"Don't you get tired of sitting in the same chair with the same view day in and day out?" Maia asked boldly as she stood in the middle of the parlor with her hands on her hips. Cyrus had left earlier in the morning to find Elora the perfect material to finish the quilt she was making and she had opted to stay behind with the much friendlier companion. Cyrus was just not a barrel of fun when you got right down to it. He reminded her a lot of her father, actually.

Elora smirked a little.
"Of course I do. I hate it." She replied. "But what else can I do except ask Cyrus to move me to another chair?"

Maia twisted her lips a little and studied her a moment.
"Well, remember my first day here? I said I would gladly try to figure out a way to help you. With the big guy gone, I could do it now?" she suggested. Cyrus had taken to giving her dirty looks if she spent too much time with Elora. It was kind of sweet how protective he was. Unnecessary in her case, but sweet.

Elora raised an eyebrow.
"You want to help me? But how?" She asked softly "Have you figured out a way?"

"Well, when we were out foraging, I found a big can of oil. It took a bit of convincing to get him to speak to me, but Cyrus told me about how he thought you needed oil on your insides, but he couldn't figure out how to get it in. So, I was thinking all I had to do was figure out a way to get it in. I remembered that scar on your leg when I was helping you get dressed the other day. I could reopen it since it's already damaged there and see if the oil will even work. If it does, then.... I might have an idea, but it will take some planning."

Elora breathed in deeply and nodded.
"Okay." She said softly. "Okay, I really want to try. I will let you open that wound up and we can work from there. I am willing to do almost anything to be able to move again."

Maia smiled warmly and nodded.
"The best thing we can do is try," she declared. "Wait there. I'll get the oil and some tools." With that, she turned on her heel and went to dig through her things. Carrying them over, she dropped to her knees at Elora's feet and gave her another warm smile. "You'll tell me if I'm hurting you, right? I don't want to hurt you."

Elora laughed.
"You're going to hurt me, but it's okay. I can handle it. I think if it works any pain will be worth it." She lifted her gown aside so that Maia could get to the old wound.

Maia smiled at her reassurance and studied the old wound for a moment. Picking up her knife, she very, very carefully cut the stitches that were holding the material of her skin together. Lifting her brows when the material parted and nothing came out, she looked up to Elora and gave her a smile.
"Still doing okay?" she asked, turning back to her task and carefully parting the material to peer inside. What she saw was simply astounding. She had never seen anything so complex and amazing in all of her life. Who ever had made her had been pure and absolute genius. "I'm going to put some oil here on these gears and we'll see if it loosens them up," she said, turning to pick up the oil can.

Elora winced a little, it did not hurt too bad as the membrane that was her skin had already been cut, but there was an ache there as Maia peered inside.
"Okay." She replied, waiting for her to do it. "Does anything look damaged?"

Maia glanced up at her and shook her head.
"As far as I can tell, it's not. Everything seems to be fitting very nicely together. Your gears just look a bit tarnished," she replied and very carefully began to pour oil onto the exposed gears. Letting it soak in a moment, she carefully took Eloras foot in her hands and began to slowly lift her leg up. "Tell me if it's too much."

Elora felt the liquid as it went into her leg, it was a funny feeling, though a good one. As Maia moved her foot she breathed in sharply, it was painful, though the gears would need to move to get coated in oil. "Keep moving it, the oil needs to be soaked through."

Maia gave her a sympathetic smile and nodded.
"You know, if this really helps, I saw this thing on my travels. A doctor was putting blood into another person by a tube and needle. I wonder if we could do something similar so we don't have to cut you up," she mused as she very carefully moved the leg up and down. She could feel it getting easier with each pass. Pausing, she put a little more oil in and lifted her leg again.

Elora could feel it getting better too. Her leg moved with more ease and felt looser.
"Let me see if I can move it myself." She said, smiling at Maia. "and I think that would be worth a try."

Maia smiled and lifted her hands away.
"I was hoping you would say that. I found the tools for it the other day. It's what made me think of it. I mean, it stands to reason that oil would be like your blood with a body like this one," she smiled.
