OOC This is only for those who were invited from the mystery prp/ chose to go with O Perhaps to some people, this place could be called paradise. Large, almost mythical-looking green trees, tropical and exotic by nature, surrounded by thicker foliage, so thick without the simple clearing at all ends around the portal, the rainforest would have been considered dark. It was damp, it was slightly loud, it was humid.
It heard, felt, smelt like so many things at once, it was hard to distinguish, compared to the sterile nature of Deus Ex itself, what was going on at first.
In front of them was a tent guarded by two sentries, hooded, wearing strange canvas bag heads with crude eye holes cut out. They wore the usual Hunter attire, or at least the whites, but their coats were slightly different. Emblemless. Divisionless.
Both of them stared warily at the new arrivals: however they did not summon weapons but instead used large, runic spears. It was almost impossible to tell who they were other than possibly Hunters.
"Stop." The voice came from the tent, that voice, the one through the speaker system, just as loud and clear. "These are our new recruits. They seek to join our cause for reformation." A pause. The portal closed behind them. The two sentries neared closer.
"If you with to join REFORMATION, if you truly wish to leave your past behind, then you will not take the corruption given to you by those who disobeyed the rules." That voice was clear in itself. "Your weapons. I want all of you to give your weapons to me. Giving away the old is only a step towards the new."
The two sentries were joined by several more. Shadowed figures, with the same runic weapons, the same oddly disjoined, gaunt masks. Uniformity. Confirmity. Two of them held a bag. It was obvious what was supposed to go within it. OOC - ALL THOSE WHO CHOSE THE PORTAL GO HERE AND RESPOND TO THIS POST

"What," said Gale. "the hell."
The place in front of him was someplace tropical, with sprawling, enormous trees, thick green leaves and a heat wave that made Gale's hear almost immediately sweaty, sticking to his forehead in damp white and gold strands. He pushed it away with a gloved hand, frowning around at the white-clothed men and women, trying to make some semblance of what exactly was going on here.
And then there was him again.
<< Well, uh...this is, uh... >>
Good grief. Can't he even show himself while he's here?
<< Apparently not. >>
Gritting his teeth a little, he listened with irritation, his desire to know who the coward behind the voice was growing with each word. Gale eyed the sentries that came forward with some apprehension, which rapidly grew when he realized just what the bags they were hold were for.
...what..?
Jinhai's voice sounded slightly strained, as though he were trying too hard to be lighthearted. << Don't worry, I'll be fine. You'll be fine too. It's okay. Just...just go ahead. You're a Death hunter, this is what you do, Shortie McShortpants. >>
Are you kidding me?
<< No. You really are short, I wasn't kidding. >>
You know what I mean, git.
There was small, gentle laughter now.
<< You and I will find each other again. >>
With a glare that could have rivaled a certain Death Lead's, Gale lifted his hand, feeling the rifle disappear beneath his fingers in a small glow of white light, desummoning into the small silver ring around his finger. He looked at it for a long moment, running his thumb over it and trying not to think of how this was not what he had planned, that he had not expected to give up the one person (thing) that had yet to let him down on the island.
What a stupid decision.
<< You'll be fine. It's not goodbye. You can't get rid of me that easily. >>
Hah.
<< 'til we meet again, short stack. >>
Until next time, Ginny.
He pulled off the ring and dropped it soundlessly into the bag.

The first thing Solia did was smell. Scent was a useful sense as it helped verify visuals. And as large brown eyes took in the view, the smell of what she was seeing all matched up. It wasn't a dream, not to her anyway. Her normally bouncy curls only curled up a little bit more as she regret wearing her typical skinny jeans. It was annoying on the island, but here it was just hot. Looking to her fellow hunters, and getting excited by the fact she had not only one, but TWO sempais here with her, she would surely be fine. The bag headed pseudo hunters had her tensing, scooting to hide behind Gale, (which worked, blessed shortness). Solia. Israfel's voice was a chime, clear and melodious. Solia, was this really your choice? She didn't know, but it was worth a try. peering from Behind Gale to the mystery guards, the command to remove her weapon had her frozen. .......Israfel wasn't corrupt, he wasn't old he was- "Will they be alright?" She pulled the ring off her finger, thumb running over the blue rose. It will be alright. The calmness that Israfel held made her grip the ring, hands shaking just slightly. I chose you, and you have your sempais here. But what about you? I will be alright Solia. I will come if you call me. But what if they- I trust you. The feeling of his faith in her scared her, mostly, as she lacked a good portion of faith herself. Timidly, she dropped the ring in the bag, It will be alright. His voice faded as it left her hands. She hoped that he was right. She really did. Sticking next to Gale she tried to smile. "Hi sempai."

As she ran through the portal to the other side, to protect.... Ceres mentally cried out. What the ******** did i just sign up for.The first thing she noticed was the area that surrounded them. It was....very exotic. And hot, really freaking humid. The tree's seemed to soak up any water given to them and disperse any excess out in to the air, making it honestly really unpleasant. She was used to the darkness that came from the mists on the island, but this tropical setting was different. It was a lot less...clean? She guessed that was one way to put it. Her sight was soon occupied by the people also dressed in white, very similar to them only they bore no sigils. No signs of their divisions. It was then the made spoke, and her breath was caught in her throat. No....You have to. Why the bloody hell should i? Keru...if i lose you, i... i cant protect. I cant HEAL. I cant protect Gale, i came here because of him!Of course you can stupid child, or was the time you told me about this medical school you attended a lie? The times you jumped in front to protect and guard someone, that was not me that was -you-.You did most of the work, you were the shield. She ignored about the healing, Takeru knew all too well that she could not deny her minor knowledge in how to use a band-aid. I dont want to lose you again. I dont think these people will let you live unless you do this. You have to try and blend in.Death division is not my strong suit. Try, or you wont last long. We will see each other again. This is not Goodbye for good, this is only a temporary solution. Damnit Keru. Her weapons soul might be an a*****e, but he was a smart one. He knew what he had to do to survive, and in this case it was to give up Ceres. He knew if he lost her theres was a good chance he might never find another human to bond with, so in a way it was selfish of him as well. This way she had a better chance at living. Narrowed eyes looked up towards Gale, whom seemed to be the first to willingly give up his weapon. Just like that. Was he also mentally breaking down as she was? Could she bloody well DO this? You signed up for this to protect Gale, so go ******** do your job girl.
Gritting her teeth she let go of her sword as it desummoned back down in to its base form. Removing the buckle from one of her belts, she stuffed the remaining leather in to one of her pouches and approached the one holding the bag. With her free hand she grasped Gales shoulder roughly and stared down at the Death Division hunter.... and glared holy hellfire at him as the kirin buckle fell in the bag with a clank.

"Hey, Solia," said Gale quietly, reaching out to squeeze the trainee's arm with what he hoped was reassurance, though not having Jinhai was making him extremely apprehensive of what exactly he had just signed on for.
And apparently it was making someone else apprehensive as well, since a hand clamped down on Gale's shoulder. A hand that, when he looked up, he discovered belonged none other than a very irate (understatement) looking Ceres Kentley.
Gale felt some of his pride shrivel and die.
"Er...hi Ceres."

"It can't be helped," Sam shrugged, throwing her bangle in as well, "Though since we're here, I do have a question." She smiled coyly. "You do treat ladies nice right? I'll cut to the business here, I'm not here to play nice and suck up and hope one day I'll get a slice of that cake. I would like the cake, filling, and everything, and I'll do whatever it takes to prove it. Whatever it takes. And if it's information you're looking for, well I know quite the fair bit now, don't I?"
She smiled a bit, giving a modest turn of her figure to show off her coat and specialization emblem.
Gale got a cute pat on the head. "Aww, that's so cute, you tried. I'll make sure to let our new boss know about that gem of a slip up." It was entirely patronizing.

Some part inside her calmed as she saw the look Gale gave back at her. Oh yeah he understood well why she was here. Why she would not have come otherwise. "Hello, Gale." Pleasure to see you here. She addd on mentally, biting away the rest of her reply to him. Damnit. She looked over towards Solia with a nod. Deep down she truly wondered if she could trust anyone else here. Did they come here, breaking off ties with the rest, for power?Sam received the look she deserved though, that being a bit of a glare. She made a note to stand between Gale and Sam. Ceres if nothing could make a hell of a meat shield.

Quite the change of scenery, at the least. 'Tropical paradise' was not exactly Mimsy's most desired place to be, but she couldn't discount it yet. Even if she decided in the next second that she didn't want to be here, there wasn't really another option, was there?
She assumed that this was some sort of outpost, with the tent and the exotic location taken into account. It made sense that they would not immediately be brought to whatever their main headquarters would be, were this not it; that was too dangerous, having untested new recruits running amok at base.
All was relatively normal, with the exception of the canvas masks that they wore.
Svensyl laughed, catching on. She frowned. She certainly hoped that they would not be required to put those things on their heads, as it would impede peripheral vision and cause all sorts of other sensory complications.
She stopped when ordered to, her eyes following the length of one of the spears. Masks and spears and blank white coats. Such pains to remove individuality.
The request for their weapons was not even finished before complaints rose, echoing in her mind.
She all but threw the brooch into the bag, looking very firmly into the eyes of the being that held it.
"Please ensure that stays with you," she requested, chin up. If they could truly grant her a world of silence again, she might give them her left arm.
She cleared her throat, folded her arms, and stepped backward to wait, nodding as pleasantly as she could manage to those who had chosen the same path as she had.

Ceres was really very intimidating when she wanted to be, Gale decided, half cowering under the glower she was sending in his direction. He gave her a weak smile, reminded himself that he had picked this path and that if Ceres could date someone as doufy as Bix she could probably kick his a**.
"Er," he said, but that was as far as he got before he was so very rudely interrupted. Gale looked entirely unamused by Sam.
"Yes, if they treat ladies right, everyone else will be just fine," he replied, with a roll of his eyes. "Too bad you don't fall under that category."

The squeeze helped drive off her nervousness, but still, she already wanted Isra back. "...." looking to Ceres she tried to smile at her as well. "I don't think we've met before this."

Content with the fact she sent the fear of life through the blond boy, she lessened her grip on him and eventually let go. Ceres just hoped he knew that she was here in the end to guard him, and whomever else she decided needed it.
Her attention briefly shuffled towards Mimsy, as she all but threw her weapon in to the bag. Geez. Ceres nodded back at her in greeting, but inside she made a mental note to be wary of this one.
As the voice popped up once more, her bright eyes turned to look towards Solia once more. "No i dont think we have, I'm Ceres... whats your name?"

The smile widened, bowing her head slightly at Ceres. "Solia Delacroix. It's nice to see a moon with us..." He gaze drifted back to the divsionless coats. "Not sure if that will matter however."
Looking back to Ceres's coat, Solia felt a pang of worry for Jason. She hoped he'd be alright. That she would still see him again.

In his brief flicker of imagination, the portal ended in a hundred different places, good, bad, terrible, deadly. But none of these places were hot, wet, and sticky.
The hum had burst into a hundred sounds, and the smell of humidity and earth and greenery that practically choked him after so long breathing the air of sealed, sterile buildings.
He spun, still holding out the sawblade in front of him, clinging to it for the safety it offered him. It might well have been a stick for all the good it was really going to do, and the moral support it offered. Song was equally confused but far less timid about the situation. She voiced her feelings bitterly as the sharp points of runic spears pressed closer. Now you've done it. You don't listen.
But he didn't respond, because what was there to say? His eyes flickered silently to Mimsy. Unspoken questions.Watching as one by one the others gave up their weapons. Even Sam. No crazy last stands, no surprise plans, just a quiet exchange. It was oddly anticlimactic, and yet, he was quickly realizing how adrenaline-driven he'd become and how he could still feel his heart pounding in his throat.
No. Don't do this.
With some effort, the blade retracted in a flash of light. Curved and curled down into little more than a harmless, overgrown lucky rabbit's foot, claws protruding a dangerous couple of inches. It sat waiting in his hand. She begged him one last time. This was not how it was supposed to go.
You need me!
He clutched it tightly in his hand before tossing it lightly into the bag. He'd come this far for the truth. There certainly wasn't any going back now.
. . .
Even surrounded by noise and hunters, for the first time in almost a year, he truly felt alone.

"Very good." The figure with the bag retreated into the tent. "This is your first step into reformation, giving up your old identity, your old sense of self. There is no I, there is only WE. WE are all fit to lead. We are all entitled to our opinions, this is a shared environment, this is a community. We are each and one."
There was a strange hissing noise now, and then a strange, awful stench that cut through even the moisture and haze. It smelt of thick smoke, followed by a loud buzz and crack, as the same masked figure returned with what seemed like some warped version of a power tool. Its end was glistening a hot blue.
"Now step forward, and let your flesh be branded with your new purpose. This is your step into becoming ONE." Another figure next to them held a series of blank canvas bags. Nameless. Faceless. Uniformity. Equality. This is what they would become.
