Junjie gazed up into the massive tree that he'd found during his exploration, hands resting on his hips as he did so. It really was huge, wasn't it? The biggest tree that he'd seen to this point, and he really wanted nothing more then to see how far he would be able to see were he to get up there. The problem being that he wasn't quite sure how to get up there. Climbing a tree wasn't something he'd had a chance to do before which had just led to him circling around it a few times before he found himself completely perplexed over what his next move was going to be, "Hmm... what to do..." He mused to himself, as he took a few steps back to look up at the tree, guessing the distance between ground and the lowest branches. Twice his height at least, meaning he would need a boost. He couldn't very well bring his mother here and ask her to help him up into a tree so that he could climb it up into the sky though, could he? She was more then likely to have a heart attack over such a request.
"A shame I don't have some rope." He said, as he started to walk around the base of the tree, one of his hands resting against it as he moved, then he gave a squeak as an idea hit him, "OH! I got it!" Looking quickly from side to side the boy made sure that nobody was around, at least none that he saw right away, and he sent to shrugging out of the long cloak that his mother insisted that he always wear whenever he left the house. There wasn't anyone about so surely it would be alright for him to use it in the place of rope he thought to himself. He would tie the end of it into a big knot, try to catch that in the crook between the branches of the tree, and climb up into it that way! With a plan in mind he set to work tying the knot that he would need. Once it looked like what would be needed he set to tossing up into the tree time and again, trying to get it to catch in a secure enough manner that he would be able to haul himself up into the tree without risking a fall. Were he to get himself hurt the leeway that his mother was giving him to this point would likely dissolve away as quickly as it came.
The moment the makeshift cloak rope caught he gave it a tug to make sure to make sure he did started to make the slow, shambling climb up the thick trunk of the tree, his wings flapping rapidly as he went as though trying to aid Jun in his climb.

Akilae had been quietly trekking through the forest on the way to the village that lay on the other side. The order had him familiarizing himself with a wide swath of the Serenian countryside. Eventually Akilae's first mission would revolve around one one the small villages he continued to be assigned to observe. This mean knowing the area well both so he could approach the situation carefully or flee easily if things backfired. Not that the young hybrid boy had any intention of letting things go wrong. He was going to do this perfectly and show his father that he should have faith in him and his ability to carry out the order's will.
He paused and frowned in confusion as he spotted someone attempting to climb a tree nearby. Edging his way closer silently Akilae peered closer at the stranger. They were... they were a hybrid like him, only instead of oblivionite blood mingling with dovaa the other's feathered wings gave him away as part orderite. It was such a shame, Akilae thought as he moved closer, cloaked in a dark blue hooded robe. Why was it he was always meeting people when they were in trees?
"If you fall, who do I take you to?"

As a voice called up to the scrambling Junjie he answered instantly and without any sort of hesitation to the question that had posed to him, "To my Mom, please." He told the voice, then gave pause when it finally seemed to sink in that someone was talking to him. Turning slowly he looked over his shoulder, eyes falling upon the one that was standing there and he gave a little gasp along with the word, "Wow..." Just plain wow! Look at him he found himself thinking before he slid down the makeshift rope, turning around to face the other boy. Just look at him! He had dark, ebony skin, really strange eyes, and the brightest green horns that he had ever seen! This boy was definitely something special and like nothing Jun had ever seen!
Forgotten about the tree for a moment he instead walked over to the other boy, not really realizing that he was starring openly at him, "Wow! You look amazing!" He said, not even thinking about how it might sound, unable to help but to compliment the other boy. He must be an Oblivionite he thought to himself, those that came from that dark land that he had visited for a very short period of time when he was searching of Nocturnal Spikes for Arick. He'd been unable to see one of the people that lived there, not even at a distance, which had been a shame but this more then made up for that. With his tone brimming with curiosity he couldn't help but to ask, "Are you from Souldul?" That would be neat, to say that he had met someone from there... though he supposed that he really didn't have anyone to tell, did he? His mother still had no idea that he'd gone there on an errand after all.
Taking another step closer he felt the overwhelming desire to lift a hand to touch the other boy's dark skin, but refrained from doing so, though just barely. Instead he just stood there, nearly bouncing in place from excitement over getting to meet someone so new and different from those he'd met thus far.

Oooh! Akilae had not expected this as a response and he basked in the attention is presence had gotten. He hadn't even done anything and he had the other hybrid's full attention, what luck. He couldn't help but grin with pleasure before responding to the other boy's question. "I'm from Soudul," he confirmed, that much he was permitted to say as it didn't give much away about his home. "Our trees are different than yours." Something he had noticed the first time he had come to Serenia.
Akilae leaned against a tree and examined the other boy further. They both had violet eyes that spoke of being dovaa with no clans yet. He wondered what the other would choose, hopefully Ysali or he would have to be cast aside in the future, fit for nothing better than servitude. "You look interesting too," he admitted. Feathered wings and spiraling horns were flashy even if their colours seemed a little dull. Overall he would term this boy as sort of well.. pretty, which wasn't something Akilae was used to thinking about outsiders.

Jun gave a pleased sort of sound when the other boy confirmed that he was in fact from Souldul, something that he had to admit was far to exciting. He had never thought that he would be so lucky as to run across someone from there, especially here! He smile again, "That is so neat!" He said, then nodded when the other boy said that their trees were different from those in Serenia, "Yeah, I know." He said, the lowered his voice to a whisper as he said, "I went there once to find some Nocturnal Spikes." He didn't want anyone but this particular boy to hear that he had been in Souldul, not when his mother would likely have a heart attack were she to learn that he had gone to the dark continent even if it was to help someone else. The last thing that he wanted was to start an argument between his Mom and Mister Arick, certain that it would just be an awkward thing to be around for certain.
When the other boy said that Junjie looked interesting too he couldn't help but to flush a little bit, his wings giving a little flutter, "R-Really? Thank you." He said, finding the compliment to be a welcome thing. Not something he got often outside of those that he got from his mother, something that he felt didn't really count since your parents were supposed to give you compliments like that. This was something better, something special, and something that made him just a little bit giddy, "That is really nice of you to say, though I think you look far more interesting then I do." He said, wondering if all Oblivionites had horns like this one did. He'd never seen one before now so maybe?
Looking closer the dark skinned boy almost looked as though he had scales, something similar to what Junjie himself had, something that made him curious if perhaps this boy had a little Dovaa in him? It wasn't a question he wanted to ask though, not sure how to broach such a subject without sounding rude or just blurting the question out. Best to be careful, he didn't want to chase off the first Oblivionite that he'd ever met so quickly with such a question after all, not when he might be able to keep him around and spent a bit more time with him so that he could maybe learn more about him and Souldul, curious as to what the Dark Continent was like since he'd only seen a teeny bit of it.

Akilae was surprised to learn that the other boy had been to Soudul on some sort of adventure and just a little bit jealous. He himself had not really seen that much of Soudul given that until you became a novice you could not leave the Order's compound. Now that he was a novice though he didn't have all that much free time for running about and exploring. Of course he did get to see a lot of Serenia in return but it made Akilae unhappy that this stranger new parts of his home continent better than he did. A stranger without a drop of oblivionite blood in him at that.
The way the other boy seemed to focus on him and move closer was amusing to Akilae and he quite intended keep the most welcome attention. "I'm real you know, name's Tyrok and you can touch me, just not the eyes." It was really really weird when someone tried to poke inside his eyes although it didn't hurt unless they touched the spark of violet that served as pupils.

Jun gave a little laugh when the other boy told him that he was real, something that he couldn't help but to find funny, "Oh! Sorry, yes I know! It's just you are the first from Souldul I have ever met." He admitted, "When I went there for Mister Arick I didn't see anyone. I just got the spikes and came back." That wasn't important now though, was it? No, what was important was that he got to meet this boy now, Tyrok he said his name, even that was neat! Giving a smile he said, "It's ncie to meet you Tyrok! I'm Jun!" He introduced himself, wings giving a little flutter.
When given permission to touch Tyrok, save for his eyes which was an odd request, he nodded his head, "Alright! Though I wouldn't want to poke at your eyes, I assure you." He said, lifting his hands up to brush his fingertips against the scales on the other boy's cheeks, then up to touch those shockingly bright horns that he had, something that seemed to almost glow due to how bright they were compared to Tyrok's dark skin, "Your horns are so neat, such a bright color!" He said, then asked as he lowered his hands down to his sides, done with touching on Tyrok for the moment, "Do all of the Oblivionites have such bright colored horns? I have never seen one of you before now so I don't know much about your people." His mother didn't seem to talk about them either, perhaps because they lived near to a Orderite village? Not to mention the fact that one of them had nearly killed the man that would end up being his father. There were many reasons why the Dovaa woman wouldn't talk about them, but it was alright, now he had a real Oblivionite that he could ask things.
"Is it always so dark in Souldul?" He asked next, seeming quite curious about him and where he came from, "Have you ever seen the beasts that drop Nocturnal Spikes? I think they were called..." He paused to think about then said, "Riistäjä, that was what Mister Arick called them. I never saw them, just their spikes. Have you seen any of them? I'm a little curious what they're like." He said in a very curious and very chatty manner.

Normally Akilae would not have allowed a stranger to be so close to him, it was risky after all to let those you didn't know touch you. Jun seemed honest enough though. Subconsciously the boy's craved the positive attention this openness allowed. He hadn't even done anything and he was already a person of interest and worth in Jun's eyes. Akilae could not have been more pleased.
"I have never seen any oblivionites with horns," he replied with a thoughtful look on his face. The few masters he had seen were certainly impressive looking with their wings and tails but horns were something limited to dovaa so far as Akilae knew. "I get my horns from my dovaa blood." These words were accompanied with a sigh. Even though being a hybrid would allow him a unique way to fulfill his role within the Order it was still a source of frustration.
Akilae distractedly dug into the dirt with the tip of his shoe as he answered the next question. "It doesn't feel dark to me, it feels just right, it's why the forest of Serenia are better then the open areas." Serenia was filled with bright flashy things that seemed designed to distract a person and keep them from noticing the subtle things happening in their surroundings. "Riistäjä are too dangerous for me to go near where they live. I've seen stuff made with their hide and fur though, it's really pretty.." When he was strong enough Akilae was going to hunt Riistäjä and similar creatures so that he could have the nicest looking clothes for when he wasn't working.

Junjie gave an 'ohhhh' sound when Tyrok told him that he had never seen any of his people with horns, saying that he got his horns from his Dovaa blood. So this boy was like him then? He had been a little curious about whether or not that were so given that he seemed to have some dark scales on his cheeks but he didn't want to assume anything given that he knew nothing of the Oblivionites. They might very well have such features for all he knew, "I see." He murmured, then lifted a hand to the bigger of his two mismatched horns and said, "I am the same, though I am sure it's kinda obvious, huh?" Dovaa didn't have wings after all and he knew that his had been flapping away behind him when he was trying to climb up that tree. That his boy was like him, but different at the same time, it was something that was quite interesting and amazing to him.
Leaning in slightly, Jun seemed to be all ears when Tyrok told him how Souldul didn't feel dark to him, that instead it 'felt just' right to him instead. He gave a soft smile, "Ohhh, I see." He murmured, the way the other boy said it, his words made it sound so wonderful! It also made him curious about what Souldul look like through the other boy's eyes. He said it 'felt right' which made him quite curious about the Dark Continent though he couldn't help but wonder if maybe going there too much could be dangerous since he did have the Orderite blood flowing through his veins even if to this point he'd been raised by his full Dovaa parent.
As the conversation moved to the beast that he had asked about and how it was far too dangerous to go near to where lived at their age he gave a nod of his head. That he understood full well, he'd seen the damage they could do without really trying but that Tyrok had seen stuff made of their hides furs, pretty things only made him that much more curious about them, "They seem to have a lot of uses for such dangerous creatures." He mused, wondering exactly what it was that Mister Arick was planning to use their Spikes for. He should have asked when he delivered then he thought to himself, giving a little flutter of his wings, "Well, maybe we will both see them sometime." He said to Tyrok, though he'd rather wait until he was a little older and stronger before he poked at one of them.

" We could fight one together when we're stronger," Akilae offered with a grin. Hunting with another hybrid was an opportunity the young boy probably wouldn't have very often. They weren't horribly common to begin with and who knew when Akilae would meet another. If he could befriend Jun it would be nice to have someone sort of like himself. Akilae was quickly becoming firm on the idea of keeping Jun as a friend. It might require a lot of work but it would be worth it he was sure! He might even be able to influence the other's choice of clan and thus save him during the final battle. Unlike Esme there was still hope for Jun, if only he would choose Ysali. Well and if he could be convinced to not fight against the Oblivionites when the time came. The other hybrid boy could be saved though and it would be a secondary mission for Akilae, right after his duties to the Order.
"There's not a lot of feathered things on Soudul," he noted while looking at Jun's frequently moving wings. They were small now but he had been taught that child Orderites could glide with them and fly when they were older and grew extra sets of wings. Akilae might gain wings when he grew but there was no guarantee, sometimes hybrids did not gain all the traits of their parent races even if both dovaa and oblivionites gained wings later in life.
"Could I touch yours?" He wondered how different Jun's feathers felt to the few types he had encountered back home

"Fight one together." Jun murmured, not sure what he thought about facing off against such a strong beast but having the other boy there alongside him would help to bolster his courage he decided. Giving a smile and a nod he said, "Sure! Once we are stronger we will see about facing off against the Riistäjä together." He told Tyrok, liking the idea if only because that meant that he would meet with this boy again sometime in the future. A part of him worried about the idea of not being able to meet up again with the paltry few people he'd met while on his own. He wanted to be able to see them again, even if it meant having to man up and face off against something that was scary, covered in spikes, and lived in Souldul. He would do it if it meant being able to perhaps call Tyrok a friend one day.
When Tyrok mentioned a lack of feathered things on Souldul his curiosity started to grow again, "Really? What sorts of things do you have there in place of the feathered things?" He asked, wondering how different the wildlife on Souldul was compared to what was roaming around Serenia. Given that he hadn't seen anything around the places he'd gone with dark spikes, instead they had those pearly scales he realized. It made him want that much more to spend a bit more time on Souldul, maybe with a heavy cloak and a whole lot of caution? Then again that tended to go along with everywhere he went, save for up trees since he'd been using his cloak to get himself up there.
"Hrm? Touch my wings?" He asked, his mother was always telling him how he should hide his wings, that he shouldn't let anyone see them, and he was almost positive that she didn't want anyone touching them either... but it would be rude of him to go poking at Tyrok without letting him do the same in return. After a moment of thought he smile and opened up his wings, giving them a little flutter, "Sure! I don't mind." No reason not to let him inspect his wings.

Akilae reached out careful and ran his his fingers along the soft feathers, careful to go with how they lay and not against them. It really was a shame there were more creature with oh what was the word.. plim , plam, plumage! It was shame Soudul didn't have a lot of creatures with such nice plumage. " Mostly we've got lots of furry beasts, dragons and some lizard creatures." Soudul didn't lack for wildlife that was pretty but it didn't have the variety he had seen here in feathered things. Feathers which in and of themselves seemed to come in endless varieties. At least his trips to Serenia allowed Akilae to add more to his collections.
"You're wings are very soft and sort of tickly, do they tickle you when they come out?' Akilae knew Orderites had special markings on their back that contained their wings but the finer details of how it worked were mystery to him.

Junjie watched as the other boy set to touching his feathers, something that was quite new since he was so used to trying to hide his wings from people. To not only let someone see them but also to let them touch them! It was something he was going to have to keep a secret from his mother, along with most of this meeting actually. He didn't want to let her know that he was chatting with a stranger from Souldul since she might worry. Better that this was just a meeting that he could think back on fondly he decided to himself. As Tyrok spoke of the creatures in Souldul, how they had furry beasts, dragons, and lizards he gave a nod of his head, "Ohhh... I see." He murmured, then asked in a curious manner, "Do you have Drakein and Keinling there? I met a girl who had two of them following her around, it was quite neat! Though the big one didn't like me much." Not that he could blame Uassae he supposed given their first meeting.
When Tyrok commented on his his wings were soft and tickly he gave a little laugh, "They are quite soft, I agree." He said, then shook his head he was asked if they tickled him when they came out, "Not that I have noticed, no. Then again then they tend to pop out the most when I am excited or scared or some other strong emotion. As such my attention is usually elsewhere." He wondered idly if they would be ticklish if he were actually paying attention when they popped out. Something he'd have to experiment with later he decided. Giving a little flutter of his brown wings he let them close against his back when it seemed that Tyrok was done with them.

"Hmm. yes we have drakein on Soudul," he frowned slightly. " I wouldn't want to bond with one though, it would be weird, like if you used blood magic to tie two people together." A thing which he had heard could be done but was not widely practiced or condoned even within the Order. Of course he didn't agree with the drakein killing anyone who had bonded to a drakein either since that would kill the bonded and sometimes the circumstances of how a person ended up with a bonded drakein weren't always about stealing an egg. It was sort of complicated and something Akilae had every intention of staying clear of outside of voicing his opinion on occasion.
"I guess your wings coming out randomly would keep you from pretending to be a dovaa." Akilae had heard that sometimes hybrids strongly resembled one part of their parentage enough to pass for just that race from time to time. Junjie seemed like he could sneak into the celestial fortress if he could just keep his wings in check. Akilae most strongly resembled an oblivionite but he still had enough prominent dovaa features to keep him from passing as a pureblood.

When he confirmed that there were Drakein on Souldul he gave a bit of a nod, wondering what else might have been around when he was there that one time that he had missed. Obviously quite a bit, which was a bit of a bother. He really would have liked to have seen more but given that he was supposed to get there, get the spikes, and get out. He felt as though he'd missed everything in his rush. As Tyrok spoke of the Drakein and how he wouldn't want to bond with one he couldn't help but to be curious, especially when he mentioned blood magic. Cocking his head to one side he asked, "What is Blood Magic?" There was yet another thing that he had never heard of before, something that sounded a little on the creepy side. Given that he didn't want to judge a whole sect of magic on it's name alone maybe he should see what Tyrok knew about it and what he could tell him?
Looking over his shoulder at his wings he gave a nod at the question posed to him, "Yeah... it's something I am trying to get under control. I want to be able to go back to go places that other people go to... places that aren't just the middle of no where but I can't at the moment." If his wings decided to pop out at the wrong time he might very well get himself into a whole boat load of trouble. Not something he wanted to do, that was for sure, "One day, when I get them to better obey, I think I want to try traveling." It would be so much fun to go somewhere other then a short distance from home. He wanted to go... well, to further out places. He hadn't really figured out where he wanted to go he just he wanted to go somewhere that wasn't here!
In his mind it was a bit of a bother, that he would have to pretend to be something that he wasn't, just to fit in but better that he fit in as a Dovaa instead of getting looked down upon because he was hybrid. Giving a little flutter of his his wings before he willed them back into hiding he walked over to where his cloak was hiding, catching hold of it, and shook it until it came loose. He set about untying the knot as he turned to look at Tyrok, "Until I can get them to listen the best I can do is hide under the cloak my Mom gave me." He explained as he shook out the wrinkles that tying it had left behind.
