swathe through. The trek back to Soudul was easier faring than the hike through endless desert and he found his eyes felt better for the return to the calmer, dank weather of his homeland. The harsh desert had ground on all senses. It was hard to miss the twilight pillar, and harder still to get lost; he made light and easy time to the task and found that retrieving the sand was a simple enough task; part of him expected it to contain some obvious properties, but it was clearly not as wondrous to his unskilled eyes as to the alchemist's. This time, he found his way back to the desert easier going and was soon delivering the long thin vial with a hint of disappointment that it had not gained him greater adversaries.

Again, such a well known location. The place where all the souls of the Oblivionites are said to be drawn from them at birth? A terrible sea and tide that only his people could feel; the darkness of a Goddess' blood or the tears of ancient wrath. So much myth surrounded that place that it was hard to tell where one story ended and another began. The return through the desert was quicker, easier again this time. The welcome darkness of his homeland a balm to his skin. But Gellion was mindful that the mystical properties of the water should only be obvious to his people, what use would a hermit in the desert have for it? Hmm. The man begged no questions, a harsh demeanour, but clearly more bark than bite. Quote: He laughs and sends you all the way back to Soudul with the task of going to Lake Koralifel and bring back some of its dark waters. This will take IC time to get there and back. Feel free to RP whatever adventures or misadventures you have along the way.

Of course retrieving some of the abyssal, powerful water is not any trouble, few would dare attempt it though. Fear and superstition rule the weak. A strong man does not have time to care for myths with no more evidence than a prickling at the back of his neck.
He had spent the trek through the desert amusing himself with the sort of delicious vegetable roast that some of the more exotic plants out here might make when the first vestiges of the sandstorm hit. the wind rose to a howl, the air itself feeling as though it were crushing him.
The fierce storm took him by surprise and he found that this 'bothersome' environment could so speedily turn deadly.
Quickly seeking refuge from the oncoming storm proved difficult and soon he found himself caught in the onslaught. hunkering down the precious potion of lake water at his side cracked from the movement and water trickled away, falling prey to the storm.
As the weather subsided, Gellion found himself empty-handed. Irritation rose in him, knowing that there was not enough time to return with another vial; the time limit had been so sharply set.
A warrior does not run from his failings. With gritted teeth he returned for the scolding and wining of the drakkien.

Quote: Task 3:For his last task he tells you to go out into the desert and find the strange construction site that the Orderites have been working at. He tells you that near the site a very special herb grows that he wants you to pick. The herb is small, dark green, and has very spiky stem with spiky leaves at it's top. It's called Thistlethorn. This will take IC time to get there and back. Feel free to RP whatever adventures or misadventures you have along the way. Finding yet another odd ingredient for some sort of experiment, at least it was not as far to travel back and forth between here and his homeland. He accepted that finding the oasis would be something of an annoyance, since desert lands were notoriously hard to cartography and this one was such a dragon-infested place. Despite that, he went anyway. Two weeks of searching and he almost ran out of water by the time a sandstorm drove him to seek refuge in some caves and he followed the path of grasses to a hidden entrance to the tiny oasis and its bounty.

Quote: Rhazes smiles, so he was right in having you do this. Apparently not all Magescians are worthless meat bags. Now he has his stuff and he didn’t have to do anything! Go to the next Task or Final if you have just finished Task 3. If Rhazes received all 3 you get the Diabli Orb and a Ysali Dragon's Tear. He says that perhaps you might be useful in the future. If Rhazes only received 2 out of 3 items then you receive an Aiskala Orb instead and he sighs and says while useful, you aren’t worth more of his time than he has already given you. If he gets only one item then you only get a Firani Orb and he growls in disgust about how pathetic and useless you are. He then kicks you out into the desert and says that you need more training before you are worth more of his time. If he gets nothing he roars on and on about useless meat bags and how stupid and worthless a Magescian/you (if Drakein) is. He kicks you out after you have been yelled at or gotten your reward. What an interesting development. Although not the rare ingredients or meal that he had been hoping for, certainly the orb of the Aiskala is a valuable commodity. After wasting so much time running back and forth on such an errand, he let himself out with little worry about the time he had spent. It was his time to spend.
