Two heavy wooden doors lead to a cathedral sized room, and many smaller ones, are dotted along the walls. Reconstructed from the last battle with some help from staff and students alike, there are small cracks that can even be found; the proverbial scar of war, a physical mark of the hazards that can come from corrupted magic and abuses of power. Most of the books remain intact, while others suffered the damages of the attack.
A Victorian design is ingrained in the ceiling and walls, with animated portraits that double as a security measure. Four stories of books, in bookshelves that seem to go on forever lie beyond the wooden doors. Along the walls are small alcoves that students can use for studying, while other small rooms are secret entrances that survived the war; The Restricted section is at the end and unfortunately, still restricted to students unless they have a note from a teacher. Traps and attacks are inlaid as a further security once the library is closed for the evening, with bookcases that attack and ghosts that take walk-abouts to make sure there's no lurking students out past bedtime.

HISTORY FORM YR, ERA: Colonial period HISTORICAL BOOK/MOMENT: Truth through the Ages..Bethsalda Birch CLASSES USED: History of Magic, Advanced DADA for 7th years
Sometime after colonization of the 13 colonies, extreme religious muggleborn started actively attempting to wipe out all traces of magic, or that which they didn't understand to be the works of their god. Shortly after the first witch burnings, a well hidden but practiced user of the magic arts attempted to create a spell that would not hinder her desire to genuinely help others while preventing those who'd report her for being a witch. Narrowly avoiding several attempts to prove her a witch, Belgusi LaRuse was one of the first experts in the art of getting the truth out of wizards and muggles alike without the token wand or potions to show her heritage.

Title: Magical-Technology basics Author: Kamenashi Kazuya Classes used: None. Found in the library.
In the beginning...an Introduction
Magical users, in the common jargon of wizards, witches, or warlocks, had at first not found an real use for those technologies that non-magical users, muggles in the vernacular, chose to use. Unusual and odd designs like a stick and numerous bent wires used for cooking* (wisks), and two wheeled manually labored vehicles set in nothing but gears, chain, and brakes..all put together by aluminum bars* (bicycle) were simply inconvenient when all one has to do is swish their wand or use floo powder.
Muggle Technology really took a different turn for the magical community when the first wizards managed combine simple radio signals with a live magical band. Tesla coils were soon found to have numerous new and previously unheard of functions. Weapons could have a power component based not on skill or family name, but on the individual wizard.
Morals and ethical issues soon came up; what defines a good wizard and will he do good things with this new magi-tech as it was soon nicknamed. Will a witch with clear vision and moral insight create a weapon of unparallelled damage? It became clear that although muggles were relatively harmless when put up against the magical community, their ability to manipulate simple gears and basic shape were profoundly useful.
Security methods were put on place. While certain wards were put in place to restrict those underage and those deemed dangerous, it was a general conclusions that certain items could hardly be a threat. While the magical community was still getting used to technology advances like cellphones* and Ipads*, many muggleborn had extensive knowledge about how they worked and how they could be broken into. Today there is a simple but effect charm taught to all first year students that ensures some basic technology like radios* could broadcast the newest wizard band, or that a student who didn't want to write thousands of notes on sheets of paper could bring in a recorder* of some sort to put all they've learned into one single technical machine.
Students all over Magical schools have use of the basic radio, Walkie-talkie*, digital watch*, limited use of the portable computer*, a refined tool that comes in handy when dealing with book on book of information but you lack the room to store them all!
Chapter 1...History in the making
start the history. Group RP, so why not add on?
Chapter 2...Charming a gadget
what simple charm did it. Details, details!
Chapter 3...Where the Ministry of Magic is concerned
The Ministry of Magic assumed the responsibility to tackle known problems and vexing quandaries done by errant witch or wizards. What started out as a small group of general skill magic users with high scores in Defense and Charms would turn into a specialty field, where those witches and wizards who scored in OWLs concerning Charms, Transfiguration, and Defense of the Dark Arts; in addition to excellent scores in N.E.W.T.s would attain a good and longstanding career in the field of magical implements, illegal or no.
The value of these specialists are not to be be questioned. Without them, the muggles would have surely been harmed or we, discovered. The Ministry has concerns, not just for the safety of others, but of our own world. Just one of many are the potential security breaches that could be brought on by innocent looking muggle objects.
Of the more recent creations, electronics are quite troublesome. wristwatches (time pieces) that have tracking systems, cameras, and computers( a gadget that allows a user to carry and use multiple functions, like writing or recording), are in our impending future. The Ministry already deals with Laptop computers (More compact versions of the full-size Computer) and it's "Wireless access" to thousands of places.
As a tool, it's quite useful, but applications created by muggles would hinder our own world, and arouse suspicion. To ensure it's not a threat, our specialists in the in the Ministry have set up a security wall to ensure that such a gadget will no longer receive signals from the outside world. While a Laptop computer may hold hundreds of notes, and be a useful tool, it should no longer be a threat. The users of such muggle items cannot use its' many functions to send notes out, much less receive notes, thus our safety and security are not compromised. Similar charms and defensive spells have been used on Radios, watches, recorders, and cellphones.
Chapter 4...Dangers and restrictions for the average wizard
...explosions, trauma, dark wizard fun? Fill us in.
YR, ERA: 1750 January HISTORICAL BOOK/MOMENT: Journal of Marcus Iris CLASSES USED: None. January 2nd, 1750 Stumbled across a mysterious entry that may explain a glittering in the waters. Found in a poems book, and decidedly unimportant until I realized I might have discovered it. Looked for the glint again. It was GONE. "A Lighting Blade of Love and Lore"
To ancient time , legends of lore; there lies a sword of great renown. Bequeathed to a King to save his Queen, her very heart was giving way. He conjured a spell, meant to save her wife. In one foul move, it stole her life. The sword at his side cried out her name; Her love once strong was not the same. The spell still active, lit the sword aflame; The King ashamed, and his Queen gone. It was for him, the final swan song. Hidden in a Labyrinth, far beneath the seas. The Entrance only shows itself to those in dire need. A threat to those who want it most, it tests the desire that you so boast.
January 22, 1750 A glittering tree seen while I was getting supplies for Professor Ingleton. He avoided my question of why it was there. He did give me a name though. Very confusing. Couldn't find the tree again.
Willowand sword
In the bowels of a burial, lies a pallbearer within. Blessed with life, drowned in sorrows. Providing shade to those feeling hollow. A taker of life, it lives not up to its name. Breaking that which builds without aim. Magically enchanted to destroy blue blood; it does not work the way one thinks it wood.
February 3rd, 1750 Found a mention in a forbidden book ( I swear, I had a note this time), about some Mask of Weakness. Sounded silly to me.
Human Body found, skinned from ear to ear, forehead to nose. No magical or biological fingerprints, much less missing persons reports.
Sgt. Gunny Rodayne Pottsview Police
Pottsview seems to hold a lot of secrets. Screen of Red
"Daily Prophet-1749-By Delia Bogtrotter" Murder at Pottsview Earlier this evening in the little town of Pottsview, a wizard, Durmach Vanmeans, was arrested and charged for murder with the death of a muggle resident, Pepper Burbank. Mrs. Burbank had been collected fruit for the exquisite winery when Vanmeans accosted her. How he managed to obtain a wand is under investigation. His original had been taken and destroyed on order by the Ministry of Magic at Contrave, France, where he'd been proven guilty for the suspected murder of another muggle resident, Amet DeColour. The wand is currently in possession of the Ministry for safety."
February 22, 1750 Getting a guided tour for my impending job at the Ministry of Magic! Found some nifty things. My guide was a chatterbox.
Case 139-z: "Wattkeeper"
Found in raid of illegal muggle magiced items. Takes on the appearance of a "Car Battery". Examined but not thoroughly. No definite purpose yet ascertained.
Bad news today though, which might explain the tourguide I was supposed to meet up with.
Daily Prophet Deem Lights
-February 22, 1750 By Curly Valnut
"The cost of freedom" Wizards often scoff at the methods used by mudblood counterparts, but there is an iota of truth in this belief on liberty. Recently, threatened at wandpoint with the deadly curses and numerous hexes, Mrs. Olivio Turnkey took not one, but six of her attackers most vile creations in our known history, onto herself.
Tragically, she perished. In her wake, she leaves behind a lasting impression that we are not infallible. Her family managed to defend themselves in time, having lost their mother figure and live because of that sacrifice.
April 14, 1750 Took a trip around the 'ally after a visit with a friend. Bergon & Burkes Urn of Nimbus
"Inscription reads that its if from ancient Egypt, but has no date. Used as an advertisement, but won't be sold without closed curtain or on business hours. Tried to get it, bust failed. Wizards with well-financed network associates or checkbooks have been seen doing business for it.
April 22, 1750 Gone to a final interview at M.o.M. Saw an interesting item. #28 Golden Gear Device Box
*addictive* Gift from a curious visitor who said it would help, not hinder.
The Tour guide/recruiter would not tell me more.
May 6th, 1750 Weird spell in my grandmother's collection. Shady dealing again? Found it in some nasty book as I was cleaning out her attic. "Old lawed Caster: The how and tells of a successful Ministry of Magic disapproved magic." Griptide
Seagraph rise and drag you down into H20 Draw a spiral in the sand. Wait for moonlight on the land. Take your bait and stick a blade, tween the shoulders and the head.
Place the head in an enchanted circle. Spell-cast for full potential. If the circle disappears, the trigger trap will soon appear. 48 hours before and after, Do not get caught in your victims' laughter.
1/3 Undead Army Summon
May 12, 1750 Found a dragon Egg holding box. Not sure it is legal or not, but I can keep it under the floorboards and bring it to a sactuary at some point. The yard sale had a tag on it:
"Black market unless liscensed 1/3 for Necromancers army May burn or crack; This is your only warning.
June 13 1750 Stumble across a 'Cyber Falcon', #75, in my internship. 100 jobs I'm qualified to do, and they make me clean up after lazier higher ups.
"He's a small gift from the Ares Cabin. A bit singed, it was still in remarkable condition." The ministry is now looking into this "Camp Half-Blood" as it might have been a private joke between two muggles, but if it has Half-bloods, we have a new supply of students.
June 26 1750 Spent some time checking up on magical items again. Saw a curio, a note. "Deathly Hollow's Emblem"
Symbolic of the three brothers who defeated death, influence of power, cleverness, and brains. Gold and blue, 1/3 of this Necromancers army *most american dollar portholes enchanted to protect wizards safety*
December 25th, 1750 Boss is onto me. He thinks I'm leaking valuable information. Seems to think this journal is something of an anomoly. Keeps asking if he can take it to be sure. Decided to hide it in a secure and valued place, just so my future children have proof. I do not think they will take my side when the Ministry of Magic is involved.
Scrap Searcher...#82
"A broken looking box, an associate discovered it has odd symbols painted on the sides. They look similar to Greek lettering, but do not seem to stand out. The original discovery team pressed the symbols and over half of the team collapsed. The remaining few closed the box lid and two of the fallen were revived. The twelve that remained fallen were found to be dead.
Deemed a threat, but not quite examined. The experts are not sure how to go about it. A Lotus sits atop."
