I have been awake for 2 days now, feeling as if my body was powered by caffeine and sugar.

My body starts to get tired but the moment I try to sleep I start waking up.

I am starting to get a sleep loss headache.

As of my posting it I had it for 2 days straight. Thankfully it ended.

I am a terrible, horrible sleeper. I'm so restless. It takes me hours to fall asleep, I wake up often, and I dream constantly. There are some days/weeks where it really affects my ability to function properly at work.

Did you know that when you hit 18 hours of being awake that your reaction time is the same as when you are legally drunk (by U.S. standards)? I was at a conference earlier this month and one of the sessions I attended was led by Harvard Medical School about their most recent sleep studies.

I learned a lot of other things, such as the fact that the bright light of a smartphone, laptop, tablet, eReader, etc. is enough to reset your internal clock and keep you awake longer. So if you sleep with your phone (guilty), checking the time or answering a text and subjecting yourself to the light can make it even harder to fall asleep.

i have hard time sleeping only when I hear thunder storms, and i really have to cover myself with a blanket, i still do that.
