Name: Bazzite
Nickname: Few people know him by any other name though "Bazzi" is always welcomed. Only Benitoite is allowed to call him by his once-human name of Johnathan.
Age: He doesn't remember.
Birthday: April 11th (the date of his "upgrade")
Sign: Aries
Gemstone: Pearl
Blood Type: Tar
Fav. Food: Starseeds (or "crunchies" as Bazzi likes to call them) and energy - the only things his body is able to process.
Hated Food: Everything else, sadly. Sometimes Bazzite misses "real" food but more often than not, the pain and disappointment of trying to eat anything other than energy or starseeds keeps him from trying too often.
School: None
Hobbies:
Exploration - Being that the Rift is Bazzite's new home and he cannot venture far from it for extended periods of time, he's taken to exploring it as much as possible. Now that he is one of the Youma, Bazzite can really come and go as he pleases - most Youma either consider him an ally or leave him alone. The few he gets into fights with are usually feral and don't know any better. Exploring is how Bazzite usually passes the time, especially since a concept like "time" is so foreign in the Rift and he's still wrapping his mind around the fact that there are no clocks and no sun by which to tell time. Youma don't plan their day around a schedule anyway. Bazzite found his grotto deep in the Rift and has taken to calling it his "special place" where he eats, sleeps and keeps his collection of trickets.
Rift Guide - Nearing the end of his Captaincy, Bazzite realized just how important youma were to Negaverse officers. He'd met several youma partners to officers before his "promotion" and wants to extend the favor to other Captains and Generals. Bazzite loves to accompany Negaverse officers into the Rift, hoping to help them out somehow in their search for their destined partner somewhere in the darkness. If the officer doesn't want a youma's help in finding other youma, Bazzite would be happy to simply guide them around the Rift itself. Being that he lives there, who better to act as your companion?
Collecting Trinkets - These are items that keep Bazzite's mind off of the recent (and massive) change in his life. The youma collects anything from jewelry he finds while topside to CDs he can't play, radios that won't necessarily work, baubles, gizmos and gadgets of all shapes and sizes. Watches, handheld game systems, books, perfume bottles, boxes, dolls, you name it. If a lieutenant or the like dies down in the Rift, you can bet your britches Bazzite will be on the body looking for interesting items. These keep his mind occupied even if Bazzite can't use them at all. Items like these line his grotto like decor in a college kid's dorm room. It's a menial task that is a blessing with everything else Bazzite has to deal with.
Virtues:
Driven - More so than ever before, Bazzite is focused and determined to complete the goals he sets for himself or those that are set for him by his commanding officers. A goal keeps him occupied and his commanders (especially Benitoite) happy and in turn, this makes Bazzite happy. It's a simple circle. The more efficient he becomes in completing his tasks, the better partner he is to his General. Being that his mind is so much clearer in youma form (he doesn't have silly mannerisms that simply served as a psychological cover-up for deeper issues), Bazzite has a noticeably easier time keeping focused on the task at hand without being distracted by peripheral things like ninja movies or Jolly Burger.
Friendly - A leftover from his previous human life, Bazzite is generally a very friendly guy youma. He'll greet you with a smile and a friendly nod even if he doesn't know you. There are exceptions, of course (hi, Order peeps!), but by and large he's relatively open to conversation at the drop of a hat. If you're in need of some assistance (and you don't want to/can't order his cooperation) or just want to shoot the breeze, Bazzi is more than happy to oblige. While he can't provide too much in terms of information, he can and would be thrilled to provide training, advice and guidance to those lower ranks in the Negaverse and a safe place to hang out in the Rift if you're really up for that sort of thing.
Honest - Even as a human, Bazzite hated lies, liars and the act of deception and would therefore never tell a lie. As a youma, the same still applies and Bazzite would not lie or deceive anyone unless ordered to do so, even if the truth was horrific and possibly soul-crushing. It's better to know than to assume or be left in the dark. While he doesn't view it as cruel anymore (being that youma don't really have a moral compass for judging things like cruelty anyway), he still finds it inefficient and unnecessary. Get the info out of the way and open communication leads to less disaster down the line.
Flaws:
Sensitive - Bazzite doesn't like to be spoken ill of and he will let you know. He's acutely aware that he doesn't look like he used to and is therefore very self-conscious about it and knows he wasn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed in the eyes of the Negaverse. He doesn't like to be put down, made fun of, disrespected or even regarded with one of those ill-meaning sideways glances. If Bazzite does perceive you or your actions as demeaning to him, he will do whatever it takes to make himself feel better. This means flying into a rage, attacking you in some fashion, hissing at you enough to make you pee your pants... Generally he gets very defensive, very unhappy and very volatile.
Possessive - He thinks of his General as the only lifeline he has back to "the surface"; Benitoite dictates when his youma can come and go from the Rift and acts as a liaison to the rest of the world. Therefore, Benitoite is his and no one else's. If Bazzite feels threatened by someone else's presence or behavior around his General, actions will be taken and they will likely be animalistic and violent. This includes possible love interests or close friends. This possessive behavior extends to others Bazzite likes, it's just slightly less extreme.
His collection of trinkets is also incredibly important to Bazzite and if he finds any items in his collection missing, he will hunt down the perpetrator and turn them into a delicious snack. Bazzite will not trade you his items. No, you cannot give them to your girlfriend as a gift. Buzz off.
Amoral - Youma have no morals and therefore Bazzite would not think twice about devouring a chibi, attacking someone who clearly cannot defend themselves, breaking into a home and eating a child, that sort of thing. Stealing, destruction of property, not walking a grandmother across the street and then stealing your car (not that he could fit in it but whatever). All forms of petty and felonious crimes are well within reason because, when you're a youma, those rules don't apply, yo. He has no sympathy, no empathy, no sentimentality, no compassion. If tearing your arm off is the last step to completing his latest set of orders, you can kiss your arm goodbye. They also make great toothpicks.
