Riley felt much more resolved when she had a clear plan. It felt comfortable; it felt complete. She'd made certain decisions recently, whether for the better or worse - at least decisions had been made. Losing the election fit perfectly into her new long term plan, but there were short term objectives jutting out like thorns in her way. It felt good to try and tackle them, one by one.
Her first objective was simply - to gain more power. It was so simple, so easy to generalize, and yet it was tangible. It was something she could easily focus on without thinking about what she'd lost. Or what was changing within her. So she'd taken to going through her library, and when that left her with nothing useful, she'd actually ventured into the school's library. Still, she found little of resource. Perhaps all the books were taken out, previously?
Before she'd left, there was one book sitting on the librarian's desk. It had just been dropped off - someone must have been using it. She'd gone through it, and discovered information and resources that were exactly the kind of thing she had been looking for all along. Artifacts, hidden away in hard to reach places, turning to myth from lack of evidence. This would be the perfect goal to reach for - and she checked out the book to read it back and forth. Once she'd chosen her target, she set to work.
The next day, she carefully chose the two people she trusted with her life, and then went through the logs of the Fitness Club to see who had been active at the gym lately. Two names were picked, and sent the following letter.
Quote: This is your Fitness Club captain speaking. I've chosen you to help me on a mission. You're free to decline, as it will be dangerous, but nothing we cannot handle. If you're interested, meet me at the club at 8AM tomorrow morning. -Riley
Woe to he who hates early mornings..
Sosiqui Riley informed Mal personally where to meet. Blade Kuroda Riley informed Jericho personally where to meet. Lucyal Hel's letter was taped to her door. Pales Kettil's letter was taped to his door.

Hel was rather surprised to see a note on her door, from Riley none the less. She stared at the letter, and mulled it over for all of thirty seconds before deciding ‘oh what the hel’, and packed a small bag and showed up where she was instructed to the next morning. Sure…she hadn’t grown acquainted with this Riley at all, nor did she know who else might show up…but eh. Hel didn’t care too much for things like that.
The magic words were ‘mission’ and ‘dangerous’ and clearly losing wings wasn’t enough to deter her from the unknown.
Upon arrival, Hel lifted a dark hand in greeting. “Yo.”

When Jericho was told that Riley needed him for something, he was more than willing to help her out. He didn't know what she was questing for, but he was sure that he would get the details soon enough. And so, he showed up in the club at the designated time.
"Alright. I'm ready for action."
To his surprise, the valkyrie was here as well. Hmmm.

The note was a bit of a mystery to Kettil, but he didn't complain about it either. He simply informed Freya that he was leaving early in the morning and had to reassure her that he would be back just as soon. He promised he'd sent a text message if he could, especially if anything went awry.
This didn't mean that pulling away from Freya in the morning was any easier, with a lot of effort he managed to get free from her reaching limbs and after a couple of quiet reminders he was out the door after he gathered what he needed.
Luckily he managed to arrive a little early - at least early enough to see Hel and Jericho just a few seconds before he entered the appointed meeting spot, "Hey~." Endzela had joined him on the way swooped in just a bit behind him and perched somewhere near her Reaper. The large Owl let out a soft hoot or two as she settled.

Malodore was rather bemused, to tell the truth - it wasn't sure what to expect. Well, Jericho was a given, but Hel's presence was a bit of a surprise... and the other person a complete mystery. "Buon giorno," it said politely, when it arrived, poking its head in through the door before entering properly. It blinked at the avian presence as well. Hmm. Should it have brought Fedele, its crow, along with?

Riley was standing, much like a statue (which was probably a bad idea, in her case) at the front of the Fitness Club. In her hands she held a book, closed, with her finger within it to hold a certain page. She greeted each person as they came in, and gestured for them to come closer. When Malodore arrived, she might have given it a fonder look, but it was to be expected.
It's nice to see you all. I hope you don't mind that I've called you for some assistance on this quest. For Malodore and Jericho, I believe they're used to me putting them in danger. You two, however, are very brave for coming to my aid. I appreciate the help, and I hope to return the favor one day. She held her hand out to place on Kettil's shoulder. If any of you don't know, this is Kettil. And this, Her hand moved to Hel's shoulder. Is Hel. You've been recruited because you're in my Fitness Club, and that means I can trust you to be able bodied for the task. Plus, I've heard good things about both of you. Her expression turned fond, before it flattened again - straight to business.
She held out the book, opening it to where her finger was. I'm going to be taking you all to find an artifact. I've done some research on the particular types that are out there, still waiting to be found. This one suits my.. particular needs.. the most. The journey there will be dangerous, but I'll be quite honest with you - I think it will be fun.
She hadn't told them to bring anything, but she could tell some had prepared. Does anyone have a First-Aid kit, or any bandages? If you need anything, we have supplies here at the club. Please feel free to raid the closet, and then we'll go.

Jericho she knew (even if he didn’t know her), and she was surprised to see Kettil, actually, and then delighted to see Malodore, since it had been a very long time since she had last spoken to the Plague Doctor. She nodded her head to them all in return, grinning, and turned her attention to Riley as she ushered them closer and debriefed them on the situation.
Oh, neat! A relic hunt?
Hel was just grinning wider at the prospect of danger, and couldn’t help but be in full agreement that this did indeed sound fun.
“I am good to go.” Hel announced, patting her leather messenger bag. Already on it.

"'Does anyone have a first aid kit?'" Malodore's tone was half-teasing, half-incredulous. " Mia cara, you wound me. I assure you, I am well prepared." It patted a relatively new accessory - the first aid kit it had made with Cricket's help, held in a pouch on a leather belt settled around its trim waist. "Though, of course, any resources we possess should be brought to bear." It bobbed its head pleasantly at Hel, whom it remembered; Kettil got a curious head-tilt. "I do not believe we have met, signore. I am Malodore."

In came Malodore and another who he wasn't entirely familiar with. Perhaps he was more familiar with Kettil and Hel before, but it was really hard for him to say at this point.
He listened for what they were here for, and his eyes lit up a bit at the mention of a quest for an artifact. While he had lost many things, it seemed that a thirst for adventure had not left him. This was an exciting prospect.
"I think our good doctor has us covered on the medical front," Jericho grinned.
"Oh! And I'm Jericho," he offered out.

Kettil was pretty happy to meander closer and listen to what was up. He didn't mind being introduced and having his ego bolstered a little bit, it kept him well behaved. The boil nodded to each person glanced over at the Plague Doctor with a friendly smile, "I'm Kettil Blacke," he re-introduced himself despite Riley calling his name prior, repetition with names never hurt anyone, "I guess we just don't hang around in the same circles but I am glad to have met you now," he lifted an arm and signaled for his Familiar to perch on it.
Endzela flew over and claws gripped the limb and threatened to puncture skin but it was obvious she was quite large, "This is my Endzela, maybe we can both be of use to everyone on this venture!"
The owl nodded, "Pleased to meet you all and lovely to see you again, Hel. You have changed much since I recall meeting you~." she said softly.
The mention of first-aid kits made him let out a thoughtful grunt, "Suppose it wouldn't hurt to carry one along if there are extras. I didn't think to prepare much," he said sheepishly. Other than that he wasn't sure what else he'd need. Naturally Jericho was met with another friendly smile from the Muut.

Malodore received a very thin, amused glare. You, my dearest, are only one person. If we have to split up, I daresay those without you would be in trouble if we're not fully prepared. But yes, I agree that Malodore is clearly a great asset when it comes to healing. And clearly, She walked past it and bumped her hip against it. That is the only reason I invited it.
She opened up the club closet, pulling out small First Aid kits and bandages, as well as little nutritional bars and ... cups. She did not hand those out. Take what you will, and if you don't have a bag, I have a few here. erryone omg already getting lazy

"It is my pleasure," Malodore said to Kettil, opening its beak in a smile. "Ah, and greetings to you as well, signora Endzela." It nodded to what it now realized was a familiar, not a minipet - which was itself fascinating. It had never properly met a familiar before.
It also let out a hmph at Riley's words. Perhaps I will heal you last, then- ah, no, I cannot even jest about such a thing, it told her directly, with fondness.

Hel grinned widely back at Malodore, waving her hand energetically, and laughed as Jericho introduced himself. “Ya! I know who you are, friend!” Silly Jericho, introducing himself! Maybe he was doing it for Kettil’s benefit.
Well…Hel already had a first aid kit…but she went ahead and took another since they were offered, and stuffed it into her bag. Her head snapped up, and she waved at Endzela. “Good to see you too! It has been a while, and I am not the only one who changed.” She grinned, and gave the familiar a thumbs up.

Jericho smiled to Kettil and his familiar, waving as they were introduced. However, the smile seemed a little strained with Hel's response.
"So what is this artifact we're looking for exactly?" he asked. It was for Riley, but he figured it couldn't hurt to know what she had her eyes on. He then looked over towards Malodore, thinking.
"Hopefully, we won't need to split.. but I guess it wouldn't hurt to grab a kit."
Since Riley went on and opened up the closet, he made his way over to see what he could take. Hm.. Nutrition bars may not hurt. He wasn't sure how long they would be gone, so a snack along the way may be nice. He took a couple of these. And just to be safe, he grabbed a couple of bandages too.

Kettil just sort of grinned at the display between Maladore and Riley. It was amusing and adorable.
Admorable.
Shut up. He can make up words if he wants.
Endzela let out a small happy sound at Maladore in response. So friendly and nice and it also helped that the Plague Doctor looked Avian in some respects adding another several points to Endzela's books. Then the Owl puffed with pride at Hel's response to her, "I am excited to take part in this venture. I told Kettil that I would not forgive him if he left me behind," she chattered happily.
Kettil settled Endzela on a nearby perch so he could get his provisions tucked away in the proper parts of the bag he brought with him. At least he thought that far ahead. Some nutritional bars, a cup, and a first aid kit for sure and that was all that would safely fit in his bag so he could still save room for more stuff later. "Ready when everyone else is~," he announced.
