Personality On the surface, Brighid is all about survival. She is very instinctive, and typically acts in an almost animalistic manner when meeting new people; balanced between fight or flight and always prepared to tear herself an escape route, quite literally with tooth and nail. She was captured by the people of Makai and Midgaurd once before, and it has made her very wary of them. While she won't attack someone unless she herself feels threatened, if she feels that she has been threatened she won't show any mercy. It is not unheard of for her to eat the heart of her enemy if it was a particurally difficult fight. As a spiritus she is almost always hungry for mana; but she usually avoids taking more than what she needs.

Beyond that, though, she feels lost and out of place. She knows next to nothing about the light realm, and now that she has no one to follow she really doesn't know what to do with herself. She's sick of the dark, but scared of the light. She longs for a purpose now that her previous calling is void, but the world she finds herself in is full of the mortals she feels she cannot trust.

History

Brighid was once a member of King Olaf's army, though her exit from the Shadow Rift was delayed. She looked forward to besting her rival, Ornen, in the conquest of the light realm; and joining up with their mutual friend Ratatoskr. On her way meeting up with them as a reinforcement, however, she was ambushed by a company of witches and alchemists alike. Though she was able to hold her own for a short while, eventually a group working in-sync trapped her in a living prison of wood, a tree that was given enough magic to heal itself rapidly for an indefinite amount of time; aided by a secondary web of spells that drasitically slowed time for it and the spiritus trapped inside in effort to delay her as long as possible.

Years went by, even for her; and eventually she forgot the reason why her days were filled with nothing but fatigue and darkness and labor, dividied between hacking away at the wood that held her and spells of unconciousness. Just recently she broke free, but because the time for the world around her had been, from her perspective, accelerated, she knows nothing of the world around her and with nothing left, has taken to wandering.
