The day was warm and the skies were clear--which meant it was the perfect opportunity for Evangeline to take her Dragonite out for some flying practice. It was more for contest training than battle training. She hoped that one of these days, her and her Pokemon could enter one. But not without some practice first. She and the large black dragon had taken to a spot on one of the routes just outside of a city or town. An area with lots of room for the creature to move around, land, and take off. Now if only he could get the hang of it.

"Let's try again, yeah?" the girl said with a light sigh. It was the third or fourth time she'd gotten him to attempt the move she planned out with little success. "You need to twist your body a little more to the left, and then it's a sudden jerk to the right. Got it?" she asked, patting the dragon on the snout. Toothless gave a nod in response and huffed a bit of hot breath on Evangeline's face. Disgusting, and smelt of fish. Sensing her distaste, the black dragon gave an attempted grin and showed off that not-so-toothless mouth. "Jerk," she quietly laughed.

Satisfied with the response, Toothless crouched down in preparation for take-off. With a wriggle of his hind quarters, he leaped up, instantly flapping his powerful wings to soar himself high into the sky. The Pokemon did a few turns as he had the other few practice rounds, and when it came time to do the move he'd failed several times, it was once again unsuccessful. The Dragonite lost his balance and his wings stopped beating, causing him to go for a nosedive right towards the ground.

To Ev's misfortune, she'd been in the path of the falling dragon. But, with some luck, she managed to scramble back far enough to not get crushed and only get hit with the tip of her creature's nose. She tripped and fell herself, landing on her butt. The pink-and-black haired girl gave a loud groan and tugged her hood further over her head out of embarrassment although there was no one, hopefully, around to see.

"You're going to hurt yourself if you keep doing that," she mumbled, slowly peering up at the black heap. He whined. "Don't give me that face. Stop crash landing and it won't be so bad."

Of course, today had been a weekend, so the afternoon crowd to the entertainment center was rather large, and the daily goal had already been reached before two-thirty. Still, though, the muscular man was rather exhausted, and he was ready for a nice, long nap face down on his couch. That, aside from eating (and dancing of course), was Emil's favourite hobby. Reaching up to lace his fingers behind his head, the dancer smiled when he heard a little yawn from behind him, glancing over his shoulder to find the smaller female of his two black eevees, Charna, blinking sleepily in the afternoon sun. Her brother, Tamas, nudged her gently on the shoulder as if to encourage her to keep going, though he let out a defensive yip and stopped walking quite suddenly, throwing his trainer off guard.

"Tamas? What's goin' on?" Following the large eevee's gaze up to the sky, the dancer held his hand up to block the bright sun, spotting a very large entity swirling into the sky-- And then immediately taking a nose dive right back down. The sight was followed by a rather heavy thud, making Emil flinch slightly. "...That... Didn't sound too good. C'mon, kiddos. Let's go check it out." Headed off the path back to his little shack of a house, the trainer made his way out into the woods a bit, knowing that the area wasn't too far from a local park, so it could very well be a pokemon. He really didn't know just how right he was, until he came upon the scene of an unnaturally dark dragonite, and presumably its trainer sitting on the ground of a clearing.

"So, was that a comet, or was that your dragonite..?" Scratching the back of his head, he moved over to approach the trainer, Charna and Tamas sticking close to his heels. Surprise crossed the dancer's face as he recognized the woman's hair, his face lighting up with excitement of his accurate recognition. "Oi, don't I know you? You're uh... You were from that rest house in the safari zone, right? No way someone else has the same hair around here. What was your name again? E... E...Euhhhh... Haha, can't remember, I guess. Better with faces, not with names." Reaching out a hand to pull the woman up without asking, the trainer grinned ear to ear, crossing his arms with satisfaction. "I'm Emilian, 'case you don't remember. Emil. Your dragonite there looks like he's practicin' some crazy dance moves... Keep steppin' on your toes, do ya?" Turns his gaze to the dragonite, not one to exclude a pokemon from the conversation just because it didn't speak his language.

There was a voice heard not too far off that caused Evangeline to inwardly groan. That must have meant that her Dragonite's miserable crash landing must have been seen, considering the question asked. It never was much fun having someone see something you'd rather keep to yourself. If only the Pokemon wasn't so large and.. abnormally coloured. Maybe then it wouldn't have attracted the attention even with the loud thud her dragon had made due to his seemingly lack of gracefulness.

The pink and black haired girl soon found herself faced with a familiar looking man--just as he'd pointed out that she looked familiar too. Emil. Right. From that safari zone. She recognized the black eevees trotting along behind him. "Evangeline. Or Ev if that's easier to remember," she sighed as she was assisted up to her feet. "Thanks," she added.

By now Toothless had sat up, curiously looking at the trainer that he didn't belong to. Although he couldn't speak the human's language, he certainly did understand it, and snorted in response to Emil's comment. He never got the chance to meet the dancer, so curiosity enticed him to creep forward and sniff. And, being a little too friendly, was prepared to give the man a giant lick in greeting. Fortunately, Ev managed to push herself in front of his snout and basically clung to it, and much to her distaste, got some of his spit on her. "Seriously? I told you we don't lick people when we wanna say hello." With that, the dragon allowed her to drop down and he retreated back a step with a bit of a whine.

"Sorry," the girl apologised with a shake of her head. "He's really just a big, playful baby." That comment earned her a snout nudging her from behind. "In a good way!" she insisted to the dragonite over her shoulder. "We were trying to prepare for a contest. It's not going so well. As much as I love him, Toothless isn't a very fast learner."

A wide grin split over the dancer's face as he watched the dragonite silently converse with his trainer, glad to see that the two shared such a close bond. It reminded him of his wartortle Omega and how much fun the two of them had had together over the course of numerous years. "Toothless, huh? You're pretty friendly. I like that!" Leaning slightly to his side, the man reached out to rub his palm gently against the dragonite's jaw, appreciating his outward friendliness. "But you're preparing for a contest... Hm. Well, I'm not so familiar with contests or whatever, but I do know that you gotta look fancy n' stuff... I guess that's what you're tryin' to do."

Taking a step back to look at the trainer and her dragonite, the dancer placed a hand on his hip before peering back at Charna and Tamas who were rather uninterested in the conversation. "Oi, kiddos." When the two eevees looked up at him, Emilian knelt in front of the brother and sister duo, giving Charna a gentle scratch behind the ears. "Would you two mind helping me explain somethin' real quick?" Turning his gaze back to Ev and Toothless, he continued the previous conversation. "So I know it's important to put a nice spin on moves when you're competing... But you look like you're lacking a little rhythm. Um. Not to say that you're not doing well! But it's like... You can know the lyrics to a song without being able to really sing it, y'know? It doesn't matter if you can hit the notes-- If you're a little off beat, it'll end up being really obvious, right? ... Ah. Here, uh. Let me show you." Reaching into the patched up bag that was slung over his shoulder, Emil pulled out a small hand-drum and re-situate himself on the ground, glad to see that Charna and Tamas were already poised to dance.

Starting up a lively beat, the dancer hummed an old tune from his childhood, watching on with pride as his two unusually dark eevees performed a well-practiced dance with one another, managing to keep in time with Emilian's tempo. The two tumbled and rolled together, Charna using her brother's back as a sort of a spring-board before flipping forward and landing on all fours. While it wasn't flying, it did appear to be graceful when the two of them worked together like that-- Following the rhythm of the dancer's drums.

"Good! Good! That was excellent." Nods as he sets the hand drum down, looking back up at Evangeline and Toothless. "Ah, uh, do you see what I mean? Keep the rhythm of your wings in your mind. You gotta feel it, Toothless. Don't forget about that beat. Try it again, yeah?"

As the two black balls of fur danced in time to the beat of the drum, Evangeline had to admit that she did appreciate the help. Emil did seem to know what he was talking about even if she herself didn't completely understand what he was getting at. Toothless found himself rather lost in intently watching the two siblings hop and leap around. His tail happily brushed across the ground and he grinned his not-so-toothless grin. It was clear that he quite enjoyed their little dance and made a noise of approval when they were finished.

A small smile had touched Ev's own features too when the two Pokemon finished their little routine. "That was pretty great," she remarked to both the eevees and their trainer. If she had to guess, this was probably something they did often. And the muscles on the guy.. she wouldn't be surprised if he was a dancer. Neat. When he suggested her dragon try it out, she gave Toothless a nod of approval. "You got this, buddy," she assured.

Still a little unsure of himself thanks to his previous failed attempts, the black dragon hesitated but found the confidence a few brief moments later. All he had to do was remember what Emil said. Keep the rhythm of his wings in mind. Feel it. With that, he wiggled his haunches again before lifting off and soaring up into the sky.

He beat his wings, trying to keep a steady pattern. He made sure to be into said pattern as he did a few twists and turns that he had less trouble doing. Now that he was getting the hang of it after Emil's little tutorial, it could almost be called a beautiful sight, the way the sun's light reflected off the dragon's skin and scales. He even felt more confidence as he tried the more risky move that caused him to crash land the previous attempts. The barrelling through the air almost made Toothless lose his balance once more, but this time, instead of ungracefully crashing, he managed to catch himself and instead landed with a thumb on all four feet with a bit of a stumble. Wide-eyed and chest heaving for breath he looked back and forth between the two humans for some sign of approval.

It hadn't been a perfect performance, but at least the dragon had gotten through it without hurting himself again. "Better than the other times," Ev said with a nod, "All it needs is some more practice."

The dragon was rather graceful in the sky-- much moreso than on land, he imagined-- and when the dragonite twirled and soared toward the sun, the dancer whistled and hollered with excitement, praising Toothless when he came down with only a smidge of a stumble in his feet. "See? What'd I tell ya? You're lookin' fine already!" Moving to clap the dragonite on the shoulder, Emilian laughed when Charna moved up to the large creature to stand in front of him and assess him. "He's gonna do great with more practice. But you know that already." Moving over to Evangeline, he stood beside her, allowing the pokemon to mingle while he spoke to her about a few things, one of which being his occupation. Yeah. He was a dancer. He worked every day except for Wednesdays, and yeah, Ev should definitely come over some time.

On her own, Charna peered up at toothless, her dark eyes narrowing critically up at the pokemon that was ten times her size. 'You. Don't think you're something special because you know how to do some fancy trick now. You may be as dark as me, but you are nowhere near my level. I'll never recognize you in a light of some sort of talent.' The female's ears flicked with her soft conversation, joined quickly by her much larger brother who cast the dragonite an indifferent glance before sweeping his tail across her back, drawing her attention away from the other pokemon. 'Sister. Do not waste your time with those who are clearly beneath you... Come. Emilian appears that he is almost ready to leave.' With one last flick of her tail, Charna started off toward her trainer, her brother following close behind her as her bodyguard.

"So, ah, I'm starving, actually. I know you guys were in the middle of practicing, but we've still got the whole day ahead of us. Would you have any time to stop and grab some lunch with me? I can make meals with the best of 'em, y'know! It's the least I could do to thank such a pretty lady for lettin' me spend time with her and her brilliant pokemon." Oh, ever the charmer he was. But it was true that he could make a mean plate of food. Vegetarian and otherwise-- Food was a way of getting to know someone, in his opinion at least. "I have a pretty large, uh, back yard, haha. You can let your pokemon play out there while I fix food, if you want..?

Although the dragonite had been proud that he hadn't crashed into the Earth this time, he was no where near planning to brag about it. He knew he was no where near perfection with his moves. Like the smaller eevee had pointed out, it was just a trick. Nothing special. All Pokemon could do something, right? With a bit of a whine, he trailed after the two, feeling a little dejected. They didn't even really know him! But they did sort of look the same. Black in colour. Unlike the two siblings seemed to be, Toothless was far from dark in nature.

'I'm not special.' he pointed out as he took slow steps behind them. His neck hung down, causing his head to hover just above them. It wasn't hard to keep up considering the vast size difference. 'I thought you two perform really well. A lot better than me. How long did that routine take to learn?' the dragon asked, despite the rude introductions. There was no sense in being rude in return if he wanted to make friends.

While the three Pokemon were off conserving, Evangeline was side-by-side Emil have her own conversation. So she was right. He was a dancer. And she would have to go see him sometime. It was only fair to be polite after he helped her out. "Food? Yeah, food's always good," the girl replied, a little smile crossing her features at his compliment--though that was all she could seem to do. She got a little awkward when it came to that sort of stuff.

"I think Toothless would be good with that plan too. He could use a break," she added, and with that, turned around to face her dragon. "Hear that? You get some free time. Okay with that?" she called out, and the green-eyed creature nodded in response, to which she gave a thumbs up. Man, she felt like they actually spoke the same language sometimes. "Thanks again," she said a little more softly as she turned back to the dancer, "I appreciate it."
