It was the first night that Tortali felt brave enough to really go out and patrol. Besides that, it was a Friday night, so there wasn’t going to be any conflict with waking up early for school the next day. The senshi hadn’t powered up since Sheena had first come to her, telling her of how fantastic her destiny was going to be, and in fact, she had been more than one hundred percent sure that that entire encounter had been nothing more than a dream, at least until she found the henshin pen and cell phone under a pile of her clothes two days later.
After much deliberation, she decided to just go with it and well. She was going. Her heels clacked against the pavement as the new senshi looked around for people from the realms of chaos that she could fight…or work on stopping, or just do something too.
Finally, about half an hour into her walk, she paused, wrinkling her nose. There was a strange feeling and she was quite sure that she didn’t like it one bit. Almost absent mindedly, she began to hum the battle music from some video game, getting into a fighting stance. “Okay! I know you’re out there. Why don’t you just…show yourself…and then we can fight! Or uh. Something.”
Was it too early to be getting into a brawl? Or was whatever the feeling nothing more than her own imagination?

"It seems the cat's out of the bag, and so early too!" Buddingtonite was a little disappointed that he was discovered so quickly, but then again, he often forgot that members of the opposing side could sense one another so easily. Tonight was one of those moments, and he couldn't help but give an annoyed sigh as he obliged to her wishes and stepped out into the open.
And by step out into the open, what he truly meant was to leap from the traffic light that he was perched on top of and land directly behind her. If that wasn't enough of an introduction, than he gave a whistle to draw her attention back to him, not taking a chance and charging at her. "On a normal day, I'd give you the spiel about how you picked the wrong side, but now? I don't care..."
If there was one thing he had learned from Benitoite is that his efforts in seeking out potential recruits could not focus on those that had already made a choice. And his experiences in the past solidified this stance as well. Time and time again, he tried using sympathy, sweet coaxing, and for one in particular, he even tried forcing her over, but none of that gave him results. There was one, perhaps, but she had come to him, not vice versa.
So, he lashed out at this Senshi with reckless abandon. No sugar words, no trying to convince her to join the Negaverse. Just straight up fight! He reeled his hand back, knowing he only held a pinwheel but swinging it as though he wielded a sword. It was corrupt or kill, and Buddingtonite was going in for the kill.

Tortali gave a little jump as a male’s voice rang out, then spun around, taking a step backwards. Oh well…s**t. She hadn’t expected him to be so close by! The senshi blinked at the male then stared for what didn’t seem like too terribly long. When she had pictured chaos…well…this hadn’t been the picture, to be honest. She had expected dark and dank looking…not…slightly strange…biker meets doctor meets…something.
In this small bit of thinking one thing registered. “Picked? I’m not sure what you’re talking about. I didn’t pick any side. This chose me…my destiny chose me and uh…I’m gonna…”
She didn’t have time to finish her thought before he was attacking her like a circus clown in a frenzy. The girl yelped and jumped backwards, completely confused. Where was the cheat code book for this? She couldn’t just punch something in and give herself super abilities or anything…sure she liked being outside and fighting monsters on her television screen, but to actually fight another real person?
That was another game all together. No, for now, Tortali felt she was much better off jumping out of the way.
At least until she found something easier to do.

Perhaps it was a mistake to announce himself, but as eager as Buddingtonite was to fight, he couldn't help but fall into old habits. He was a lover, not a fighter, and that showed in how he failed to accommodate for the possibility of her dodging his attack. His swing missed and the force behind the swing almost made the lieutenant lose his balance, but he caught himself to where he only stumbled but never hit the pavement face first. A goofy move, but Buddingtonite didn't take the time to laugh at himself.
He wasn't in the mood for laughs. Nor fun, or games. He had too many failures on his list to count, and he needed to clean that slate with a solid victory. So, whereas on another day he'd make a snide remark and try to hide his mess up with a joke or a laugh, he gave a snarl, before twisting about and swinging at her again.
"Then your destiny dealt you a rotten hand!" Buddingtonite shouted, trying to go for a follow up strike and this one was more frantic, less controlled than his last blow. "The only thing you're going to be doing, young lady, is handing over your starseed!"

Tortali watched as the man almost fell, half moving to try and help him, but quickly stumbling back as he took another swing at her. This time, it was she who lost her balance, falling onto her a** and then working to scramble back up, half crawling on the ground to get back to her feet. “S-starseed? What’s that? Is that something you get in the boss level?”
Well. She seemed to be in over her head a bit. Why hadn’t she asked Sheena more questions? Like how to fight…or how to use the magic that she had.
Ah! The magic she had! If she had it, then it shouldn’t be too difficult to figure out just how to use it! Juniper finally flailed to her feet and waved her arms. “Hocus pocus! Alakazam! Presto Chango!”
None of that seemed to be working and the green haired senshi suddenly found herself with her back against a tree. “I don’t want to hand you anything…ah…ah…T-Tortali Simple Grudge!” She pointed at Buddingtonite and yelped as she saw a grey puff of energy head right for him.
Was that her magic? That was…a sorry excuse for magic.

He missed again? How could he have missed again? This time, he should have taken comfort in seeing the poor Senshi fall flat on her butt and had he not been so focused on the fight, he would have stole a glance at her nether regions, but not today. That swing was so powerful that it almost wrenched his arm out of socket, and he took a moment to try and rub away the pain, giving Tortali the chance to scramble back to her feet unharmed.
"You... don't even know what a starseed is? Don't they tell you anything? How can they expect you to succeed in this war if they don't even tell you what a starseed is?" Buddingtonite may have allowed a little too much of his inner frustration show, or perhaps it was because he had endured his own corruption and ripped a starseed so recently that made him unable to comprehend how someone didn't know of such a vital thing. He was willing to show her though, and he moved to strike at her a third time. "If you live long enough, I'll show you what your starseed will look like..."
That was when she shouted some strange words to him, reminding him that the Senshi had a distinct advantage against him. Their magic. It stopped his advance when she shouted 'Hocus Pocus' and he rose his arms in front of his face to defend himself, though nothing happened. It took him a moment to drop his defenses again, and now, he couldn't help but give a mocking laugh at her blunder. "See? You don't even know your own-"
He spoke to soon. The words Tortali Simple Grudge' flew out of her mouth, mere seconds before the grey puff of energy hit him directly in the face in mid-laugh. It was as if someone just exhaled a puff of cigarette smoke right into his face, but thicker, and lacking in the same distinct smell, but he'd be lying if it didn't have the same effect. He coughed and sputtered, taking a few steps back, and the sensation that churned within him wasn't unfamiliar.
No, if anything, whatever pent up rage he had before was merely amplified, and the problem he had was figuring out which one topic of disgust he hated the most. Things hadn't been going his way lately, and he had a LOT to blame! Little children ruining his store, and the damned Senshi that protected the vile things. The Negaverse Captain that held his dog captive and tried to control every aspect of his life! The punk that dared accuse him of mistreating his dog. The senshi and pages that refused to listen to him, refused to see reason.
Oh, there was a lot of cause for this feeling of resentment, this untainted rage he felt, so much that his mind couldn't figure out a single one to hate the most at the moment. He grabbed his head, knocking his hat off and only causing his turmoil to increase. How... how dare Titan call him a Nazi? How dare he! This wasn't the attire he chose- who the hell did he think he was just to call him that? He gave an angered shout, his mind completely off of the Senshi that was standing before him, nor how it was her magic that had caused him to want to find the meaty lieutenant and give him a good beating right now.

Tortali looked like a fish. Her mouth was hanging open at the changes that had overcome the creepy (not to mention crazy) guy in front of her. One minute he was threatening her again, then laughing, and then he was…well, throwing a temper tantrum? He was doing something crazy, that much was for sure. Was this her fault? Had those words that had jumped into her head really been the right thing to say?
Was that really her magic? Or was it just some strange fluke…
The senshi hesitated, then began to slowly shift sideways. She didn’t want to be here…she honestly…wanted to start running and go home to barricade herself behind her bed or something dumb and safe like that…but if he was having some sort of mental breakdown…
“U-um…excuse me…a-are you all right?”
It wasn’t that she really cared…she just…didn’t want to be responsible for throwing a creep into the mental institution…especially when it was her fault for blowing a puff of…magical(?) smoke into his face. After he answered…then she could start running for her life.

The anger was still there, and it was not yet directed towards Tortali. It lingered on Titan for awhile longer, even when Tortali had gathered the nerve to ask him if he was alright. "Who... the hell does he think he is? To say that? Doesn't he know... my ancestry is French... we NEVER liked them!"
It took a few moments before the undeniable rage towards Titan began to settle, and bit by bit, the spell's effects had ceased. His shoulders grew lax once more, his shallow breathing had calmed, and the hands that grabbed and pulled at his hair loosened their grip, starting to feel the pain from his efforts as his wits returned to him.
He looked to the Senshi in front of him, seeing her concern and wondering just what exactly had happened, but before he could ask, he remembered her firing that grey magic into his face, and then the aftermath. His crimson eyes went wide, and his cheeks matched his crimson eyes for a moment, as he gave a curse. "You... hit me with one of those emotion attacks, didn't you? That... is really starting to get on my nerves!"
At least this one didn't have the same burning sensation that the Eternal Senshi had, but he wasn't willing to stick around to see if there was a second part to the attack. The fight was over as far as Buddingtonite was concerned, and he cared little for pride nor dignity at this point, as he scooped up his hat and looked for the nearest escape route. "Very well, Senshi. You can keep your starseed for another day... but know that I -will- be back someday..."
Yes, a very dastardly and cliche thing for a villain to say, but what else could Buddingtonite do? He allowed his emotions to get the better of him once again, and he suffered for that. He felt no shame in admitting defeat, so long as he could return stronger some day. That in itself was a victory, and for one as desperate as Buddingtonite, he accepted it. He took off, just as quickly as he had appeared, and he hoped that the Senshi wouldn't have followed.Orangeish Sherbert Buddy will remember this! YOU WILL RUE THE DAY! RUE IT WELL! The girl didn’t even know what was going on. The moment that Buddingtonite seemed like he was back in his right mind, she flinched away, quite sure he was going to strike out at her or something, but then he was gone. Just like that. No pain, no blood, no bruises…just a puff of grey smoke to keep away all crazy madmen.
In the first few moments after the lieutenant was gone, Tortali felt herself shaking as whatever fear inside her started to get through her blood. She slid down the tree and just hugged her knees to her chest. That was not how she had wanted her first night of going out as a senshi to have ended up…
Sheena was right. She had to meet some people…and meet people she would…you know. Once she could get up again, she would go try and meet them. Slowly she got back to her feet and sighed, feeling drained and just plain tired.
Okay. So she’d go look for some people tomorrow. Tonight was just too soon. Way too soon.ChibiGingi And that's a wrap! Thanks for an epic rp! <3
