✥ Characters :: Folkvardr and Akemi ✥ Location :: Thornwood.
This place was impossible!
Akemi sighed, scrunching up her map and throwing it behind her in frustration. Useless piece of s**t! Worst. Purchase. Ever! Red eyes scanned the area: every tree, every bush, every damn pathway looked the damn same.
She crossed her legs and propped herself against a large rock in defeat. In that moment her stomach rumbled and the she-b***h huggled over in pain. She had vastly underestimated how much food this trip would require.
She jerked up suddenly, catching a rustling movement from the corner of her eye. She licked her lips. Drool already building up in her mouth.
Second breakfast....
....
....
A much happier Akemi lent against the freshly killed carcass. A fire roared infront of her, providing much needed light. Her arms and torso were soaked with blood. Wild boar was delicious and her enthusiastic moans of satisfaction were tribute to that. She ate her meat bloody, it required less cooking time, and messy food was always better in her opinion.
Maybe a full stomach would improve her navigational skills.
It was possible.

The woods are his home, well, they felt more of his home rather than at Lumena. But every now and then he will venture off early in the morning on the days he is free to better train himself and alone as well. He feels that he works better that way instead of with someone else. And as he travels deeper in the woods, his bright icy eyes caught on to the sight of something crumpled up on the ground in front of him. Folkvardr was curious as he stepped forward to grab it and look to see what it was. "A map?" He questioned. The spiritus couldn't help but smelled the piece of paper for the scent is fresh to his sensitive nose. His wolf ears twitched around and caught on to a sound of crackling fire followed by . . . a scent of blood. It was strong, foul, and it did made the man excited for the hunt. His instincts took a hold of him and wanted to follow where it's coming from.
He followed the trail which was actually close by as Fol looked over the bushes to see . . . a forest child? A . . . bloody forest monkey which is what the person looks like seeing the blood coated almost half her body . . . naked body to be exact from what he can see. "Dear god, what the hell is that thing?" He thought to himself, ears flatten down against his head, and instantly wanted to avoid the thing entirely, but he can't, and he damned his mentor straight to hell or wherever the man is now. He's probably laughing at him too. Fol kept his guard up, his claw gauntlet visible as he stepped closer. His wolfish eyes glared down at the petite wild woman and the meal she's eating which he hopes it's completely dead seeing how raw it is. "Are you . . . all right?" Fol asked, holding up the map that she had abandoned behind.

Akemi growled.
An old habit from a long time ago. The woman was protective of her food, always had been. Though she soon snapped out of it, her face physically relaxing. She dropped the piece of meat she was chewing on and looked over at her visitor, tilting her head in quite a curious manor.
He was a big one.
The she-b***h raised her arm and whipped her mouth, only managing to smear the warm red liquid across her porcelain skin and create an even bigger mess. She nodded and licked her lips before pushing herself onto her feet and dusting off her legs.
It was then that she caught sight of the map and pouted.
"That would be better used as toilet paper for all the good it does. I have been lost in these damn woods since early yesterday morning."
She stated, resting a hand on her hip lazily.

Hearing the growl at first caused the man to growl fiercely back; almost bearing his sharp canine teeth. Fol didn't appreciate it at all but apparently the woman stopped as she looked curious. Now it really make him wonder if she is an inhabitant of these woods seeing how animalistic she is as she wiped the blood off her face. Seeing her . . . frontal side, hasn't fazed the man at all. He was like that, and wild, for most of his life before and didn't question that as the woman stood up and tries to dust herself clean but it had turned into a bigger mess than before. He would hope that she has some article of clothing around somewhere.
A dark brow arched up at her reply to the map he held in his hand and soon was grossed out by it. Fol sighed deeply as his brow now twitched in agitation to the petite woman. "Or maybe to at least clean the blood off better." The Spiritus said as he tossed the map to her to at least do that and not the other. "Just what happen to you? Where you attack by something here in the woods from yesterday?" It was the only thing that could have made sense seeing her appearance. God he really hopes that is the only reason too.

Akemi held out her hand and caught the map with ease.
The damn thing was determined to find its way back into her possession, despite how unwanted it was. She smirked at his comment and in reaction started to dab her mouth with the paper quite elegantly. Though it did not do much good, when the map was truly used she just let it fall to the floor. Disregarded once more. Useless.
Despite the fact her torso was only covered with black ribs, the rest of her body was fairly kitted out. She wore combat boots, some heavy duty gloves and a sarong like skirt that was held on by a sturdy belt.
She raised an eyebrow at his question before looking down at her attire curiously.
Did he mean the blood?
"No. None of this blood is mine. I am just quite a messy huntress it seems."
She was not squeamish. Not in the slightest. She ran her finger across her collarbone to collect more of the liquid before placing it in her mouth and sucking it clean.
"So. Where can I find an exit?"

Fol was silent as he watched the young woman wiping the blood off her face with the crumpled up map. It was an improvement, although a slight improvement, as the map was tossed back down to the ground once again. He stared at the girl some more in further study for he couldn't believe that she had hunted down the boar by herself but then again, he never met a woman who could have done such a thing by her bare hands. Something that he does credit for the hand to hand combat for it was much to his battle style to use his hands, well, claws actually.
He stepped a little closer to the petite woman, his ears twitched in listening to her question of finding the exit here which create a bit of confusion to him. "You can hunt down creatures and yet you have no skills of navigating?" It requires a different skill of tracking but it was still possible. His tail flicked back and forth until he sighs deeply for he has to help the woman out of the woods. "I do, but first you must clean the blood off or else people will see you as some insane, bloody, forest monkey wrecking havoc in the city." He could almost picture it too in his mind and it does not look good at all with people screaming at her sight and shielding children's eyes from her exposed bosom. She might chased away or be killed on sight before she might kill something else. "Go and wash up at a river or pond and then I shall escort you out of the woods." He's not going to give her a choice hearing the demand tone of voice and the menacing glare of his icy eyes. Fol doesn't want to waste any more time of this and wants to go about his plans for the day.

"Nobody is perfect."
Akemi shrugged. She was not from around here, and she had never so much as heard of these damn woods before. In her opinion she did quite well to get this far, especially due to the quality of her map. Lumena seemed like such a long way away, maybe navigating a whole country on her own was not her brightest idea.
Still, that was the task at hand and she would complete it.
She laughed at his description of her. It was pretty spot on. Akemi smirked and tilted her head, her hair-ear-things flopping to one side, making her look like the mischievous pup she was.
"I am sure they are used to stranger things. We do live in a world filled with odd creatures afterall."
She flicked her hair over her shoulder before sighing and giving in to his demands. She wanted out of here, though she did not like the fact a stranger was demanding her to bathe, she would do so to gain freedom from this wretched place. She craved cake, the sooner she found some the better.
"Fine. Fine. If it bothers you so much."
Akemi walked past the boar, taking a leg with her as she made her way towards the river; she might as well devour her fill before their journey continued, maybe more meat would kill her cake urges.

His dark brows furrowed together in slight agitation in hearing the laugh. Honestly, Fol has never met a woman like her before and he's starting to regret about approaching her. Her attitude, stance, and the way she speaks reminds him . . . . of himself actually; the young pup years and years ago. He remembers the time when he was with his mentor and just how cocky he was to Photus; thinking that he knows everything of how to fight but only to be proven very wrong. It just makes Fol want to smack himself now after he remembers those days long ago. "True, but you are the oddest one of all pup. And being covered in blood will make things worse."
Fol watched her heading towards to the river to clean up which made the man happy to see. He silently walked behind her and seeing her still enjoying that raw boar's leg and possibly enjoy it right down to the very bone. "What are your plans once you're out of the woods?" He was curious . . . but another thought came to mind the more he stared at her back and along the black bones that is wrapped around her torso. It made him tilt his head to one side as one of his ears is up while the other is folded down. "On second thought . . . . . how do you . . . the black rib cage . . ." He has seen corsets of course, but that is an interesting piece of clothing (he has no idea what to call it) and just have to wonder . . . how the hell does one actually put it on and take it off?

"Idiot."
The leg bone closed the distance between them and smacked Fol between the eyes. Akemi pouted, her arms folded and her eyebrow raised in a irritated manor.
"I am a woman, and I am magical. That is all you need to know."
The she-b***h informed him of the fact quite bluntly, before wafting her hand to signal him to either divert his gaze of suffer the consequences. When prying eyes were off of her she began to clean the red liquid off of her body, making sure to scrub hard in the area's were it had dried. She needed him to get out of here, and she was sure he would refuse to move if she did not complete the task to his satisfaction.
How pushy.
Hunting was such a messy work.
"I am on an adventure. When I get out the woods the plan is to find a real bed. I have not seen one in months. A warm bath too. Then come tomorrow I will be off to continue my journey."
She explained, finishing off her clean up job before placing every piece of her combat gear back onto its rightful place. She did not mess around when it came to baths, she could draw out a long one in a tub with bubbles, but washing by the riverside was never very pleasant.
"There. Now that I am wet: aswell as cold, shall we be on our way?"
The red-head asked, resting a hand on her hip once more and tilting her head to the side. She had been forced to endure this wood for too long and did not want to waste any more time in escaping from its branchy embrace.

Being called idiot made the Fenrir growled slightly in irritation at the little b***h. He was just curious but apparently all he needs to know that she's a woman and magical and he's fine with that. Fol didn't want to question her anymore as he turned around to let the woman wash up at the river to be clean of the blood. His ears twitches in hearing about this adventure that she's on and wonder about her purpose to go on one but he found it funny about her plans of when she get out.
The moment when she called out that she's finished cleaning up, he looked back to see her now looking like a water logged pup and he chuckled. How funny. But the man did feel bad for the petite woman and he took off the fur cloak that covered the side of his body as he walked up to her and let it dropped over her head. The woman is barely dressed at all and she can easily catch a cold in just minutes. "C'mon pup, or else it'll be night fall by the time we reach to the edge of the woods." He said as he took the lead in guiding her out along. His golden eyes glanced back at her before he looked back forward again as he sighed softly. "My name is Folkvardr Rolvsson. What's your name?"

The world went black as the material flopped over her frame. It dragged along the floor, highlighting how small she was compared to the giant that had stumbled across her. She pulled down the cloak, placing it around the more appropriate place that was her shoulders. She did not know why he had bothered, but it saved her the trouble of digging her own out of her pack.
In truth, the strangers cooperation was startling, and it was beginning to make her feel suspicious. The nature of men was still totally unknown to the girl, reading them was difficult and generally more bother than it was worth.
Unbeknownst to him, Akemi was never sick. She was just one of those people. She was a strong believer in getting on with things and was not one to let illness keep her down. There was more of a chance of a comet hitting him smack in the nose than there was her catching a cold.
Suddenly stopped. Clearly unamused.
"Folk-arah-vah-darh-radadadada."
The syllables rolled out of her tongue randomly and inelegantly. She had already forgotten what he had said his last name was. The she-b***h raised an eyebrow and pouted. That, was ridiculous.
"You have a silly name. I will call you Fol."
She gave a firm nod. That was the way it was going to be.
"Akemi."
One name was enough for her, anything more than that just complicated things. She never understood these people who had grand names that stretched on far past the ending of the parchment.
She walked to keep up to him, every so often letting her gaze drift off to observe the woods.

A smirk appeared on his lips when he saw and clearly noticed about the height differences between them when the fur cloak was draped over her head. The young pup was very short in comparison to him but hopefully it won’t be damaged seeing how it’s being dragged a bit on the ground. If anything, he can always get a new one to replace it as it doesn’t bother him at all. Besides, she needs to be covered up or else she will surely cause a commotion if the petite woman ever decides to go to the city. Fol can only imagine it . . . actually he really doesn’t want to.
His wolf ears were folded flat against his head when he heard the terrible pronunciation if his name that she brutally killed. It made the man turn to see her with a deadly glare. “Are you even trying to speak my name?” It doesn’t sound like it to him as it just sounds like a grave offense to him. A slight growl was heard from the knight but he merely huffed it away in hearing of the nickname which he doesn’t like to be heard from a complete stranger but apparently he has no choice at all. In listening to her name, Fol gave a nod to his head as he will remember it for it really won’t be so difficult to forget . . . sadly.
His bright eyes looked down in seeing Akemi looking around at the woods in curiously of her surroundings as he guides her to the edge. “At least you were lost in Thornwood instead of the Riftwood.” The knight spoke to her. “If you were lost in the dark fog you will never make it out and quite possibly lose your sanity or your life by the creatures there.” How funny though, he thought to himself, for he was once an inhabitant from those woods many years ago . . .

Akemi shrugged.
She was not going to waste her breathe on such a stupidly long and complex name. Everyone was allowed two syllables at most, anything more was greed. The she-b***h folded her arms, walking behind him in mostly silence. After a moment she sighed at his comments.
"I lost them both long ago. They are beyond the reach of any monster now."
She shook her head again, perking up as they seemed to get to the edge. That was fast, maybe she was not as lost as she first thought. She took in a deep breathe, feeling the fresh air of freedom flood into her lungs.
Now, where was that bath and bed?
She ran ahead, looking behind of the giant wolf who had served as her guide.
"Now. Time to find a roof under which to lay my head. What are your plans? Are you coming, or looking for more damsels lost in the darkness."

He wondered about this girl for a while now as he stared at her from the corner of his eyes. To lose their sanity and life; Fol wondered what happened to her before and her life. But he won’t questioned it anymore nor ask any more about her if it meant to upset even more. He doesn’t want to deal with a pissed off she-b***h along the way out of the forest or else he’ll have to find a way to shut her up. “Fair enough Akemi . . .” Even he has lost his sanity long ago and barely his life so he can respect that.
Upon reaching to the edge of the woods, he saw the little red head enjoy the fresh air deeply in her lungs and running up ahead to see more of the bright world now after leaving the forest. The wolf spiritus perked his ears slightly as he heard her speak. It made him chuckle slightly as he walked up to her side. “No I think I met my quota for the day pup.” He said as he then looked up to the sky seeing the sun slowly setting for the day. “I came here for some training but that won’t happen. So I’m going home to Lumena or to at least a town along the way to stay for the night.” Fol had then taken the lead down the path away from the forest to head for the town whether Akemi wants to continue to follow him or go off on her own. He had already done his job in helping her out of the woods.

Akemi paused for a moment, wondering what her best plan of action was. She would go her own way, but risk the chance of once again getting lost in this unfamiliar land, or she could go with the man and endure his company for a little while longer. She thought about it long and hard, before deciding to follow tail. They were heading in the same general direction afterall.
She made sure to keep a couple of feet behind him. He was an odd one, a large wolf with a dominant aura, yet he did not seem to process she same traits that she had come accustom to in large alpha like men. She did not know why this unsettled her, his presence was so familiar but so warped in her mind that it put her on edge. Made her uncomfortable. Did she crave that kind of domination? The kind that her brother showed to his settlement wives? Or did the memories he was stirring up sicken her. Was his existence unfair? Was that alone mocking her? Was the world she came from really that strange? Had it destroyed her sense of humanity completely?
She had no idea. All she knew was probably the only person who she could feel at ease around, the only person she had met who might understand her was acting like any other witch. In this moment, she had never felt so detached and well... downright unusual.
The girl shifted rather uncomfortably, wrapping the cloak around her more to shield herself from the wind. Her one visible blue eye kept to the ground, she was lost in thought, confused. Unsure how to act around the strange rogue Knight.
......
Most of their journey was carried out in silence, every so often she would forget he was there, until she had to rush because he had stepped too far in-front. One strange place lead to another, until the duo came to a rather large looking house on the side of the road. Akemi felt her stomach growl. It was an inn, with the prospect of a warm bath and bed.
She looked ahead to Fol, before rushing to stay by his side.
"Maybe we should inquire about rooms? Darkness will be on us soon."
