[This is an ORP inspired by the current election event! Anyone, whether they're involved or not, can feel free to drop in and buy something- or not buy anything, but just poke around and find out about the campaign. Any sales/interested parties here have no relation to the election results, it's all just for fun!]
There was a part of Wallace that just couldn't believe it. Somehow he had bested four of his opponents and moved on to the main election. If things went well, he could be on his way to a real political seat of power, able to actually affect things, far sooner than he'd ever planned. School office was one thing, but this... this could be amazing. It was already amazing, actually. He had a campaign. He even had campaign workers! People believed in his cause, and weren't just trying to use him to get the drama club to put on Pirates of Penzance, or a bigger budget for the wardrobe department, like some people he'd known. Together, they could really make the changes he'd spoken about at the debate, he just knew it!
But not yet. There was a lot of hard work to do first. Fortunately, Wallace wasn't afraid of working hard. He was up and out bright and early, talking to voters, spreading the word about his platform, while his campaign workers focused on fundraising. Wallace stopped by the bake sale table every so often to check on them- and to sneak a cupcake or two from time to time, because campaigning needed plenty of fuel. "Keep up the good work," he told them, hiding the remains of a chocolate chip cookie in his handkerchief. "I'll be back in a little bit, after I finish canvassing the businesses nearby."

Sophie loved bake sales, and had participated in many of them over the years, fundraising for the DCCC, for SCYDC, the community garden, the soup kitchen, and other organizations she was involved with. She was a natural choice to be point person for this bake sale, which officially meant handling the money. Unofficially, it seemed to mean going up to every single person who passed by, whether they looked at the table or not, and trying to get them to buy something. Considering how hard she worked to sell things, and how little she remembered to mention the name of her candidate, one might guess that she was more interested in the bake sale than in the campaign, and they'd be right.
Politics just didn't do it for her. The debate had failed to convince her that the answer to the world's problems was in legislation. But it had given her some interesting info nonetheless. And having had offered herself as a campaign worker, she wasn't about to back out of it now. Not when there were cookies and cupcakes to sell! The trays were pretty full, having just received a new batch of baked goods from the candidate's family, including a rather large cupcake covered with frosting and sprinkles, which she'd been told to set aside for the candidate himself. Considering the way he tended to sneak things from the table- badly, since she could notice- she wasn't sure he really needed more, but she couldn't exactly go up against his family, and resolved not to worry about it. At least, not while he wasn't even there to lecture.
Instead, she nodded to her coworkers and called out to the people passing by. "Come and get your afternoon snack right here, folks! Cupcakes, cookies, muffins- you name it, we've probably got it!" At a nudge from one of her fellow sellers, she checked the script and remembered why they were there. "Oh, vote for Wallace Suite for City Council- and come and get a cupcake!" Priorities, Sophie definitely had them.

Ian was really enjoying this whole politics thing, though he didn't think that he was ever going to run for a position himself. He wasn't really into the whole speeches thing, though he was certainly enjoying supporting his chosen candidate.
It hadn't taken him too long to pick which one he wanted to support, though they all had good points, but he had really liked Wallace's points the best. Which is why he was currently out manning a bake sale, his tray of carrot cake cupcakes sitting on the table behind him.
"Cupcakes for the City Council! Vote Wallace Suite!" He was doing a pretty good job selling them, and he grinned at his fellow coworkers. "Nice day for this isn't it."

"Well hello, beautiful," Zia was getting good at being a creeper, apparently, as her first course of action was to lean on the bake sale table nearest Sophie and give her her best lecher smirk.
"Cake," She grabbed at a cupcake, and made no attempt to go for her wallet. Yes she expected Sophie to just allow her to randomly steal cake and get away with it. IF she wanted her to pay, she was going to have to work for it.
Sophie running a bake sale was nothing weird, it was actually deliciously normal, mundane, and nostalgic even, though the cause was inconsequential.
"Who's Wallace Suite?" She asked the two running around as she surveyed the sweets and didn't really make much eye contact with either of them. She was making plans that more or less amounted to which baked good was going to get stuffed in her face in what order.

"Hey, any day's a great day for a bake sale." That wasn't really true: bad weather, bad news in the media, even something like heavy traffic could be enough to make a fundraising event go sour. But none of those would bring Sophie down. It was a lovely day with just a bit of a breeze, and lots of people were walking instead of taking the bus or the train, enjoying the spring sunshine. It couldn't get any better.
Unless they managed to sell everything. Then it couldn't get any better.
As another customer approached the table, Sophie put on her best "hey buy a cupcake!" smile. It faltered for a moment when she saw who it was, to be replaced by a more genuine expression of delight. "Zia! Wow, I've been meaning to get in touch with you! I, um, wanted to pick up our discussion where it left off." Now that she'd done some research- though not enough for her tastes- she felt more capable of handling whatever Zia's issues were.
The issues of the day, on the other hand, were a bit beyond her. "Oh, uh, Wallace Suite is running for City Council! He supports..." Drat, what was his platform again? Why had she agreed to support him? "More community involvement and support for single families." And other stuff, too, she was sure, but she couldn't remember what off the top of her head. She was in sales, not publicity. Maybe the other guy knew more about the campaign points.
"And you too can support him by buying these- and many more- delicious treats, each one just one dollar or less!" Sophie would let Zia get away with swiping one, but any more than that and she would have to take drastic measures.

Ian heard one of the other volunteers struggling to explain what Wallace's platform was, and the small teen bounded over to toss in an explanation. "Mr. Suite believes in a safe city for everyone, one that no one has to worry about the streets being unsafe. He supports a increased police presence, with a harsher penalty towards violent crimes. He'd like to see more transparency, so that the people can know, and understand just what their council members are doing and where their money is going. He might be a younger candidate, but maybe that's what the council needs, a new viewpoint into things. He's willing to try new ideas, to learn from those around him, to listen to what the people have to say, and truly wants to see Destiny City be the very best that it can be."
That was all the important stuff, right? He ticked them off with his fingers. Um, yeah, that seemed like everything.
"If you want to meet him, he'll be back in a little while. He's gone to talk to some of the local businesses."
The boy bounded off then to deal with a customer, pointing out a couple of his favorite of the cupcakes to help them decide. He was in earshot should Zia have any other questions, but right now, he had more cupcakes to sell.

Bake Sales were always such a tease.
Yvette was an infamous bake-sale window-shopper. Looking but no buying. Part of the reason was a fear of cross contamination. The other reason was that she frequently didn't have the spare money to spend on such indulgences.
The girl honestly would have tried her darnedest to pass without ogling too much, but she soon enough spied a familiar face behind one of the tables. Considering the circumstances of their previous encounter, the typically shy girl figured it would probably be in her best interests to let the brunette know that she was still alive after that whole ordeal.
Meekly, she approached the table, but rather than actually say something, she simply waved to Sophie. It seemed like the girl was already chatting it up with some other paler-haired girl...

Zia! Wow, I've been meaning to get in touch with you! I, um, wanted to pick up our discussion where it left off.
Zia laughed like Sophie had just told a really lame joke and inspected her prize. "Ah ha... no." She had given more effort into listening to Ian's explanation. Which she responded to in an equally disrespectful way.
"Ugggh, hate cops," She said with a childish groan as she picked apart the cupcake Sophie had ever so graciously let her steal. She would probably not be voting for Mr. Suite. She would actually probably not be voting at all, but damn it, cake.
She watched Ian putter around, and it was only through observation of said puttering she noticed some purple haired girl waving in their general direction. Eyes on the new comer, she tilted her head towards Sophie and gave her a sharp nudge with her elbow. "Hey. Looks like some girl with really epic tits wants to talk to you."
