Neutral Quote: Arick’s shop is movable, and he sets up shop within one of the cities in Magesc. That is where you have found him today. His shop is just inside one of the main cities on either Serenia or Soudul (you choose).
You have found your way to Peddler’s Rock. A traveling shop for everything, including some things not quite legal. A tall and burly Dovaa greets you as you come in and asks if you have a moment to spare.
"Hey there little one, may I have a word with you? I'm in a bit of a bind. You see, got a spot of trouble that needs dealing with but I can’t leave my shop unattended. Could you lend me a hand, perhaps?"
If you agree, continue to read, otherwise RP your response and leave the adventure.
He smiles with relief upon your agreement, "Thanks a bunch, partner. I have a few tasks, mostly need some help restocking, but there is one that I’d like you to do first. Not really all that earth-shattering, just…finding something for me." he says, rubbing the back of his head a bit embarrassed.
Go to Task 1. "Miserable woman..." a young, particularly irate Orderite grumbled as he went about his business. He'd been sent on the herculean task of finding a replacement for his Mistress's favorite vase that, after some sheer bad luck on the part of one of the other servants, shattered into a million and one pieces earlier that morning. Ainsley was still sore from the beating, though he hid the evidence of any such acts well enough.
He wasn't happy though, as he'd been searching for a good long while and had yet to find anything even coming close to resembling the vase. The boy knew he was given more than enough for a replacement, so he continued to browse whatever shops he happened by to see if he could find something to spend the spare change on. Eventually, he came across a rather peculiar stall. He didn't see who was manning the place, so he started to browse. Quills and books and weapons and cauldrons...
When a voice called out from behind him in greeting, he turned around in relative shock, nearly knocking back an item on that stand beside him. Luckily it balanced itself out, and while he huffed an apology and a slight complaint about scaring the crap out of customers, the gigantic (from his standpoint, anyway) Dovaa went on about some request or another. The blonde gave it some thought before agreeing. He could use the distraction; maybe he'd find the vase if he wasn't actually looking for it.
"Yeah sure, I guess," Ainsley said with a shrug. "So what am I looking for?"

Task 1 Quote: "I've lost a letter on my way here this morning. It’s extremely important to me and I’d prefer that no one read it." a small blush and awkward expression passes over his face. "But since I can’t leave the shop, you’ll have to go back along my path and try to find it for me."
The path to the shop is a rather winding one with many bushes, trees, and shrubs along it. So many places for a letter to hide.
Roll 1d100. 1-10: You find it but it’s been opened already! You return and may say you didn’t find it or you may give it to him. Have fun explaining why it’s open. Go to Opened Letter or Failure (if you decide to say you didn’t find it).
11-70: You find the letter and it’s closed. You may open it and read it, or you may return it to him unopened. Or you may not return it if you don’t want too. If you return it unopened go to Success. If you open it go to Opened Letter.
71-100: You can’t find it at all. Go to Opened Letter. After being given the general directions to follow the peddler's path, Ainsley goes on his way. Luckily he knew the back ways of Serenia like the back of his own hand, the result of having lived with his parents outside of the city for most of his young life (at least up until recently), so he had no trouble navigating his way through all the bushes, thickets, trees and general shrubbery that littered the path.
He spent a long enough time looking, and just as he was about to give up and go back to his task of searching for that darn vase, as it seemed as though searching for a letter on a path into the city wasn't likely to increase his chances of finding the vase, a small speck of white caught his eye. Moving toward it, he recognizes it as an envelope and immediately goes and makes a grab for it.
Ainsley inspects the letter for a minute, holding up to the sunlight to see if he could make anything out on the inside, but aside from the shape of the paper inside of it there was nothing to see. Although he was curious to know, his task didn't involve reading the letter, so the young Orderite simply tucked it into his belt and went back to Arick, humming a tune his mother used to lull him to sleep with as he went.
» Go to Success. Quote: Arick grins, so he’d judged you right! You were good enough to do the tasks he needed done. So nice to know that there are dependable people out there.

Task 2 Quote: This task is more important, his stock of pearly scales is running low and he needs you to go get three for him. He tells you that there are two ways to get them. One is to fight an Oralrik and the second is to search the banks of Serenia’s lakes for the scales.
You must RP your traveling and search/fighting.

Roll 1d100. 1-10: Failure, you find nothing. You may return to Arick with nothing or try to fight an Oralrik instead. Go to Fight or Failure.
11-99: Success! You find 3 of them. You may give all 3 to Arick or nothing at all. Go to Success if you give them to him or Failure if you decide to keep them.
100: Success! You find 6 scales! You may keep 3 and give 3 to Arick. Go to Success. Pearly scales, huh? Ainsley pondered over his options and, after deciding that he didn't want to beat on an Oralrik for the sake of a random peddler that he'd never met before, figured he could scour the lake instead. He'd had a relatively fair level of success when he was younger, so why not now?
It didn't take too long, actually. It didn't even take him more than a few minutes to happen across a small cluster of exactly three scales! Smiling, Ainsley made a grab for the scales, rinsed them off in the lake, and headed back to Arick, the scales bouncing around in the pouch he'd put them in for safekeeping.

Task 3 Quote: This time he needs Nocturnal Spikes, he’s out and a customer came by asking for some and he said that he would have some by tomorrow.
You may fight an Riistäjä for its Spikes or you may search the forest of Souldul for them.
You must RP your traveling and search/fighting.

Roll 1d100. 1-10: Failure, you find nothing. You may return to Arick with nothing or try to fight a Riistäjä instead. Go to Fight or Failure if you decide to return with nothing.
11-99: Success! You find 2 of them. You may give all 2 to Arick or nothing at all. Go to Success if you give them to him or Failure if you decide to keep them.
100: Success! You find 4 spikes! You may keep 2 and give 2 to Arick. Go to Success. Now the next task Ainsley found a bit more daunting than the last two. First off, he would have to leave Serenia for it. He wasn't technically allowed to leave, at least not if his Mistress had anything to do about it. Second, he'd never actually left Serenia before, but instead of being scared and hesitant, the young Orderite found he was more excited than anything else. What would he run into while out in the open world? Who would he meet? What would he see?
The only downside he would see was death... but he highly doubted careful searching of a simple forest (which he had a good deal of experience in, at least if you consider wandering around as a child in a forest on Serenia as "careful searching") would end with him getting mauled to death by some animal or another.
"In any case," he mumbled to himself as he boarded the ferry that was headed for Soudul, "Death would probably be better than where I currently am."
His thoughts during the ride were less than pleasant, and eventually they docked and he disembarked, fiery red eyes taking in anything and everything around him. He mingled in as best he could, but couldn't quite ignore the looks he got from the darker-skinned Oblivionites. He'd seen one before, and he couldn't deny giving her a similar look as he passed. The young Orderite kind of regretted it now, but simply pushed aside the feeling and hurried into what looked like a good thicket of trees to start his search.
The search felt like it went on for hours, and Ainsley was both tired, dirty, and very, very far from home. He couldn't quite tell if it was dark out, considering the atmosphere of Soudul was so much darker than he was used to, so just to be careful the young blonde decided it was probably time to go. As he tried to find his way back to an exit, however, something caught his eye. Hurrying over, he nearly whooped in excitement over coming across exactly two Nocturnal Spikes dangling in the brush. Ainsley gathered them up and stuffed them in his pouch, then spent maybe another half hour finding his way back out of the forest.
It was lucky, probably, that he even managed to find his way out, and even luckier that he made the ferry that was going back to Serenia. Upon landing, Ainsley came to realize a new appreciation for his home, and hurried back to Arick with the Dovaa's requested spikes.

Final Quote: If Arick receives all 3 you get the Gaili Orb and an Ayrala Dragon's Tear. He is happy and relieved. "Oh, thank you so very much, young one. You really did me good there! Here, take this orb and tear as thanks for a job well done!"
If Arick only receives 2 out of the 3 items, than you receive just a Peisio Orb instead. "Well, you didn’t get everything, but you certainly did me a favor, so here, take this orb as thanks."
If he gets only one item than you only get a Kiandri Orb. "Well, at least one task got done. Thanks for your time, little one, take this as thanks."
If he gets nothing he sighs and simply waves you away with a very disappointed look upon his face. Ainsley kind of stared at the Orb and Tear he was given with a sense of awe and amazement. He'd never seen either before and, after mumbling a quiet thanks to the peddler, set off for home. He carefully tucked the two new items away for safekeeping, knowing well that his Mistress would take them from him the minute she saw them, and hurried back. He'd likely get another beating for not finding that vase he was sent to find, and probably even more of a beating considering he'd come back so late in the day (it was actually already evening), but he didn't feel any sort of regret about it.
In fact, it stirred something up inside of him. Something that'd been lying dormant since that fateful night, and he didn't know what it was it yet, but the young Orderite had an inkling that this was likely that start of the next phase of his life.» Complete. Gave all 3 items, received x1 Gaili Orb and x1 Ayrala Dragon's Tear.
