If nothing else came from his various run ins with the Ysali dragons that wandered around the forests near where he lived it was that he was getting a lot better at running around. His endurance was getting better, he could run much longer distances, not to mention that he was getting really good at blending in with his surroundings in a manner that was similar to how the Ysali themselves did it. Even now, after a bit of a running, the boy had slid through some of the tall grass and crawled under the thick, tangled roots of one of the many, large trees in the forest, and he held his breath while waiting for the beast to pass him by. He heard it's heavy footfall, something that caused him to scoot back a little further into the shadows the roots provided, and he held his breath to remain that much more quiet. His scent would be masked by the heavy scent of earth that was provided to him by the tree, and he couldn't help but to smile just a little when the Ysali passed him by.
Maybe he was getting too good at dodging them he thought to himself, really feeling as though he should try to be a little more brave about dealing with the Ysali. After all he'd seen Erionda actually go up and punch one of them! He needed to be brave like she was... at the same time all of his mother's lessons were still heavy on his mind. How he had to be careful, had to hide himself from dangerous things, shouldn't risk himself, and various other things he'd heard every day of his life. It was a rather difficult thing, wanting to be brave but not wanting to be foolish. He would need to find a balance between what he wanted to do and what his mother was always telling him that he should do he thought to himself as he slipped out from under the tree once he was sure that he was safe and that the Ysali that had been pursuing him had moved on. Save for the one dragon that he had defeated by sheer luck he had yet to really do anything against them, he had just done his best to avoid them, not to wake them from their slumber, and the like. Sure, there was one time that he had thrown the rock at the Ysali to get it to leave Erionda alone but save for that he'd yet to be proactive about it. He'd never purposefully hunted one of them. It had him wondering, should he?
Should he try to track down Ysali, try to battle them, try to collect more of the orbs that they left behind when they dissipated into nothing but a pile of bones? It didn't seem like something that he should do, not when he was destine to be a Healer of his mother got her way but... given what he was, given that due to having mixed blood he was in danger from those that didn't like people like him, shouldn't he try to get stronger so that he could protect himself and others like him? It was something that he found himself debating on now with himself as he made his way back to where he'd been exploring, to the tree that he'd tucked his pack under, and moved to scoop it up, "I really do need to be brave or else the scary things will just end up chasing me all my life." He murmured to himself, looking in the direction that the Ysali had gone before he continued on his way through the forest.
