In a building otherwise ravaged by time, this stairwell seems to have held up remarkably well. The concrete steps spiral ever upward, illuminated by a wall of windows that would afford a spectacular view of the forest if not for the dist that coated them. Strangely enough, though the building definitely has a finite height, one will never find the top of the stairs; they simply spiral ever upward, though the windows end with the top floor and no doors above that will open, regardless of what is done to them.
Kaito would enter the assigned door into what the proctor called a never ending stairwell. The young Hyuuga knew the requirement for this portion of the exam; extravagant jutsu combinations or a quick KO. While Kaito wasn't much of showman, he would try his best to put on a good show.
Extending his arms behind him, he would gather wind infused chakra in his palms and after a few seconds release it in a burst. His goal was to climb the staircase as high as he could with the "Assasins Rush" technique and have the upper hand against his opponent when she showed up. He would sprint up the staircase at a speed that the naked eye couldn't track, making the appropriate adjustments when needing to turn a corner.
After climbing a half-mile worth of stairs, which took him just a few seconds, Kaito would come to a stop. Exhaling deeply the young shinobi would take a second to catch his breath before forming a handseal. In a matter of seconds, the staircase battle arena would become enveloped by a thick mist. Reducing the visibility was the goal after having a head start. As the mist descended toward the starting point, Kaito would form one more handseal. The gathered chakra was directed to his eyes to activate his Byakugan. With this seeing through the thick mist would not be a problem.
His final course of action would be to throw four senbon with bells attached to them to different parts of the stairwell. Two would be thrown to the opposite side walls on level with where he was standing, one at each wall. Two more would be thrown a couple levels down at the wall closets to the stairs of that level. These would be used for later techniques While the opponents trekked up the stairwell. With the preparations ready, Kaito would wait for his opponent to enter the arena.
Yuugao (Moon Flower) Yuugao would enter the trough the door to the stair case. The very idea of what type of complex jutsu or seal it would of taken to create an infinite staircase puzzled her, but as soon as the door would open Yuu would be meet with a sudden thick mist which shortened her clear visibility. Simply by looking she could tell from the blue hue of the mist that this wasn't natural. The color blind nature of the Kinmukugan filtered down Yuu's sense of color to simply blue for personal chakra born of living things with a conscious mind, and natural chakra the energy of nature such as rocks, tree, water, etc unbound by any human influence. Her doujutsu saw trough the nature of this mist simply at first glance and though the mist did shorten her vision she could still make out the out lining green of what was natural trough it. The mist wasn't solid so she could do at least this much, yet for good measure Yuu would have her partner smelling the air and listening for movement. “Asagao, sentry.”, gesturing with her hand before entering the mist and making a few motions with her feet Yuu would general dictate some short hand commands for Asagao as she knew that this fight was going to be a play at her ability to adapt.
Now finally in the room Yuu would have the door close behind her and would feel around to see that she was at the very bottom of the stairs and her opponent who was obviously here wasn't down here with her. Also from what her eyes could foggily make out as her vision bent around the angle of the staircase Yuu couldn't see him anywhere in the immediate area.Lovely a hunt... The unamused thought would pass trough Yuu head as she'd press on wards walking up the stairs carefully walking along the banister as Asagao would use the tree climbing technique to make his way up along the wall reaching a hand out to Asagao, Yuu would whistle to him to call his attention before forming a few hand signs to perform a jutsu. Beast-man Clone., Asagao would transform into a composite clone of Yuugao as she'd pass him several of her kuani.“common lets continue, and be ready.”
Yuu would continue on up the stair well tirelessly searching for the sounds or blurry sight of anything up ahead as her vision curved about the angles she herself wasn't able to reach. Her partner picking up in his skills as well as he'd press onwards searching for their opponent as well. They'd be 50 feet shy of a half mile before Asagao seemed to pick up a scent. His sense of smell wasn't so sharp as a dog, but he could smell fairly well enough to notice something or rather someone different in a area. Tapping his feet on the wall the sound would echo lightly trough the room. Yuu would draw in a long breath and draw her twin sickle short knives. Asagao would hold a kunai in one hand as her still wore Yuu's face. Yuugao was ready for what might come as she'd press on. She'd been tempted to try locking onto the drift of chakra the mist had left about but she wasn't too sure on how well it would help her with it so loosely spread.

The training helps the Shinobi learn how to focus just the right amount of Chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise. The feet are regarded as the hardest location to master Chakra focusing. Kaito was a very patient shinobi. He knew that without patience grave errors could be made that could, in the wrong situation, cost him his life. With this in mind, waiting for his opponent wouldn't be a problem, although it was definitely boring. He would not hear his opponent enter the door, so she and her companion would be undetectable up until Yuu whistled to her partner. Due to the enclosed area they were fighting in, the sound of her whistle would bounce back and forth off of the walls and eventually reach Kaito's ears. While he did not know where she was, the young Hyuuga knew that his opponent had arrived.
Knowing that she would reach him sooner rather than later, Kaito would walk silently to each of the walls where the bells were attached and flick them causing them to ring. Forming a handseal, the sound of the bells would become the trigger to his sounds based genjutsu. The frequency released by the bells would trigger head pain that would increase with each passing minute and would eventually lead to unconsciousness if not stopped. With the stairwell being so narrow, the ringing sound would bounce and echo off of the walls making the task of finding the source of the sound quite difficult.
With his genjutsu in place, Kaito would form another handseal and gather the air around him to form a Kaze Bunshin next to him. While the clone formed, he would change the handseal to perform a supplementary jutsu which would make his clone incredibly deadly in a fight. Once the clone was finished, the real Kaito would signal the clone to travel down the stairs and intercept the enemy. As the clone traveled down, it would unsheathe the sword on its back and strike the other two senbon with bells that were thrown earlier, adding to the distortion of sound. If the clone came into contact with the enemy, it would fight using its sword to try and parry any attack.
By this time, Yuu and her partner would have entered Kaito's extended sight. He would now know that he was up against two opponents, one of which was not truly human. The one he assumed to be the tamer, due to her larger chakra pool and what seemed to be an active doujutsu due to the constant chakra flow to her optical area, would eventually make contact with his clone. The other was making his way up the side of the wall towards Kaito's current location. Entering the "Gentle Fist" stance, the young Hyuuga would wait patiently for the approaching foe waiting to react at a moments notice.
Yuugao (Moon Flower) Asagao was becoming rather familiar with the scent and with a sudden still in the air there would be a following break in the. The sound would start in as a ringing of a bell but in the very next few seconds a loud brain tearing screech would shred trough Yuu's and Asa's ears. Yuu instinctively felt something was off and would form hand seals with one hand and prep another with her other hand. the first would completely in dispersing the air and by vertue so would the sound stop as the air and a fair bit of the mist which permeated it would spread about, but in the very instant Yuu noticed the sound continuing. She was certain this was a genjutsu. Che... It was an annoyance for her but Yuu's time would be placed in trying to keep some focus as she'd jump towards the back wall behind her as she was at the slant of the staircase when this all happened standing on the banister. Her speed playing into how quickly she'd hit the wall as she'd complete her kai release and Asagaon taking a cue from his partner seeing her do so though he was in pain he'd been trained to keep an eye out for Yuu. to protect her by all means possible. Releasing himself. The two would be presented with their for who'd descend trough the returning mist which swept back in after the brief dispersal thanks to Yuu familiarity with the technique. The sound of the bells though still ominously laying above remained and Yuu using her doujutsu was able to make out the more solid mass of the chakra standing before her. This man didn't seem very powerful or fast for that matter.
Yuu would form some quick hand sign as she'd jump about the walls to position herself better in this midst against such an enemy and knowing her partner he could tell there was something still ahead. A puppet master pulling the strings. the two could communicate this simply by taps on the wall and vocal clicking using their tongues and throats. Yet Yuu couldn't quite just run off and chase after this so throwing her knife Which she quickly applied chakra too the swordsman in reply would skillfully knock the blade away and Asagao using his powerful jumping skills would move with haste to catch the blade and more on ahead. Yuu was hesitant to strike out at this man immediately due to her not knowing what she was exactly up against. her own physicality was superior to his for now but that would only last her so long as she'd jump about trying to get a grasp of things. This entire fight seemed to be one big game of cat and mouse and Yuu was on the short end.
Yet that didn't deter her from pressing on. She'd have no rest but Yuu would try to maneuver to follow behind her partner who'd breakout ahead and her kunai's would work to cover his retreat. If her opponent came in the way Yuu had a jutsu prepared for him.
Assuming that Asagao made it further forward he'd hold the kunai and knife in hand and would listen and hear the breathing of the shinobi behind the tricks played so far on his master and himself tossing the knife at the foot of the shinobi he discovered Asa would leap with a tremendous amount of force given his 305lb mass of power despite his transformation. cutting down towards the shinobi's shoulder.

The creation and manipulation of various vantage points allows the Mugen to widen their chakra sight by incredible amounts, granting immense surveillance. The sky rumbled. All active Ninjutsu froze in the air, and then disappeared. Projectiles and weapons would fall to the ground as if the gravity had suddenly tripled, but the effect was temporary and would soon lighten. The reasoning behind this event was soon clear: the judge, a middle-aged man with a thin goatee, stepped out of nowhere and cleared his throat.
"The time limit has been reached," he spoke loudly. "A winner must be decided."
His eyes glazed over for a moment before he delivered the ruling:
"It was a close match, but Mister Kaito will be advancing to the next round."
With this, he disappeared once more. The two Shinobi were free to return to the waiting area for rest, recuperation, a hot meal, and healing if they needed it.
