Leucite had taken to one of his favorite places in the city for this nights patrol. He was still new, so he was sticking to places he knew. Taking to the rooftops in order to get a good feel for the area. He wasn't too keen on going into this blind, and he had a feeling that because he was so new, unless he lucked out and ran into a completely green enemy, he'd probably get his a** handed to him. Not that he wasn't a decent fighter in his own right.

Still, he made a mental note to seek out one of the more experienced officers and see if he could learn the ropes from them. His father had always told him never to repeat anyone else mistakes. So if he could find out what people have done already - and what worked and what didn't.

Well, he'd be a damn sight better off that was for sure. Leaning against an AC unit, he surveyed the area, looking to see if he could spot any movement against the backdrop of the skyline.

Some would call Captain Labyrinthite a lone wolf as he preferred to patrol solo more often than not. It wasn't that he disliked the company of others, or that he didn't respect the orders of Metallia (who commanded the officers of the negaverse to patrol with a senshi from the dark mirror court) but simply because he had few bonds with any agent of chaos that ran deep.

He had also found that sometimes, getting what you wanted done was simply easie when done by oneself. Still, the pink-streaked dark haired man was making an effort to break free of those constraints by actively seeking anyone with a chaotic energy signal and attempting to engage.

With a few exceptions of course.

In order to fufuill his purpose, to live up to and surpass the expectations of the higher powers who granted him with the abilities to change the world he needed to be more proactive.

That was what lead him to resting upon the edge of a rooftop, legs dangling over the sides as he sat observing his surroundings and focusing his energy on detecting the energy signals. It was a rare night when he was not "hunting" a senshi or engaging anyone on the order side.

No, tonight his purpose was different.

When he saw movement three streets down he stood, pinpointing the energy pulse. Chaos. He leaped into the air, launching himself across the space between roofs with a grace that came from practice. Then he headed towards the lieutenant.

There was his movement, and Leucite kept his eyes focused on the black spec against the backdrop of the skyline before it finally solidified into a human figure. He assessed the figure, and decided that all signs pointed to it being another member of the Negaverse. Maybe they had actual patrol schedules or set patrols and he was in another person's area?

Even so, he'd worry about that when the other Negaverse member landed, but he wasn't going to be a slob about it until they did. He was trying to make and keep a good impression of himself with the other members of the Negaverse. They ran a tight ship by the look of things and the last thing Leucite wanted to deal with was being the one offset nail in the bunch.

Stepping away from the AC unit and onto the roof proper, which formed a nice little alcove more than large enough to accommodate at least four to five people, he allowed himself to fall into an easy parade rest. His eyes continued to track the oncoming figure. Curiosity had now taken a firm hold.

A good word to describe the captain was bold. He had no problem going up to someone and addressing them, whether the reason was good or bad. His disregard for safety often led him to act without thinking, though he was constantly calculating, and he had easily earned the title reckless. But there were no rewards worth grabbing without risks.

It took him five short minutes to reach the lieutenant.

He landed on the farthest edge of the roof appearing to teeter. There was no risk of him falling, or getting injured, because it was clear that he was standing exactly as he intended. "You look a bit green," he commented casually, amber eyes sweeping across Leucite's frame. He was evaluating the man. "Must be new," he stated a smirk spreading across his lips.

"Best if you didn't travel alone," he informed him, complimented by a shake of his head. "These are dangerous times, dangerous places. There are plenty pests who wouldn't hesitate to try and destroy you."

"You look a bit green...Must be new,"

Leucite frowned at the words - was it that obvious? He had worried about that, the last thing he wanted was to be marked as an easy target. At the other officers warning, he started to size the other man up himself, taking in the pink in his hair and the way he held himself. He seemed pretty sure of himself, but that still didn't stop Leucite from being himself.

"Seems like you don't practice what you preach... Sir," Leucite said, the tone of his voice wasn't harsh, just stating a matter of fact.

"Yes, I am new, recently awakened," He went from parade rest to attention in a smooth motion and snapped off a crisp salute. "Lt. Leucite reporting for duty,"

Allowing the salute to drop he slid back into parade rest and watched the other officer for a moment before his mouth again opened.

"Since you advise that we not travel alone, and you seem to know what you're doing - perhaps you can show me the ropes and we can travel together, maybe if one of these pests you are talking about shows up I can show you I'm not completely useless, green though I may be."

You don't practice what you preach.

The phrase was enough to make the man laugh. Oh, if he hadn't heard that one before. "There are plenty out there who would rather not engage me from the white moon side," he stated simply, smirk broadening as he shook his head. "I have accomplished more than most would dare to dream of," he informed the new recruit. "And I'm only a Captain. Imagine how much more I can do before and after I am promoted."

The possibilities were endless for him, he could only go up.

"Captain Labyrinthite," he introduced himself, complete with a over-extenuated bow. His hand swept across his midsection, head dipped low and one foot slid behind the other to deepen the bow. He stood up and strolled towards Leucite. "I chose to be alone simply for the opportunity to happen upon another," he stated casually stopping a few feet from his companion.

"The night had been quiet," he commented, head tilting back to gaze up at the stars blinking in the sky. "Seems like the senshi have been laying low," he seemed to lament. He had been tracking one particular senshi lately, but since her encounter with both him and the redheaded General Sassolite she had seemingly gone into hiding. Until he finished dealing with her, he was reluctant to move on to a new target. He didn't like half finished jobs.

"But we'll see. You may think yourself confident but you know not what you dealing with. There are many of varying skills," he cautioned. "Their magic is unpredictable. And be careful when tangling with someone of a higher rank." He had received many a beating from the powerful Sailor Iris, though not without leaving his own mark.

Leucite nodded his head taking in everything the captain had said and taking it - with a grain of salt - to heart. The man seemed overly prideful in his opinion, but was not in the mood - nor of the mind - to see if he could back up his boasting. Better then, to attempt to make a friend of the man, as he was a higher rank than himself, and potentially learn all he could from him.

"I will keep that in mind," Leucite said with a bow of his head, his arms still behind his back as he spoke to the captain, his stance remained at parade rest partly out of respect - but mostly because it was a damn comfortable way to stand.

"It is a shame that it's been quiet, I have been wanting to make my mark on the other side myself," Leucite said to the other man, looking out over the city. "While I do not know much about our enemy, I know that they can't be suffered to live." He allowed a sly, infectious smile to grace his lips. "Perhaps it is lucky fate that you happened upon me. I am in need of knowledge about what I am to expect form the enemy, and you are a wealth of knowledge of the subject," a little flattery never hurt.

"I would love nothing more than to learn how to best make these senshi suffer."

"It'd be wise to keep from being too eager," the captain cautioned, giving the lieutenant a once over.

He had made the mistake as a rookie and he would advise Leucite from doing the same. "It is best to keep from getting in over your head," he laughed, darkly. "The mistake is easily made." He thought back to all the beatings he had taken during his time as a lieutenant.

There had been a time when the captain believed heavily on luck, but now with the way his life had changed he knew better. There was no such thing as luck, only destiny. Everything happened for a reason. "I doubt luck has anything to do with it, lady fate saw the meeting fit and so it has come to pass." In many ways it was a shame he knew not of his past lives and his connections to those he so constantly dueled from the other side.

"I'm sure I could provide you with a lesson or two."

Leucite nodded slowly at the Captain's first comment, storing the information he was receiving in the back of his mind. "I would appreciate anything you'd be willing to teach Captain." Leucite saluted again, before allowing himself to relax a little.

"I will try to keep myself from getting too eager, and making mistakes - but I really want to prove myself to the Negaverse."

They'd chosen him for a reason right? He wanted to prove he was worth the effort.

Labyrinthite appreciated Leucite's eagerness because he had been that eager once. Of course his reasoning and enjoyment from the negaverse in the early days came from his history of being a troublemaker. Things had changed since then and the captain had evolved, grown from his past and his experiences.

He considered the lieutenant's comment for a moment, mentally weighing it. "Very well," he answered. His golden gaze swept across his dark uniform. "Be warned, I am a harsh teacher. I do not go easy and I expect nothing but the best," he paused to assess how the other would react. "Is that understood?"

When he had made his decisions, just before captaincy, he had sought out the toughest instructors and no mercy was given to him. He would be the same because he expected results and nothing good was achieved without hard work and pain.

Leucite nodded his head, allowing himself to go back to attention and snap off another salute. "Understood, Sir." He honestly hadn't expected anything less. This was a war after all - you either went hard or you died.

He would like to avoid dying for as long as humanly possible.

"Just tell me where to start."

He was all ears.

"You'll need to make regular use of the communicator that should have been provided to you, if you haven't received one then get one," he instructed, arms folding over his chest. He may have only been a captain but he ran a tight ship like a general. "It is how we will keep in contact," he stated. "I am a member of special operations, for now and until you decide if that will be your formal branch that is where you will be stationed."

He probably shouldn't have been making those decisions for Leucite but he had agreed to follow the directions given and as such Labyrinthite was mentally deeming him part of his team. "As such, you will stick to a regular and rigorous training schedule." This was something he would not budge on. "If you have reservations about taking a life then I am not the person you should train under." He had taken the lives of two people and hadn't hesitated to attempt to kill another.

Special Operations was called in whenever someone couldn't do a job.

"If you feel like there is anything in your life more important than your duties, your responsibilities in the Negaverse then I am certainly not the captain for you." His faith was unshakable. He had been distant before but no longer.

"Any questions?"

Leucite didn't need to think very long - there was only one thing that could have distracted him from the Negaverse, and he was sure she'd understand if he was out late doing side-work, so he wasn't too worried about it. At least - not yet.

"Sir, the only question I have is when do I start," He was ready to learn all he could from the captain. He wanted to prove to him that he had what it took to keep up.

"Training begins Saturday at 6 in the morning. I will provide you with a location tomorrow, you will arrive fifteen minutes prior powered," he instructed. If he did not appear strict (and really, he was strict) then his words could weigh little to the other man. "Be prepared to be there all day. No exceptions." Leucite would learn that he had signed up for quite the ride.

"Now my question for you, is what information did they provide you?" Labyrinthite had found that the flow of information was often...non existent. It had been, particularly, among the corrupted senshi but had even flowed to new recruits. It was disappointing.

Leucite nodded and made a mental note to clear his schedule. "Roger that sir, I'll be there with bells on.."

Well not really - because that would be moronic. But still...

"I was awakened by General-King Howlite... She told all of us... Some things. Why we fight. Who our enemy is - but further than that..." He shrugged a little.

"I have picked up what I can here and there, but I haven't been briefed on anything specific."
