His first Ysali of the day had just up and left, abandoning the young hybrid within the forest, all on his own once more, a little on the huffy side. To think that the dragon would just leave like that, it was, to say the least, unexpected. He had thought that they were more likely to attack but that one had decided that it was going to retreat instead. He was starting to think that the dragons were just messing with him now. It was as though they knew he was looking for them now instead of just wanting to have a nice, calm, peaceful walk in the woods. While he was out looking for nothing more then a fun walk he ran across them almost constantly, when he went out specifically to find himself a dragon he couldn't seem to find more then one that had flown off the moment he'd challenged it. Such a bother... but he knew for a fact that there were more Ysali out in the forest to find, he just had to keep up the search was all. Given enough time, enough effort, and enough drive he was going to find one of them!
It was a few hours and a lot more walking later he felt as though he were going to have to head for home, that it was getting late, and that he wasn't going to to find another dragon today. It was a bit of a shame, he'd been so ready for a potential battle with one of the Ysali... and yet there wasn't going to be a chance of it, was there? He gave a soft, sighing sound, "I was trying to be courageous too." He muttered to himself before he turned to look toward the direction that home was in. He supposed that he could always come back tomorrow and the next day and the next until he was finally able to do what it was that he wanted to do, that being proving himself against one of the Ysali in a manner that wasn't just a fluke. He turned around, starting down the path that would bring him toward home... when suddenly something heavy hit the ground behind him with enough impact that caused him to land in a heap, "Ow..." He muttered, turning to look over his shoulder, and spotted a bit Ysali standing there, growling at him.
"A-Ah..." Well it seemed that one of them had decided to come out he thought to himself, grabbing up his walking stick, and he pointed at the creature, "I-I came here to battle with you, Ysali!" He told the green dragon, then gave a squawk of surprise when the thing snapped forward, jaws grabbing hold of and shattering his walking stick in half. The creature turned, spitting out the part that it had bitten off and Junjie starred at the stick for a moment then gave a little shiver, "Oh... okay..." Well fine then he thought to himself, lunging forward to take a swing at the Ysali.
The battle was fast moving, the dragon snapping and clawing at him, Junjie dodging the best that he could, taking swings with his broken off stick when he had a chance to get a blow in, landing some here and there. It was exhausting, which told him that he really did need to become more then what he was now. He knew that there were warriors out there who could probably stand toe to toe with a dragon, mages that had powers that could entangle and slow a dragon down, and various other tricks of the various trades that would help with such a thing. They were all skills that he needed and to get those powers he knew what it meant, it meant that he had to become more then he was now, he needed a clan, needed a real weapon, needed for his mother to see him as more then just her little baby so that he would be able to become then he was.
Junjie wasn't sure how long the battle had gone one for, it felt like an eternity, before the dragon lunged at him and Junjie thrust forward with the broken off walking stick, and the two of them met in the middle as the sharp part of the stick seemed to hit the dragon just right in it's wide open maw. There was a long, drawn out moment where the two of them seemed to just stand there frozen... before the dragon crumbled away into nothing but bones and the glittering orb that the defeated dragons left behind. He blinked a couple times before he collapsed to his knees next to the remains of the Ysali, body shaking from head to toe, "Eesh... I... I think I am ready to go home..." He muttered to himself, crawling over to where the orb was sitting, scooping it up, and forced himself to his shaking legs. It was time to go home and see about talking to his mother he thought to himself. He'd put it off to this point, not sure how to broach the topic, but he felt it was time to bring it up, that he wanted to become a Ysali Dovaa. Different from what his mother was but hopefully a choice she would accept in him.
