Bokoboko wasn't sure what to do with herself now that her children were grown adults and on their own. Occasionally Kisa would pop by and keep her company but... she was pretty lonely these days. She was also... well she was afraid frankly. She hadn't even gone out and met anyone who lived in these lands... even though her children spoke of how great everyone was.
So they were safe here... Good. Every couple of nights she would have nightmares about the god of hatred and her time spent captive in his cave. She usually had to push those thoughts out of her mind. She had too. It was her personality. She was resting quietly, her speckled back in the sun and her blue eyes half lidded as she enjoyed the last few hours of daylight. Soon she would go back to the large hollowed out log in which she hid in when she was pregnant; when she was first brought here.
She sighed heavily.

Bomvu wasn't sure what to think of his decision to go to the pride lands. He wasn't sure he knew enough about the pride to make it his home. Still, something about the place was peaceful. Or peaceful enough for someone like him. As a lion who had spent a good portion of his younger days fighting, he wasn't sure what a good definition of peace even was. No one was killing anyone else, so he supposed that was the best he could hope for. Slowly, he moved over the lands, until he spotted a female in the failing light of the day. Tilting his head, he moved himself closer, the very large male looking down at her with a slightly raised brow. "Hello," He offered gruffly, "are you a member of this pride?"

She hadn't heard him. She hadn't seen him. She hadn't smelled him. In fact, when he spoke it was as if he dropped from the clouds and roared at her. She startled quickly, her teal eyes wide eyed and her claws out and ready to defend. Even though it was obvious that this little banana colored rose had thorns but probably didn't know how to use them; especially if this male had spent a good time of his life battling.
She looked around quickly and spotted him, the dark maned and brown male was not what she expected. She was relieved that it wasn't the melting god of hatred; the nightmare that burned her mind daily. She opened her mouth but shut it quickly, realizing she probably looked like an idiot... freaking out at nothing.
She regained her composure, her claws receding and her eyes growing calm.
"I um... Yes... I am..." She said, her voice was soft and almost child like. She licked her lips. "I'm sorry... you frightened me...." She added

Though she had made a threatening sort of posture towards him, he did not move to try and attack her. While that would have been standard practice in the rogue lands he had grown up in, where it had been survival of the fittest, he had never been inclined to raise his paws against females. It wasn't that it didn't seem fair or that he felt they weren't worthy to fight him, he just... didn't like the thought of it. Females were not like brutish males who had no sense of intelligence. He had never liked the thought of fighting one. the massive male watched her, his expression neutral though he knew he had freaked her out. It wasn't his fault she hadn't been paying attention, was it? "That's alright," he replied, "I guess I am pretty frightening. I'm used to that kind of a reaction. In any case, I was thinking about making this place my home. I have already spoken to some of the pride members and they seemed nice. But you seem on edge- does this place have dangers I should know about?"

She shook her head slowly. "No. This place is safe. I am just... always afraid these days... My children are around and say that everyone is nice; but I tend to stay hidden..." She spoke and her words seemed to carry off. "... I did not have a fun time prior to my children's birth... this place is my haven... my home... though I still seem wary of it." She shook her nervousness off the best she could.
"But this place is nice. There is water and plenty of food... everyone is really accepting of others... and they aren't frightened by how those appear or act..." She paused. "... In face the presence of my children would have scared many outside of this pride. Here they are not judged; and that is why I was brought... I came here...' She decided to keep the part about the goddess of mothers bringing her here...

Bomvu looked a little skeptic as he watched the female, wondering if he had made the wrong choice of home. But she had said that this place was her escape from the evils she had faced, and maybe he could believe that. After all, that was his story too, sort of. He gave a stern, but understanding nod. "That sounds just like the right kind of place I'm looking for. Somewhere there's not always fighting and struggling for territory." He frowned, remembering his days in his old home. He was not one to smile a lot, really. "My name is Bomvu, by the way," he added as an afterthought.

She had to admit that her description of the place was a pretty good one. After all, this was one of the biggest prides she had ever seen. She knew there was some sort of drama unfolding currently; something to do with a new king but she was so much of a hermit. She nodded slowly.
"I haven't seen any fighting of any kind here..." She said softly, as though she was remembering something again. In fact, the only fight she had ever witnessed was the one between the god of leadership and the god of hate; as Primitus tried to save her and failed.
"I am Bokoboko... but everyone calls me nana." She said, a smile back on her face... "And I think you would like it here..." She added.

“I see.” He would take one or two fights, he supposed. “The place I used to call home was nothing but fights, as lions bid for territory constantly, so I am trying to find a place a little different from that sort of thing. I suppose this place is as good a place as any to give a shot.” He watched the female, though failed to smile despite the light nature of his tone. “Nana is an interesting name,” he remarked thoughtfully, “I think I can figure out what it means. And I must say, you have been very nice to me, though it seems I make you a bit nervous. I am thankful for that.” He offered her a bow of his head, being respectful towards someone who had been so kind to him. He just wanted to have a home. It was nice he was being welcomed by this female, even if she did seem to have a lot on her mind.

She shook her head quickly. "No no it isn't you.. I never used to be like this... but... I have been very nervous about everything since I came here.. you see... the sire to my children is not someone I would ever want to see again... and I am deathly afraid of seeing him again..." She looked as though her words were the truth; and they were.
"and I don't think you will have to do any fighting here... it's really peaceful. It's nice. I am glad I came here to raise my children and to live out the last of my days..." She looked into the distance. "I have had a lot of hardships and deserve some peace. I think you are also in the pursuit of something like that." She smiled. "Would you like me to show you around?" She asked.

Bomvu kept his expression neutral as he listened to her explain about the male she didn't want to see, but he really did feel a bit of pity for her. It was probably hard having to fear meeting up with someone again. He wondered if there had been a time in his life when he had to deal with the same thing. Given where he had lived, it was possible. But he had not lived that way in a long time. Instead, he had taken to looking at everyone as a threat, and standing his ground, even being threatening. He wondered if that was a better view. "Well, I suppose it's good we both have this pride, then," he commented, "it seems like the right kind of escape for both of our problems. And I think I would like a tour guide," he offered with the faintest of smiles. "I appreciate the offer, thank you."

Nana looked skeptical about being a tour guide. Her children knew more about this pride than she did; sadly. She looked hesitant and bit her lip for a moment. She then chuckled lightly. "I think it'll be more like a learning experience for both of us... I really don't know much about who is in this pride. My children know way more than I. I think they'd be more than happy to help us out a little."
She smiled over at him. "You're welcome." She said softly. And with this the lions began their lives among the pridelanders.
