The Lieutenant was sitting atop a lamp post, one of the ones that held the lamp out on an arm. He was sitting on that arm, looking down at the street below, kicking his feet. He was glad to find his powers made him awesome at all things athletic. It was amazing for him, really.
He could climb poles and jump on s**t, and off s**t, that he had never dreamed of. Man, if only he could do this while he was powered down, like the stats remained with him.
He would definitely take the police force by storm, if he could do that.
Still this would help him out to get him trained and more confident in his movements, even if he couldn't do the super hero stuff in his day to day. He was still learning all the rules ,as far as that went. He was hoping someone on his side would come along, so he could learn a bit more about all of this.
He wanted to train, he wanted to get better. Also, one of the Captains had told him he needed to pick a group to work for... within this Nega group. So he'd have to do that, too.

Knuckles rapped on the lamp poll, standing at the base of it was a new and vast source of power, which was also looking up at you with pale blue eyes.
“Am I interrupting Lieutenant?” the tone was amused as he tilted his head amused. “Are you lost or, amusing yourself?” He stepped back a few paces and gave an easy motion, jumping up to balance beside you, a small wobble and he crouched to center himself as he looked around.
“Not bad, but I prefer a slightly higher vantage point when I’m trying to think things through. “What are you up to tonight lieutenant.”

He very nearly fell off the lamp pole when he felt the power signature appear, and when he looked down to see Zinkenite standing beneath him he did lose his balance and he fell off completely. He landed not too far away, flat on his back.
He looked up to see Zink standing on the lamp post now, though he had fallen off before the General King had gotten up there. He blinked, baffled.
This power level was pretty intense, more so than the other ones he'd felt so far. He got to his feet and scrambled back up the pole, hauling himself awkward around the General King to get to his seat again.
"I was... uhm... I was trying to see if there were any superior officers out... uh... sir." He said feebly.

“Nasty fall, sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you.” He offered a hand as you approached the top of it. “Don’t you know anyone?” He arched an eyebrow, he made a note to find out who recruited the young man and speak to them…privately. “Zinkenite” he supplied. “General-King Zinkenite” He didn’t say the title to be flashy, it was a fact, landing between them like a small stone. “And you are Merlinite” He nodded slightly. “Well, you found a superior officer, or he found you, the result is the same. What are you in need of Lieutenant?”

Merlinite shook his head, blinking. This guy was one of the big bosses, he knew that much. And he knew his name! That was a good sign, right? Or was that just their job, to know everyone in the Negaverse?
No, Merlinite chose to believe that he was known because he was important, and he was worth keeping an eye on.
"General-King," he said respectfully, bowing his head a bit and trying his bet to be appropriate in the company of his higher up. It was just like his bosses at work, whether he liked them or not. He was always on his toes around them. Now he just needed to learn more about this General-King, and do his best to be a good soldier.
It would make his life much easier, in the long run, to get in good at the ground floor.
"I was wondering, sir, about these teams that we're supposed to join up with. I don't know much about them and I haven't picked mine yet."

“Well, I can summarize, then you can inquire about the branches that interest you the most, how does that sound?” He nodded and then looked thoughtful. “Spec Ops, our heaviest, and best hitters as it were, good fighters, trained hard to become great fighters, if you are interested in direct combat this would absolutely be a good fit for you. Infiltration Division is what it sounds like; though imagine that your civilian life is now at least as important as the time you spend in uniform. You are infiltrating the city itself to keep your fellow officers safe and other ventures. Finally there is my own, we gather information on…well, everyone. Senshi, Dark Mirror, Knights, even our own officers to share with the first two divisions. It helps us identify strengths and weaknesses.”

Merlinite nodded his head and watched with keen interest, not minding that they were having this little meeting on the top of a lamp post. No one could see them, though he was sure basically everything that could feel power energies could feel Zinkenite's right now. It was so overwhelming for Merlinite, who was still learning how to figure things out.
He had thought his ability to feel auras was dumbed down or bad in some way, not as good as others who explained it to him seemed to think it should be, but at the moment he was having no trouble with it.
Listening, he took mental notes. Spec Ops were fighters. Infiltration pretended they were normal. Information studied the enemy. And this guy was the boss of it. Merlinite's brain clicked into gear and he looked up at him.
"Information seems interesting to me," he said, with a smile, "Sir. And I'd be honored to work with you, and help you if I can."

A small laugh escaped the man, a sharp sound but not unpleasant, “I have no objection to other people joining my team.” He said sounding pleased. “I just hope you aren’t adverse to paperwork as so many seem to be. I promise, as tedious as it is it can be absolutely vital.” He glanced upward at the sky, savoring the cool night breeze before glancing back at the lieutenant beside him. “Would you like to see what I have set up currently?” He inquired with an amused expression. “I’m afraid I wouldn’t want to try and explain my…personal short hand, but I can introduce you to the basics of your duties, show you what you should look for. He offered a hand to you, waiting to be accepted.

The Lieutenant beamed at the answer, nodding his head.
"Paperwork? Nah, don't even worry about it. I'm a paper pusher in my day job, so if there's one thing I know, it's paperwork." Being a secretary at the police station certainly had its benefits. Once. Tonight. But hey, that was enough to give him a new sense of purpose there.
And anyway, he would always do what he had to do, to climb up the ladder. Even the grunt work, and the worst of the worse. He was determined, at least, and once he was set in something he was loyal to that goal. Because Zinkenite was the highest superior he could have, Merlinite would be a dutiful servant.
"That would be amazing, thank you sir!" Merlinite almost bounced up and down, except they were both still on the lamp post and he doubted he would be able to brush off another embarrassing fall. Instead, he took Zink's hand with a firm and eager grip.

“REALLY now, a man who doesn’t mind paperwork, I should ask what your day job is and if you have anyone else you’d like to recommend as officers.” He was only –half- kidding.
“In the mean time… come with me, I’ll show you around.”
