Calder had faltered when he'd said he would invited someone; Efflo assumed he'd meant his boilfriend. Efflo wondered if he'd made the right decision in inviting Gabby. Would he even want to go? He didn't seem like the large crowds type either, much like himself. But Efflo really, really wanted him to go. What was the point of getting clothes, he thought, except to impress his boilriend? He pulled his phone out from his pocket and flipped it open, pulling up Gabby's number to send him a text. Better butter him up a little. To: Gabriel Hey handsome! Can I show you off to one of my friends? : ) We're waiting out front of your dorms He wouldn't mention the Maul yet. That could wait until they were in person, or even more preferably, once they were there. Looping his arm back through Calder's as they reached the Ghost Dorms, he smiled warmly at the kelpie while he waited for the dragon's reply. "I really hope you like him!" Calder was so great, though, and of course so was Gabby, and Efflo couldn't fathom how anything could possibly go wrong.

What in the hell... Gabby stared at the text he'd gotten for several seconds. Sure, he liked being called handsome. But was Efflo really saying he wanted to show him off like some prize- Oh wait, just kidding, he liked that idea, too. With a snap of his fingers, he closed the phone and picked up his jacket, sliding it over his body while he exited his dorm room. He had it zipped by the time he'd gotten to the doors, and as he opened it with a hit of his hip, he puffed up his collar and adjusted it to his liking. His thin, glaring eyes scanned the area until he saw two boils, one of which was his boilfriend, arm in arm with another boil. He tried to remember that Efflo had invited him down to see his friend, and that there was no reason to want to slap that arm away. So instead, he strode up, stopping in front of them both, and gave the two an even, frosty stare. "Hey."

Calder was very close to Efllo, and looked around with excitable eagerness before the ghost showed up. Calder didn't get to talk to too many ghosts actually. Most of his friends were either undeads or demons, and ghosts still confused him a bit in their ways. Still, when it came to horns, he embraced it all with open arms.
The boil that Efflo showed was a posh looker with curling horns, a sleek design, and a tail that said dragon. Dragons mean natural forms which in turn meant even bigger horns. Oh, he was feeling faint.
"Ohhh! You're right! He is a looker!" He said out loud, clutching Efflo with a smile. "Hello! I'm Calder! Efflo's friend. You're very handsome."

Efflo smiled widely back at Calder, giving his arm a friendly squeeze before bounding at Gabby, nearly bowling him over as he wrapped his arms around his boilfriend. He nuzzled his face affectionately against the ghost’s jacket. “Hey,” he greeted him softly. “See, I told you, Calder! I’m glad you think so though,” he grinned as he turned back to face the kelpie, leaning against Gabby. He knew Calder would say the right things. Calder practically knew everything. “Calder, this is my boilfriend, Gabriel. Gabriel, this is my friend Calder. He’s a horse too! Well, a kelpie but… Still a horse, right?”

Efflo's exuberance was met with careful deliberation, as Gabby caught the boil in one arm, and picked him off the ground an inch or so, flattening him against himself. The frostiness of his glare softened when he looked at Efflo, and he even smiled - a little. He took the time, despite Calder standing right there, to settle his fingers under Efflo's chin and perk his face forward. He stole a kiss, and set the boil back down on his feet. With that, the mere idea of jealousy was flung out the window. His territory was clear, and Calder was doing nothing but complimenting him - which put him in a very good mood. He took Calder's hand, and shook it softly. "It's nice to meet you, Calder. You're quite the charmer - I appreciate the compliment." He gave the boil a wink, and let his hand go. Of course, he still didn't know what the real plan for the day was, so now he felt like he was out for show, and shifted his weight awkwardly. "So.." Efflo better not ask him to dance, or take off his jacket, or something demeaning..

Calder wasn't the type to shake hands, but seeing as Gabriel was clearly a ghost, he felt comfortable shaking his hand while still keeping his promise to Barth about the whole shaking rule. It was strange to shake hands with someone cold to the touch, but he was a bit used to it with having so many undead friends. He was also surprised that he dressed so well. Did they make clothes for ghosts and how hard was it to sew, he wondered.
"Horse-affiliated." Calder corrected. "One of my natural forms. In fact, we should race sometime. It's been a while." He smiled. The nuzzle was something he was surprised to see, having been really the only other equine about and not seeing Efflo around either. It was refreshing to see anyone use the same social mannerisms he did, and his smile was even broader.
"So... we should get going. We're wasting daylight." He chimed, looking to Efflo to grab his hubby and start heading out.

He grinned giddily as Gabby swung him upward and employed his favourite pastime: kiss-stealing. Efflo was tempted to reach up again even as he was being set down; one kiss was never enough. However, they had places to be and he worried that if he started down that path, they would never get to the maul. So he settled next to Gabby, watching as the only two creeple he was remotely close to shook hands. His ears perked happily, they seemed to be getting along, and Gabby was being so cool, he thought, feeling smitten. “We should,” he said with a laugh, when Calder mentioned racing. “It’s been awhile.” But the kelpie was right, there was more to today than introductions. He nodded at Calder, slipping his hand into Gabby’s with a squeeze. “Let’s get going then,” he said smiling, carefully omitting their destination.

Gabby's trouble senses were tingling. "Uh." He hesitated, even when Efflo's hand pulled him forward. "Going... where now?" Nobody had told him they were going out. And that, alone, had him eyeing the two suspiciously. What dastardly destination could they have had planned for him, that required daylight? All of his warning signals were flashing.

Seeing as Efflo hadn't said anything, Calder decided to take the hint and just not mention anything. "Someplace that Efflo needs your advice. It would be weird for him to ask just any boil after all, since you're his boilfriend." It was somewhat truth considering that Efflo would want to dress nice to impress the guy he loved, and only one person could give their opinion on what they found sexy.
"Efflo, we could get their fast if we race there." If Efflo was okay with going pony with Gabriel on his back.

Efflo silently thanked Calder for saving him. There’s no way he would have been able to answer Gabby’s question without giving it away, the horse was a terrible liar. Not that the kelpie had really lied at all, it was just a creative interpretation of the truth. Plus, Efflo really did want the dragon’s advice; he wanted desperately to impress his boilfriend. He simply nodded at Calder, and refrained from commenting on ‘where’ they were going further. ‘How’ was another story. He smirked at Calder, “Sounds good to me, you’re on!” The boil stepped away from Gabby, tilting his head to look at him before he changed. “Did you want to hitch a ride or…?” Real romantic.

Nobody really answered Gabby's question, and that alone would have kept him firmly planted on the ground, immobile and refusing to move an inch until he was given some proper answers. But once more, Calder had said the magic word... Without realizing it, he'd just sprurned Gabby into action. He let out a choppy laugh before patting Efflo's rear end fondly, and shaking his head. "Like hell am I letting you boils have all the fun. If we're racing, I'm winning." He backed up even further, because he knew he'd need a lot of room. He pulled off his pin, and the soft twisting tendrils that floated on his right side sprung out, turning into giant clouds of fog and ice that cocooned him. It grew, and grew, until the massive cloud cleared and left a ghost dragon prodding the ground with his massive claws, in its place. Horses. Yeah. Good luck with that.

Calder smiled and took off his own pin, the ground rising up as the fog grew thick around him until a white mare stepped out looking a bit too dazzling for Halloween. The dragon was huge, but when it came to races, Calder felt supreme.
There was also one thing the dragon did not know - and that was where to race too.
"Sure? The thing is, you have to follow to find out where we're going!" He said with a laugh to the dragon who thought he would be winning without knowing the finish line.
With that, he kicked off leaving the pair where they stood. "LAST ONE THERE IS A SPARKLING PRINCESS!"

All Efflo could do was stare in awe as Gabby transformed, eyes wide as they would go. Gabby was huge! His own pin was quickly discarded as he followed suit, enveloped by shadow as his form twisted into it’s equine shape. He danced on his feet, hooves clattering on the ground as he waited for the signal to go. Gabby might have eclipsed them with his massive form but Calder was right, only they knew where they were going. As the white mare galloped off, Efflo bolted after Calder, squealing with excitement. He’d missed this.

He didn't know where they were going. "s**t-WAIT-" But off they went, leaving him in the dust with no idea where their actual destination was. Which meant he couldn't fly ahead... and he couldn't possibly win. THIS WAS THE WORST RACE EVER. Gabby's angry roar echoed and vibrated the air, before he launched up into the sky and flapped his wings, soaring above the two horses. He had to keep his moves slow, so that he didn't get ahead.. AND IT WAS KILLING HIM.

Calder threw his head back, bouncing a few times before bolting. "Come on, Efflo! Show your boilfriend how much endurance you have for long run!" She sang, picking up speed and trying not to run into any carriages, cars, or people. Trampling anyone just to get to a Maul just wasn't right.
