Having recently completed the external mission, successfully, with Ami and Nevada; Kat thought that it was best time she got more acquainted with the new girl. If they were going to be watching each others back, like they just had, then it couldn't hurt. After all, she needed to expand more on the friend thing around Deus, and not just know people's names only. Flipping open her phone, Kat punched in a quick text to Nevada.Quote: TEXT TO NEVADA:

Nevada slipped her hand out of under Roland's covers and reached for the phone that buzzed, dragging it into the abyss that was the blankets that acted as her cover.
Flipping it open (slowly) she read the text and murmured at it. Ah, the pretty sun hunter from the external mission! Oh and she wanted to spar! Nevada made her way slowly out of the bed, emerging with ruffled hair and pj's before sending the return message to Kat.Quote: Text to Kat: On my way pretty lady.
Hey she could hurry when she needed!

Taking the opportunity to read through texts she had ignored up until now, Kat let loose a small yawn, kicking at some of the dirt as she waited. Snapping the phone shut again, she was already on her way towards the training fields when the phone in her hand began to buzz with an incoming text. Flipping the it open, she read over the text before tucking it away in her coat. Perfect! Looks like Nevada was up for spar after all. This suited her just fine. Fighting against the training dummies didn't do much fore real combat, when the targets didn't move.
Arriving at the training field, she waited at the entrance to greet the mist hunter when she arrived.

Nevada hustled over to the field and then saw the pretty sun hunter and waved.
"Hello Kat." She resisted the urge to reach over and drop her arms on the girls before looking around. Well the training fields were looking dismal as ever. "Ah, if we spar, I think we should also Nap after okay hun?" She winked and then slowly made her way to the middle of the field. The good thing is that both of them used gun weapons so the Trainee would get her field of experience fighting farther away.
"Ready when you are Gorgeous."

Catching sight of the mist hunter making her way towards her, Kat returned her greeting with a small wave of her hand.
"Hey, glad you could make it!" Following her gaze, she took small glance at the field before returning her gaze to Nevada. "Uh, sure? I guess." After all, it wasn't unlike Kat for taking naps throughout the day when she had nothing better to do. She might as well catch up on some sleep after this. Hell, depending on how this battle played out, she might need the rest.
With Nevada's words, Kat made sure to give some distance between the two of them, summoning her weapons when she finally stopped. "After you~"

Nevada chuckled and then cocked the gun at her hip.
"Okay...." She pulled the trigger and started shooting at the girl. "Since we're sparring, telling me about yourself Kat. How old are you hun?"
The spray of bullets barely tapped the intermediates shield.

Keeping her fingers on the trigger, she waited for Nevada to make her first move. In all truth, she had fought anyone with guns before, aside from Lex, and that was nearly a year ago or so. She would have to keep on her toes for this battle.
As soon as Nevada began, Kat darted off to the side to avoid the worst of her attack, but failed to avoid some of the bullets that pelted her fear shield. Wincing slightly, she aimed her own weapons for the mist hunter, squeezing the trigger to let loose a few bullets.
"Twenty-one. And you?"

She hissed as the bullets hit her shield and had to remember that Kat was fighting with a gun as well. Long range was their forte and both of them were going to take full advantage.
"I'm 19, just started college when I was recruited. Was looking for my twin actually. How about you...At the whole recruitment? How'd they get you?" She dodged much like Kat, moving her feet and postioning herself to fire again. This time, she noticed a lot more bullets hitting Kat's shield.

Unable to answer her questions right away, Kat ducked down for cover behind some of the props placed on the training field in order to avoid the shower of bullets from the girl.
"That so?" A twin and in college, huh? She imagined it couldn't have been easy to leave her twin for something like this. At least that's what she believed. Peaking out to see if she could get a good shot, she quickly returned to cover, waiting out for her moment to strike. "I volunteered. Didn't have the money to go to college, so I took up waitressing for a while. Didn't have any family to speak of, aside from the foster families, but we didn't really keep in touch. So, what better way to make something of my life, than helping protect humanity?"

"Ah you got to work before coming here...I didn't have much time in college if it helps. About a week before they found me." She looked around, waiting for the attack. When none came, she instead propped her weapon, taking a small breather.
"Yeah Alaska is actually....podded right now. Maybe one day she will wake up." She better goddamn wake up, Or Nevada would throw a fit! "Ah...i'm sorry. Well if it helps, I appreciate having you here to help defend the world Gorgeous." And back to battling!
She shot the weapon off again, moving around the barrier and winking at Kat. "Gotcha~"

"No?" She heard the college life was busy. Though honestly? Having finished high school, she wasn't exactly eager to run off to college either. Sure the pay could have been better if she had gone through college to find a better career, but she got by on what she did. She didn't need much in her life. However, her one regret was not living in a place that allowed her to own a cat.
Resting her head back against the wall of her defense, Kat carefully peered around the corner, waiting. "Is she?" So her twin was recruited along with her? But still podded. Kind of sounded like Gale's situation, what with his twin sister being in the pods. At least, that's what she had heard. Letting out a small snort, she managed a toothy grin. "Well, I'm just a small fraction of the whole thing."
Not realizing Nevada's approach, she let out a curse under her breath, shooting the mist hunter, nearly, point blank.

"Yeah...Yeah she is." Nevada was scooting closer to Kat's hiding spot while talking so when she took the shot point blank, she cursed and fell back. "Whew! That was a hard hit hun! Your guns pack a punch."
Leroy wanted to retaliate for the hard hit, to show the other pair of guns that he was just as good, just as bad...just as strong.
/USE IT./
"Duck and cover Kat!"
As she pulled the trigger, the charge's spray of FEAR bullets condensed into one and hit the sun hunters shield. Hard.

By the time she received Nevada's warning, it was too late for her to avoid the worst of her charge attack. Instead, the sun hunter rushed forward, ducking down into a roll before quickly aiming her weapon up at Nevada's shield to pull off another point blank shot before retreating back under different cover.
"As does yours."

Another shot point blank and the huntress was getting close to her fear shield completely disappearing.
s**t. Intermediate power was nice. So nice.
Wanting more distance, she sprayed bullets to have Kat back off before stepping her own paces back. Once there, she grinned and laid a hand to shield her from the sun.
"ohhhh I think you're going to win darling."

Taking the hit before making it to cover, Kat reached back to rub lightly at her back. Even with the fear shields, it still stung like a b***h to get shot. Remaining under cover, she glanced out, checking for Nevada's position.
"Oh, I don't know. There is still time to turn this around. Besides, you're doing well for a beginner."
