Feliks was standing behind the register at Mad Marxz Skate shop looking pretty bored and tapping his pen against the glass counter top as he scribbled down new ideas. Mostly to do with his sisters and their new idea of wanting some weird style of hat-scarf things... all four of them... and all four wanted different styles of hat-scarf things.
"Fashion is so weird..." He muttered as he scribbled out what he was trying to come up with. His sewing skills were limited but his sisters insisted on him making things. He didn't understand why one of the eldest sisters couldn't do it but nooo he was the oldest so it was he who got picked to do the work.
Really he was hoping for a customer to show up so that he could take a break from all this thinking, he was pretty sure he was starting to smell smoke coming from his ears.

Fritz, to his credit, found the board shop relatively quickly, in spite of the fact that he often got lost wandering down the street in his daydreamy sort of nature. But he'd actually thought the whole "pretending to be falling off his skateboard thing to explain away injuries" was actually pretty smart, so here he was, bursting into the Mad Marxz Skate Shop with much more energy than was probably necessary.
"Gooooood moor - oh, Feliks!"
Hoping he'd gotten the name right, Fritz stuck his hands in the pockets of his khakis and strolled towards the counter, smiling brightly.
"Hello, new friend, how are you today?"

Feliks looked up from his work as someone awful cheery busted through the door to the shop. Totally not something he expected, "Oh hello Fritz."
He smiled as he sat his pen down and straightened the papers he'd been working on. "I'm doing well, yourself? I hope you didn't have any troubles finding the shop." He added with a smile.
Once everything was straightened and cleaned up so that the register desk didn't look like a mess, "Here to check out our boards? We actually got in a new shipment today, so you're in at the right time."

"Nope, no trouble at all, and I'm doing grand, thank you," said Fritz cheerfully, waving a noncommittal hand and leaning against the counter Feliks was currently sitting behind, propping his chin up in his hands, elbows down.
"So," he said conversationally. "As it stands, I'm in the market of a new board, having decided to take you up on your previous offer of assisting me. So - "
Fritz straightened and glanced around.
"Where do I start."

Feliks could help but chuckle, "Glad you didn't have any trouble." There was a pause as Feliks thought, "Honestly, I think Marxz might be worried someone can't find the place even after he had the side wall graffiti."
He lowered his voice, "Something about it not being big enough to read." Feliks shrugged as he walked out from behind the counter, "HM, where do you start."
It was a good question, "Do you have a helmet? Knee pads, elbow pads?" He looked at Fritz, "Silly questions but sometimes you'd rather have something to save your shins and your brain over not having them." Granted if he was just riding around town on the board and not doing something dumb like trying to jump a half pipe he didn't really practice safe boarding.... he was totally a pot calling the kettle black.
"But if you're without those it's probably the best place to start. You need them for just about everything anyways... At least, if you actually use them you do." He sounded a little guilty.

Fritz laughed, coughed, and cleared his throat, attempting to keep a straight face. Eyes twinkling with amusement, he said, "I, er, think I probably have a helmet somewhere in my loft. Definitely none of the other things, though, I'm afraid."
He grinned and added, "I'll probably stop using them after awhile, but until I do, I'll most likely need all the padding I can get."

Feliks couldn't help but chuckle a bit, "Well at least you have a helmet, that's more than some people."
He showed Fritz to the wall of accessories which held all colors of elbow pads and knee pads, "They kind of range from cheap to really expensive, but pick out whatever you like." It was just about a rainbow of pads that took up a whole display rack.
"Yeah after a while, if you're not doing half pipes and stupid tricks you should be okay." He paused, "When you start grinding rails and stuff that's when you actually need those, and maybe a little more than that." He'd seen his share of guys taking some not so pleasant hits because they screwed up, "It's worse than watching that sort of stuff on America's Funny Home Videos." He added.
"After this we can check out the boards, some of them have some pretty gnarly art on them."

"The helmet was leftover from an unfortunate biking incident in my earlier youth," said Fritz delicately, as though trying to hide the fact that it was probably just a really embarrassing bike ride into a bush. "I have my helmet for when my brother and I ride his bike, but that's a motorcycle helmet, so it's a tad different."
He followed Feliks obediently, eyes scanning briefly over the pads before he plucked up a set of green ones, waving them around in amusement.
"These seem colorful enough! I say we move onto the boards."

Feliks nodded, "Ah it happens, as long as it still fits well." He added as he watched Fritz looking at the wall of pads. When he choose a green set Feliks nodded, "They do, Marxz tries to keep in every color possible because if we don't have one, that's the color someone wants."
He shook his head as he walked towards the boards motioning for Fritz to follow, "Seriously it's ridiculous how some of the people act that come in here. Most of the regulars are pretty cool, it's the parents I always worry about though. 'But my child has to have hello kitty pads.'" He sighed, "My little sisters wouldn't even care about that because they'd cry if they scuffed kitty's face."
He stopped at the wall of boards which spanned the whole back wall and then some. "These, are all the boards we have." He paused and pointed to some of the floor displays, "Some of these are the newer ones we got in. Surely there's something that suits you. I can go in the back and grab one. And if you don't like the wheels on it we can get you some better ones when you get use to rolling around on the stock ones." He said.

"Lots of colors is an excellent plan," said Fritz cheerily, and stuck the pads under his arm, following Feliks to the opposite wall. "Also Hello Kitty pads strikes me as very awkward. I have no sisters of my own, but I do have an ex-girlfriend, and she was never into anything pink. Or," he amended. "Not that pink."
The wall of boards was enormous and quite overwhelming. Fritz took a long time just staring blankly, and then he began pacing, tapping his chin thoughtfully as he scrutinized his choices, looking at each and every board.
After what seemed like forever, he lifted his head decisively, took a step forward, and pointed.
"That one."

Feliks nodded, "Yeah they strike me as odd too, but since those crazy parents come around we have to carry some of them. My sisters prefer ponies anyways, but still pads should be solid colors, or patterned at the least and not have characters on them. Helmets and boards work better for that sort of thing."
He'd patted one of the new Child's boards they had in, it had ponies on it. He busied himself while Fritz was looking for a board by straightening the displays so that Marxz wouldn't fuss at him for the ones that'd fallen crooked. He looked up when Fritz finally picked out a board, "Alright White Rainbow Panda?" He made a note of the maker, "I'll be right back, let me grab it out of the back."
For a few moments Feliks disappeared as he searched for the board unpacking several other boards of that brand before finding the right one. "They need to label these things better." He muttered as he pulled out the board and walked out of the back, holding it for Fritz to see it and feel the weight. "Like I said if the wheels aren't what you want, when you get use to the board we can change those out for some better ones, we keep the hardware for that in stock to."
He looked at the board and the pads, "Hm is there anything else you want?" He asked. "We've got stuff to clean the board with, but it's not quite as important as say cleaning a surf board."

"Parents," said Fritz grandly. "are generally known to be crazy. Granted, my mum and dad aren't totally mad, but they can be a little off their rockers sometimes."
It was said with clear affection, Fritz smiling. "And yes, the panda one it is! I'm not sure what it is about that one, but I kept going back to it, so I figured it was the obvious choice."
He leaned against the counter as he waited, and when Feliks came back, Fritz held the board in both hands, balancing it against his palms. "Feels nice," he said, and grinned. "Not that I would know better or anything, but everything looks the way it should, and I like it the way it is."
"I would like some cleaning supplies though, yes," he added, setting the board and the pads on top of the counter.

Feliks laughed, "Oh lord do I know, I have my grandparents and my parents to deal with, but I end up doing most of the stuff they don't have time to do for my sisters." He paused, "Hopefully I'm a million times better than they are."
He nodded, "Yeah, usually if you keep going back to one it's speaking to you. Trusting your gut sometimes is the best way to go."
He nodded when Fritz said he liked it the way it was, "Alright~" Before holding up a finger to show he'd be back as he moved to grab a 'starter kit' for cleaning. It didn't take him long to locate it. "Here we go, your basic soap, wax and rags. There's your microfiber cloths, these are the waxing rags, and this is just a normal terrycloth rag."
He shrugged, "Best deal, and you can use the microfiber cloths on other things than just the board."

"I have to deal with Tolliver," Fritz deadpanned. "That's my brother, by the way, we live together, and since we're twins, everyone automatically assumes we're on the same wavelength. Wildly untrue, I might add - for the most part."
He looked happily down at the little pile of things he'd accumulated. "Well, this will certainly put a dent in my meager artist's salary," Fritz laughed, but he was already pulling out his wallet.
"Desperate times call for desperate measures, and this is, at the very least, a fun desperate measure."

"I have twin sisters and two more." He shook his head, "I swear you'd think they'd act the same but if you see their rooms..."
He paused and shook his head as he rang up Fritz, "Yeah, seriously though I know how twins can be."
He frowned a bit when Fritz mentioned putting a dent in his salary, "Welp if you ever need a small bit of extra income, Marxz normally hires summer help." He showed Fritz the total, "That's with the new customer discount." Feliks added.
"Yes, at leas this is a fun desperate Measure, could be a lot worse. That wasn't the most expensive board." He said almost cringing to admit it. He'd had his eye on one of the more expensive boards.
