Hobbies: Me and Mom - It's always been just Mystery and her Mom as she was growing up. Her mom is her teacher, her role model, and her friend. Mystery loves learning all the different things that her Mom has to offer. Whether it is learning how to put on her makeup better, shopping for more costume pieces for the photography set, practicing how to take better photographs, helping out with photo shoots, or even something as simple as working on homework together, Mystery really does enjoy all her time with Mom. It might seem odd for a girl who is getting close to becoming a teenager to enjoy her Mom's company, but it is just the way things have always been, and she wouldn't have it any other way!
Makeup, Dressing up, and Fashion - With all the women who come by to do photo sessions with her Mom, Mystery has gotten a lot of exposure to makeovers while growing up. For her, it is amazing to see someone go from a plain everyday Suzy to a stunning Vintage Model! Just seeing these transformations nearly everyday has inspired her to learn all she can. Playing with Makeup has become an art she desires to master and gets ample practice with (thanks to Mom offering special discounts at the studio for allowing Mystery to do the makeup for an appointment). She likes playing with different styles, mixing the Vintage that Mom works with all the time and new styles like Punk into the mix. If anything, she has found great fun in playing with style and is a classic girly-girl in this regard.
Photography - Mystery loves being in pictures. She also loves taking pictures. With this dual love for both sides of the camera, she spends a lot of time learning anything she can. She's practiced lots of different expressions in front of her Mom's camera, and finds she enjoys playing model. When she was about nine years old, her Mom started to explain more things about photography and how to use a camera. While Mystery still has a lot to learn, she likes to tote about her iPhone and try her best to catch a stunning shot to show off to her Mom later. She dreams of the day that her Mom allows her to truly play with her cameras in the studio.
Decorating Things Uniquely - Mystery has a creative streak that strikes when she least expects it! She likes to decorate little things and enjoys customizing. However, her methods rarely are the common-place tools for the trade. The trees in the front yard occasionally find themselves decorated in loose ribbons strung about. Her wall is collaged in 3-D objects rather than posters or pictures. Her Christmas decorations sometimes seem more like Spring or Easter themed decor. Though sometimes she might come across as abstract with some of her decorating concepts, with the amazing support she has from her mom, she usually gets the chance to experiment as her mind imagines. Though she won't necessarily decorate things for other people, she doesn't mind others helping her to do the decorating she wants to do!
Virtues: Spunky -- She's energetic and upbeat. Even if her life is not picture perfect, she rarely lets things get her down. Everyday chores people would usually make a sour face at, Mystery instead finds pleasure in completing (while singing some of that old-time Rock-and-Roll). Why dwell on how boring the chores are when you can just finish them and move onto doing the fun things? Life has already thrown her plenty curveballs in the past to try to get her down, but Mystery won't let life win at such a game! She just looks at the positives, but more importantly, she
moves on!
Creative -- Mystery's mind sometimes seems more like that of an abstract artist. She enjoys coming up with fun ways of decorating, playing, and making the everyday more special. She enjoys making up new superfantabulous words to express her emotions rather than rely on the conventional expressions. She will make up games on the fly if things are ever boring in her life, or come up with songs out of the back of her head. Just because she can
do these things doesn't mean her games are always the best, or that her music is beautiful. However, her mind will still continue to come up with all of these things easily, and outside of the conventional box.
Inquisitive -- Perhaps part of the reason why Mystery is so creative is because she is always willing to ask about things. Her wheels in her mind are always turning, and rather than stifling her questions, she
asks them. She wants to learn, and will eagerly pay attention to absorb the information that others are willing to offer her. After all, all the new things she learns, she can just use to come up with new ideas in her head.
Flaws: Whale of a Tale -- Sometimes creativity is best in small doses. With Mystery, she can't handle doing creativity in small doses. She is not a liar, but she has a tendency to exaggerate and make things
bigger than life. It can be entertaining to listen to Mystery talk about the giant, house-sized dog that was green with purple polka dots, but with stories like that, Mystery's credibility suffers greatly. Those who are familiar with Mystery know that her stories most times are not accurate and have some sort of childish whimsy to them.
Her Way! -- She is not necessarily spoiled, but she is very used to getting her way. Her mom is very permissive. Her mom always believed in encouraging Mystery's creativity and curiosity. In a world where Mystery is her Mom's world, it has fostered a sort of ego centrism in Mystery. She's no bully about her views, but at times she will come across as bossy. Games need to be followed by
her rules, makeovers need to be done the way
she wants them, and friends need to buy the outfits that
Mystery suggests. If things don't go her way, well, continued insisting is the only method this girl uses to ensure she gets what she wants. In which the repetition can get annoying
really quickly.
The Place outside of her Comfort Zone -- Despite how outgoing Mystery can seem, she is very adjusted to how things
always are. Her life has always been about her and her Mom. She has always been home schooled, and the people she interacts with most are frequently a minimum of 10 years older than her through her Mom's photography studio. She is most comfortable in the less than conventional lifestyle she grew up in. However, said lifestyle has caused her social abilities to suffer. Though Mystery is not outright malicious, she sometimes just does not
understand some of the social cues from her own age group. For instance, if her peers start to fuss or fidget, she might not be able to guess they might be bored or uncomfortable with a situation. Mystery can't figure out all those little nuances that most other kids pick up on by being in a public school, and it doesn't seem like she is going to pick up on those nuances anytime soon.
