Hel was about to engage in some ah…not so academic pursuits…and it happened to be one of those odd times she had her phone on her. So of course when she got a text, she stopped everything she was doing to check it, because she rarely got texts! It was from Miss Honest…and it said…quest.

Oh s**t.

Oh s**t.

Quest…not so academic pursuit…quest…why was life so hard?

Hel ran out of the room and down the hall of the reaper dorms with her messenger bag in tow, yelling something about finishing later and how she would say she was sorry…

But she wasn’t.

Thus Hel arrived at the library, jogging up to Amrita and Remi, and straightened out her tunic top. “Yo!” She greeted, lifting a hand to wave a bit as well. She then grinned at Amrita. “Congratulations on your win as well, Miss Honest!”

It took a little while before Amrita's phone buzzed with a reply:



Texting with Aymet was, as usual, about as eloquent a conversation as one could have with someone whose fingers were actually gigantic claws entirely at odds with the concept of small buttons on a tiny contraption. There was a reason Aymet preferred face to face conversation.



The idea sounded vaguely familiar to him. Searching for something lost, magical, useful, powerful? He and Shine had come back with a few so-called lost trinkets. He gave the nondescript copper cup a look before turning back to his phone.



Aymet finally arrived at the library - after all, where else could she be? - in a clatter of armor and rattling bones. Remi he waved at, Amrita he began to give a very overdramatic look and gesture that translated approximately to 'I'M ON TO YOU', and finally Hel a long look of possible confusion - as if he'd seen her before --

The Haunted House.

The difference was that she'd had wings back then.

"Hey. I think we've met before," he ventured, trying to defuse the awkwardness. "But I don't think I caught your name?"

And then he'd make Amrita talk.

Remi was definitely one of the few people who could get that close into her personal space and not have her freak out. The chin on her shoulder was tolerated, but it also made him something of a target for the occasional head butt because, well, why not?

Hel was the first to arrive, and when she did, the Vetala all but shoved Remi off of her shoulder to turn and smile, waving her properly set fingers at the other ghoul. "Ahhh...Thank you! I'm actually pretty scared about it but...it should be interesting!"

Her phone was buzzing, but she only checked it after it went silent for longer than thirty seconds. Satisfied that he was at least going to make the effort to find her - which probably meant he'd come along anyway - she closed her phone, not replying to the plethora of texts. Aymet's arrival and subsequent look was met with an innocent smile and silence. Well, almost silence, as her gaze slid to the side to catch a glimpse of a certain Kelpie.

"Ah, Calder! Over here!" She jumped to her feet and waved the boil over, excited to see that everyone she had asked had come. "Great, now that we're all here!" Amrita reached behind her, closing the book that had the information on the actual artifact, but leaving everything else open - vague little tidbits could be read, but in the end only she and Remi knew what they were actually after. It was better this way, or so she thought.

"I was doing a bit of research, and there's this item that I'd really, really like to get my hands on. The problem is, I can't do it alone, but by a longshot...so I asked the four of you to come with me, and I really appreciate that you've agreed!" Well, except for Aymet, but...she was pretty sure he'd come anyway.

"What I'm looking for is in the Sunken Caverns. According to my research it's very waterlogged, which is where I need your expertise, Calder! But there's also apparently some dangers lurking in the area - then again, when aren't there dangers? - but I need you-" She looked pointedly at Aymet, and then at Hel. "-and you for that. Then...wellllll..." She hummed, linking her righted hands behind her, looking any where but at Aymet now. "The artifact is said to stop fire from burning you, but there's a chance that it's...alsoonalotoffire. So! So that's where I need your help, Remi." He did save her from the lava pit with his illusions, and it was something she had never forgotten.

"But before we do anything else...we've got to find the portal to the place. I think I know where to start looking, if you're still interested in coming with me?"

“Remi.” Hel greeted back with a grin and a nod of her head. “Glad you see you came prepared…with clothes on.” She winked, and then turned back towards Amrita. “Never admit to that!” She reached out to lightly swat the ghoul’s arm. “You will do more than fine, of that I am certain.” She squinted at the ghoul’s odd looking fingers and pointed, her mouth hanging open, until the arrival of Aymet and Calder temporarily distracted her.

She turned towards the dreaded undead first, not minding his confused look, and just grinned widely at him, holding out a hand to shake. “Nah, friend, we have. There was just a lot of chaos. I am Hel! Also, congratulations on your win as well!”

The reaper also waggled her fingers at Calder, because she had seen the kelpie a lot during her time here, but just never actually officially met him yet. “Good to see you as well, friend!”

As Amrita launched into the explanation, Hel’s brows furrowed briefly. Sunken cavern…wait…didn’t she go to one already…? Was it the same one…? Different? “…Mm…oh…ya, I am more than fine with this! Let us get going already!” Adventure, battling, woooo!

"Okay, yes, but you can try to warn us too, right?" Amrita had no doubt in Remi's abilities, and she trusted him with every ounce of FEAR she possessed. "I mean it should be fi---" The ghoul paused as Hel's voice pierced the air. What--Remi--naked--? She tried very hard to keep a straight face, but she couldn't help the light, odd little blush that formed on what was left of her face. What should she do? Should she look away? Give them privacy? They were talking about being naked. Together. Um.

It only got worse as Remi turned to them, announcing them King and Queen.

Amrita cast a glance at Aymet, and then quickly looked down at her feet, squirming as she tried to think of something to do or say that wasn't suspiciously awkward at all - not that her actions didn't speak loud enough.

"Umthanks OKAY...Lets go find a portal?"

Calder didn't really know Amrita's other friends, and felt a bit of possession and hurt that what he considered his friend has a lot more friends than he knew. Part of him was hoping she was more dependent on him, but then again, Calder knew a lot of people too.

Sitting down, he tapped his fingers on the tabletop, looking at people he didn't know and also at Aymet, someone Amrita had brought up and he was concentrating on.

As Hel addressed him, he flashed a smile. "Oh, hi. I don't really know any of you." Which was surprising since he felt he was more social than that.

At Amrita's request, Calder smiled. "I'm great with water. I can handle any strong currents or anything else if you need me." He liked being considered an expert.
