It might have been childish but Orpheus had powered up for one reason. It was different than his usual reasons, and instead of stalking and protecting someone like the creeper he was this time he was simply sitting in the dark as he waited. He wasn't waiting for just any reason though, and as his pointed shoes kicked the dirt below his feet he looked left and right his mental state surveyed the area. He knew if he waited, eventually someone would find him. He didn't need to do any work other than the calculative decision that came up with this idea.
He was a genius.
In fact, his genius was proving successful. He could feel it, there was an aura getting closer. Normally this would be when he'd power down and pretend he didn't exist but this time he wanted to be found, this time things were different.

Aventine had felt enough Chaos signatures in her time that she bore no shame or fear when it came to approaching one—especially one weaker than her. Certainly she knew that power level wasn't everything, but it didn't stop her from feeling cocky about it, anyway. It was a Dark Mirror Senshi—which was particularly important to her at this moment in time.
She imagined Aurora, maybe Virtus, since those were the two she liked—and wanted to run into. She needed answers and would have rather avoided the other two Dark Mirror girls. The Squire wandered closer to the aura, and she knew she was close.
…She just couldn’t see whoever she felt.
With an annoyed huff, she put her hand on her hip and scanned the area, to stubborn to think something might be amiss. "Hello…?"

Hello? Everyone was awfully polite to give away their exact location. It almost made Sailor Orpheus laugh at simply how naive everyone was. The world was not a safe place and to stand there greeting it only made him wonder how someone had even survived in this world. Even without the war of the terrorists, the world was not a friendly place. If some stranger did get you, those you trusted most would. There was no such thing as a safe place.
Silence.
He crept, and then made his attack. If he was going to suffer this fate, he would take it out on someone else. That's how the world worked right? Someone hurt you and then you continue the cycle by hurting someone else.

If only the world was an ideal a place as Aventine wanted. She felt something hit her back before she had any idea that a senshi was behind her, and she fell forward almost immediately. The surprise gave her little time to react, and she landed on her hands and knees. Thankfully the blow had knocked her foreword, on the soft grass, instead of the cement she'd been so close to; if this creep had skinned her knees, she was going to skin them—alive.
She jerked her head over her shoulder to see just who was attacking her, and for a brief moment, she had no idea what to do. This was no Dark Mirror Senshi she recognized, and while she should have been glad it wasn't Aurora or Virtus turning on her, it was still another one attacking her.
"Excuse me!" she blurted, forcing herself up; she wanted to brush the dirt and grass off of her, but anger and embarrassment was already pumping adrenaline through her veins. She could freshen up later—after she messed this guy up. "That was rude—what the hell's your problem!?" she snarled, aiming a crude kick at the male's side.

"Excuse you indeed," he laughed, crossing his arms as he tilted his weight from left to right.
"Your ugly face is my problem. Skanks like you should just stay on their knees so I don't have to see it," he snarled. Damn was he ever picking a fight.

Her face reddened—though this time from anger. "Excuse me, how dare you?" Her breath caught in her throat, forcing her to take a second to calm down. It was short lived. "My face is ******** fabulous, thank you. You rude little…"
Her voice trailed off; kicking wasn't working, and it was unbecoming of a lady to spew the expletives she had in mind. Aventine kept her words to herself, far more inclined to let her fists do the speaking. Or thereabout.
She charged forward, irritated at how easily the male had dodged before. She wasn't going to let him get away scott-free after saying such terrible things.
If she'd had any faith that the Dark Mirror Court wasn't that bad, this guy had definitely crushed them.

He might have enjoyed the fact he'd angered the little kitten if she hadn't just hit him. He should have expected something after what he said but his train of thought had been something similiar to: What can a hoe do? The answer to that was 'Nothing' or had been prior to her attacking him. He should have known better but now he was wiping away a smudge of blood from where she'd nailed him right in the face. His beautiful face. It was much more pleasant than hers.
"You b***h," he growled, throwing a kick toward her gut. "Stay on the ground already, that's where you belong."
The senshi of charm was not being very charming but wasn't that the ironic part?

The kick had done its job; she grunted as the breath was pushed from her. Rugby had prepared her for elbows and shoulders, but those were more often than not angled differently—accidents. Not someone deliberately trying to hurt her. The only comfort she could take from the kick was that she had instinctively jerked her body to receive it, and by the time his foot connected with her, her hands were hovering just around his ankle.
Glowering, she grabbed onto the appendage while it was still within reach. "Too bad your brain isn't as big as your mouth!" she snapped before jerking Orpheus' leg, trying to trip him up or knock him down.

Aventine and Orpheus weren't the only ones out and about tonight, and their battle had not gone unnoticed. Hypnos might not have been the best backup someone could ask for but she couldn't just ignore the Chaos signature when she felt it. There was a chance she could help someone if she went, so while she didn't know what the power signal was exactly she instinctively shuttled herself toward them. There was only so fast someone in bunny slippers could scurry though, so no one was helping Aventine quite yet.
For now, Aventine would be alone with Orpheus' glorious legs. And how glorious they were. Other than his studies and hating his life, Orpheus had one hobby: Kickboxing. Anytime he had that was free, he hit the gym and sparred. This didn't necessarily mean he was stronger, but it did give him a prepared edge when she grabbed his ankle. He was used to it, and with a cocky sort of grin he simply stood there unwavering as he held his leg firmly there. He couldn't pull it away but neither did he sway under her pressure. His experience kickboxing helped, but so did his honor's role physics knowledge.
"You were saying?" He said, a shining smile directed right at her. It might have been charming in another situation but right now it probably just made her want to punch him in the face.
And like the scurrying bunny she was, Hypnos finally made her very non-threatening appearance! She may have seemed small to most of the participants of this shadows war but she moved with an undeniable grace and a heart of rose gold. If she had been anyone else, she might have immediately sided with whoever had an order signature but upon judging the situation with her own eyes she came to the conclusion that Aventine was picking on Orpheus. Not simply because she only made it in time to see Aventine holding Orpheus' leg but not him attacking her but also because she had met Orpheus before and he'd saved her life from Zippeite.
Just like the idiom the 'gloves are off', Hypnos' slippers quickly met her hands. They were perfectly harmless but she could use them to help Orpheus! With all her might, she threw them at Aventine and hoped on her mighty asteroid in the sky that they'd help.
"Don't hurt him!" She cried out.

The presence of another order signature should have been encouraging, but instead Aventine just looked perplexed as a slipper smacked her in the face. She remained rigid, still clinging to Orpheus' ankle when the slipper hit the ground in front of her.
"Uhm. Uhm, excuse me?" she demanded, more flustered than angry that this little girl had attacked her. "—Are you serious?" She didn't wait for Hypnos to answer; instead she jerked her attention back to Orpheus and tugged on his leg again; if she couldn’t knock him off his feet, she was determined to at least make him as uncomfortable as possible. Glowering into his eyes, she demanded, "What did you do to her?"
Because—what normal little girl was going to take some chaos senshi's side? Especially after he'd started this whole thing; Aventine couldn't help but be flustered at the situation. She was so convinced she was in the right, so to be attacked (albeit however harmlessly) by a child—to be made to feel like she was in the wrong…
What the hell was the world coming to? And how depraved was the Dark Mirror Court that they were trying to deceive children like this?"

The slipper smacked her in the face and Orpheus' immediate response was to laugh, and followed by hissing sound of pain after Aventine pulled on his leg. It caused him to wobble a bit, but not enough to fall off balance. He looked to find the the source of the attack against the squire and found himself sighing when he spotted Hypnos. She was waving to him when she noticed he seen her, and then squirming slightly at Aventine.
"I'm sorry," she murmured. "Are you hurt?"
It was ironic but she had only wanted to stop her, not hurt her.
Next to Aventine though, Orpheus' attention turned back to the older woman when she accused him of doing something to her.
"I did absolutely nothing to her," he teased, enjoying the mystery. "Why would you ever think that?"
He hoped the talking would distract her long, and then finally he attempted to pull his leg away in one swift movement.

The laughter her a bit more than it should, and Aventine shot an angry glare at the Dark Mirror Senshi. She didn't just release his leg, she practically flung it towards the ground. "I'm hurt!" Aventine replied, more angry than actually hurt.
"And don't—don't you play innocent," she said, finger wagging at Orpheus as though such a gesture would say what words she couldn’t in the presence of such a small child. "I know you're up to something you rude, uncultured, nasty little b*****d," she hissed, voice as low as possible so she wasn't traumatizing some little girl. "You don't just go around treating a lady like s**t and then having some little girl come around and stick up for you, so you're obviously up to no good, so you tell me what you've been doing so I can fix your mistakes before she," she pointed an angry finger at Hypnos, "Winds up in the same state you oughta be in!"
Which for him was, preferably, in the hospital—or jail.

When Aventine said she was hurt Hypnos' face dropped completely. She looked to Orpheus, back to Aventine and then her face fell into an expression that looked like a puppy that had just been kicked in the face. She didn't want to hurt Aventine, and the thought of slippers probably not being capable of harm slipped right out of her mind.
"I am so sorry!" She cried out, almost ready to give up there completely. She might have but something pulled at her will to resist that plea. She knew she couldn't just give up now, and she couldn't until this fight was over. If she didn't stop, then Orpheus might get hurt too! There was still hope! She could still prevent someone from getting hurt! She wasn't the fastest thinker though, so she stood there like a deer in the headlights of a car while she considered the best way to do this.
Fortunately for Hypnos' concentration, Aventine was whispering all her accusations of Orpheus. Orpheus though? He didn't whisper quite as much.
"You're a lady? You could have fooled me. I thought I was just fighting some man who hit like a girl," he said in a normal voice, not opting to lower it like she had. Hypnos may have been a child and didn't deserve to have some brat beat her up but a few words surely couldn't be the worst of things that had happened to her after what he'd prevented from happening.
Blue eyes snapped back to Aventine when a finger was pointed at her, and quickly the chibi senshi found herself pulled out of her thoughts. She knew what to do! Long legs scurried over to the pair, causing Orpheus to draw his attention momentarily from Aventine back to Hypnos. Once there, her little fists threw up into the air and spread sleep dust all around them.
"Please, lay down your arms!"
Orpheus' arms were down but the groggy sensation from the sleep dust caused him to fall off balance.

Aventine was in a very similar boat as Orpheus when the sleepiness washed over her; she seemed a bit overwhelmed by the drowsiness and would have lost her footing had she not been so used to late night trips from her bedroom. She took on an awkward posture just to keep her footing, though it was a struggle to adjust her vision just to keep her eyes open.
"I'm gonna kick your a**, pretty boy," she grumbled, though she was anything but prepared to give this guy a beating. The round was looking unnecessarily comfortable and she wondered if she could get away with a quick nap. Vaguely aware of the little girl near to them, her head rolled to face her.
"…Did you do this?" she asked, perplexed and tired and man, that was a cute little outfit; was there anywhere selling that in her size…?
"…Kinda…not sure what, ah, what yer doin', y'know," she mumbled, too groggy to want to put in the effort of speaking coherently. "Shouldn't you be on my side? …I don't wanna fight, but he," she jeered a lazy finger at Orpheus, "He started it. He called me ugly. And other bad names, too."

Struggling to keep himself on his feet, Orpheus found a goofy tired-induced smile slip across his face.
"I'm pleased you think I'm pretty but I'm afraid I don't ******** whores," he said with a chuckle, having indeed gone there. It didn't seem to matter that Hypnos was nearby because frankly he only tolerated her existence because it was simply wrong to hit children... and if she was going to go off nearly getting herself killed then words like these wouldn't hurt her and probably weren't the first she'd heard.
Hypnos was a bit drawn back by his sudden words but it had not been the first time she'd heard them. She was twelve, and the world was not the same place it was. The boys in her class used words like this and then some but she still didn't approve. She seemed to shake her head at it, but Aventine might have taken it as an answer to her question had she'd been paying attention. Following it was an answer that might have been confusing if she had though.
"I did," she admitted, rather proudly of the fact, as she considered what Aventine had said. It was a bit and Hypnos' expression went from compassion to disappointment. In the meanwhile, Orpheus seemed to laugh at her but she did not falter. She adjusted her position and leaned in toward Aventine.
"A lady never tattles," she said softly in regard to her excuses.
With that the dam broke and Orpheus laughed even harder. Tears began streaming down his face at this point, washing a good portion of the sleep dust out of his eyes. In a normal situation this would allow him to regain composition but instead he looked like he was going to roll over onto the ground from laughing.
"That's right, you tell her! She's no lady, she's just a whore!" He yelled out probably louder than Aventine might have preferred. It was definitely louder than Hypnos preferred.
Hypnos' look of disappointment seemed to grow.
"Where'd the nice man who helped me go?" She questioned. "You shouldn't say such hurtful things!"
It was at this point he stopped laughing.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," he said as apologetically as he could muster in contempt. "Turn around."
And she did, and that's when Orpheus attacked Aventine again.
