She hadn't been patrolling much lately, but tonight she felt the need to go out. Despite the tragedy that befell her family, her home recently she had a duty to upload and other's to look out for and check up on. She decided to start with a short patrol then search for them and touch bases with everyone. She had made a lot of close allies in the months since she returned from England and really truly began to fulfill what she felt was her destiny as a Senshi.
She hopped from one room to the next senses focused feeling for chaos, but also feeling for other senshi and knights. For this reason, she felt what she thought was a more a familiar signature although she wasn't entirely sure. She stopped and waited before heading in the other's direction. It seemed to be a quiet night at the moment, so she didn't feel guilty about stopping her patrol just a bit early. She would likely have training session later.

In contrast, Birhan Isat had been out every night since her return to Destiny City. Sometimes she ran old patrol formations from the BMC, but not too often and never in the same order they used to run them - old habits would just get her caught by old enemies. Some nights, like tonight, moved through entirely new sections of the city, creating new routes for herself. Several of her nights had involved meeting up with other senshi, or putting Vulpeculae through his paces as a partner, but tonight she was alone.
Birhan was slowly growing more used to sensing energy around her, those of allies and enemies. A blip of positive energy still had her tensing up. It drew closer and Birhan waited for it, falling into a stance easy to attack or defend from, eyes narrowed. Just because someone wasn't corrupted didn't mean they were automatically an ally. It was a fairly strong energy signature, brighter than Birhan's own decently-sized Super signature. There were very few Eternals that Birhan knew, fewer that she trusted.
When the senshi finally drew into view, Birhan wasn't sure whether to relax or not. The hair and boots hadn't changed much. The large 'winged' bow was new, but the colour scheme was still the same.
"Maia," Birhan said when the other senshi drew close enough to hear clearly. "It's been a while."
It wasn't a friendly greeting, but neither was it hostile. Birhan was simply reserved - something that was highly unusual for those who'd known Birhan in the BMC. But this was a long way from the BMC and they weren't those girls any more.

When Birhan came into view Maia wasn't sure whether she should keep approaching or not, but she decided continue her movement and was soon in front of Birhan who offered a greeting, which Maia returned politely. "Hello Birhan. It has been a very long time," she said simply.
After the greeting Maia wasn't too sure what to say, they had been on the same team, not close, but teammates and it had gotten to be too much for Maia so she left and then Ares became corrupted and Maia felt bad for not having been there to help the others during that time. She decided to start with the usual.
"How are you doing? I hope you are well. Congratulations on your upgrade, you're a super now. I don't recall you being one last we spoke?"
It was plain, it was typical, but most of all it had an awkward tone to it. Maia clearly did not know where she stood with Birhan. Still so much had changed and Maia had finally learned running away didn't often solves ones problem, so she stood waiting for an answer.

"No, it happened after you left. After Ares, in fact."
Since Maia had left before Ares' corruption, she wouldn't have seen Birhan's upgrade at the following meeting. A handful of senshi in the city were familiar with Birhan's new look, but for the rest, she'd left too soon after her power up for them to recognise the new outfit. Birhan trusted that everyone was up to date on Ares' status, though, and that she wouldn't need to go into specifics beyond a name.
"I'm fairly well. And yourself? You're looking good."
It was a dual compliment. Eternal was a good look on all senshi - to have survived that long without falling victim to the Negaverse. And Maia did look healthy, besides. A little more confident in her bearing, perhaps, though it was hard to be sure when they were both so stilted.
Birhan wasn't sure what the exact policy was meant to be for senshi who left the BMC. Of course, that was a moot point anyway, with no BMC left, but Birhan couldn't help feeling some friction towards someone who had walked away when things got tough.
She didn't know who Maia was, or what she was doing, these days. All she'd heard about Maia lately was a complaint from Zia, but if there was anyone who was going to be mad at people for leaving, it was going to be the BMC's guardian cat. Birhan had to take it with a grain of salt, at least until she knew enough to form an opinion of her own.
"What have you been up to lately? Besides earning your wings." A quick quirk of her lips was almost a smile, the closest Birhan could get to a joke while things were still so tense.

Maia frowned slightly at the comment, but it was barely a frown and it was gone before it really fully set onto her face. She didn't like to think or talk about Ares. Her former comrade viewed her as a traitor and she'd found out about her corruption in the most unfortunate way, when Ares walked right out a mirror behind her.
"I'm doing well or as well as can be expected with what doing on in my daytime life, but the night time is going well. Very well actually," she said with a small smile. She couldn't help, but to feel slightly proud.
She gave a small laugh, feeling slightly more relaxed at Birhan's small joke. It was hard not to when you realized that maybe Birhan didn't outright hate her. It was quite a relief.
"Well aside from them, its mostly been proving that I am worthy of them," much more of course had happened, but she'd already spoke about her daylife being rough and while she felt more relaxed, she was not comfortable to speak more on it.
"I have been seeking out new senshi and knights and helping them as best I can. Giving them information and sparring with them and introducing them to each other. There are a few who seek me out regularly. Just recently I held a training session with another senshi, it was quite successful and I hope to hold another soon."
She stood slightly awkwardly feeling like she was bragging, when she really wasn't. She was use to know being a little more thorough in her explanations. 'What about you? What have you been up to? I haven't seen you around or well anyone aside from Zia and Kallichore, thought with Kalli it was some time ago."

Birhan might not have any idea where she and Maia stood with each other any more, but she still raised her eyebrows to hear Maia speak of proving herself. "You survived, and fought, long enough to get this far. That's as 'worthy' as anyone gets."
Anyone who said otherwise was trying pull something. The good and the bad, the helpful and the douchebags, they all hit Eternal as long as they didn't get killed beforehand. The fight made them all 'worthy' enough - even the ones that Birhan preferred to avoid. Maia might have run away, but she'd still been a BMC senshi once. Hopefully she had the balls to stick up for herself if anyone was trying to convince her otherwise.
"Training's good," Birhan nodded. "Knights, huh? What's that like?"
Last time Birhan had been in a meeting anywhere near Knights, there'd been precious few of them, and both Senshi and Knights had seemed very uncertain of each other.
"I skipped the country for a while, after Ares went crazy. She was a little too focused on trying to keep BMC members, if you know I mean. I've been trying to check in with people since I got back, but there are a lot of dead or unanswered calls." A lot of senshi MIA, or simply needing a break, it seemed. Birhan couldn't cast stones there.
"Yeah, Zia said you guys met. How'd that go?"
Zia hadn't sounded too happy about things, but, well, the woman was dealing with a lot - not the least being the host body for a cat's soul who dragged her into a crazy world of magical girls and 'zombie' parallel souls. Birhan wouldn't mind hearing Maia's take on the recently-back-in-charge-of-her-body Zia.

She blinked and then gave a small laugh smiling, "oh I make it sound so awful, but that you for the the vote of confidence. I meant I'm doing what I said I would when I earned my wings to the best of my ability it is a learning process, but I've got a lot of experience behind me and friends to help."
She nodded as well, "training is always good and much needed. Knights, they dont have magic at first, but they work around it well enough from what I've seen. I'm helping to train three personally, outside of the larger training session, currently and they are coming along well. They've all got wonders one various planets and they are often things we didn't think really existed like Shangri-La."
Maia gave a nodded, she'd had a time when she was out of the country on vacation turned somewhat a kidnapping with her family, but not because of Ares. She avoided any sort of contact with the DMC, but now realized maybe that wasn't the best course of action because she didn't actually know what the current court consisted of. "I can help if you like."
Maia gave a confused looked to Birhan before nodding, "I see Zia pretty frequently. She's the same as ever, though a bit more possessive maybe, but Zia just the same. The last time I saw her though was at the big training session Pandora and I put together. She helped keep everyone in order, newer knights and senshi can be reluctant, but you know that. They do better when reminded its better to learn something ahead of time in a safer setting. But, I digress, despite never seeing Zirconia anymore, well not physically anyway," she said with a slight frown,"Zia's still out and about doing the night time thing. If you've seen her, you'll see her again I'm sure."
She of course had different reasons now, not all that Maia was privy to, but she did have her now knight brother to look out for.
