Today, Bala was particularly bored. The forest around him was full of sounds - the leaves rustled as a breeze rolled by, birds called to one another, and a brook trickled somewhere nearby. He had decided to play a new game. He'd search for things that are a color hard to find in the forest and see what interesting things turn up. But what color should he hunt for?
He looked at his surroundings, trying to decide. Not green...or brown, he thought. Almost everything is made of those colors since there are so many plants. He glanced up at the sky just as a puffy, bright, white cloud drifted across his field of vision. That's it! I've always loved the bright, pure color of clouds, he thought excitedly. I'll be sure to find something interesting during my search. He walked through the bushes, carefully picking his path. He heard a nearby rustle and spied a flash of white. Although he tried to creep closer to see what it was, at the last second he stepped on a twig, snapping it. A rabbit darted out in front of him and dashed away. Darn, gotta start over again.
He looked around and spied another patch of something white. Happily, he began to move toward it. I wonder what I'll find this time?
