It had been about a week since that discussion with Jude happened, and it wasn't like she had been avoiding him or anything... It's just that she had been busy. With stuff. However, since she did promise Bix that she'll think about her relationship with Jude, she had been using the week to fulfil her promise.
But she still doesn't have an answer.
Since she didn't want to just show up randomly in his room, Ariane decided to make up an excuse - she needed to trim, bleach, and dye her hair, and Jude was going to help her, whether he wanted to or not. Maybe being around him will help her figure out her feelings - or lack there of - a bit. After sending him a text, she dumped everything into a duffer bag, and lugged it over to Jude's place. As usual, she walked in without any warning, and dumped the bag on his floor.

He was used to her walking in without any sort of knocking by now, but what he wasn't used to was her texting him before hand. Jude put down the phone after he'd been staring at it and pointed at Ariane as she entered, "Who are you and what have you done with Ariane? She never warns me before she comes over."
The young man wasn't sure what she had planned for them but she certainly brought in a bag. She didn't want things to be awkward between them and he intended on trying to honor that, but now that he was aware of certain factors.
He wasn't sure how to not be awkward..
It'll go naturally, right?

"Oh, I killed her and replaced her with this better Ariane," She replied, digging around in the bag until she found the pair of scissors that she tossed in, along with a comb, "To commemorate this special occasion, I'm thinking of getting a new haircut, along with a new hair color... And you're helping."
He has no say in the matter. Or rather-
"Say no, and I can't promise the safety of your precious golden locks," She grinned, holding up the pair of scissors in one hand before snipping the air. Snip snip.

"I see. A new and better Ariane, huh?" Jude would have to wait and see before he could agree with at least the 'better' part of her explanation. The demands were followed up with threats against his hair and his head sort of tilted to the side. "Has there ever been a moment where I actually say 'no' to you? Not that you give me a choice a lot of the time, but..."
He sighed deeply and just held out a hand, "Let's just start."
It did him no good trying to logic through things, "Either way I just ...If you trust me with your hair then fine. Just know I'm not really a trained stylist. Don't cry if I end up giving you a mohawk."

"I'm sure that there have been plenty of moments where you've said no," Ariane rolled her eyes, and kicked the bag a little closer to where Jude was to make it more convenient to grab stuff. The pair of scissors was then handed over to him, "Anyway, I'm not going to cry if you give me a mohawk. I'm just going to make sure that we end up with matching hairstyles."
An eye for an eye, an inch for an inch.

He rolled his eyes right back at her as he took the scissors and then went rooting through the bag to get everything out and set it up on the desk. He nodded toward the only real chair in his room, "Sit down and no. No mohawk for me." Jude said simply.
O look. He said no.
This was probably the only time he'd fight Ariane tooth and nail if it came down on it and it all had to do with his hair.
Jude was rolling up his sleeves a bit more, "Do you have any idea on what you want for your hair?"

"I'm sure you'll look stunning with one though," Ariane replied as she took a seat, kicking off her shoes and making herself comfortable, "Not really. Maybe just get two inches off the end... It was getting too long. Oh, and my bangs definitely need trimming."
It was constantly falling into her eyes, and she would rather trim it than have to wear a hairband all the time. She wasn't too picky with everything else though... If it's long enough, she'll just pull it up into a ponytail anyway.
And she doesn't use a million and one hair products like some of the men of Deus.

"No. No I won't," he retorted.
Jude was thankful that she didn't want anything too fussy with her hair. He could handle bangs and a trim, in fact Harrison helped him with something similar but that seemed like eons ago now. Jude quietly started out combing her hair after he switched out the scissors for a comb, "So, how are the wife and kids?" he asked dryly.
Surprisingly enough there were no awkward feelings; at least he didn't feel awkward around her.
He quietly leaned and grabbed the spray bottle and began to dampen her hair. It's what all stylists do. Right?

"Oh, you know. Same old, same old," Ariane replied, waving a hand in the air as she leaned against the back of the chair, "She wouldn't stop nagging the other day... GET A REAL JOB! YOU CAN'T BE A STRIPPER YOUR WHOLE LIFE! BLAH BLAH. But I like it when they put money in my boxers, you know? How's your husband and kids?"

"Well you really can't be a stripper your whole life. Things sag as you get older. Something about aging does that," he said simply as he dampened her hair and then picking up the comb and scissors. He would continue to play along with Ariane because it avoided uncomfortable moments.
"He left me for a younger cabana boy and took the kids. I am free," he said simply, "going to take up dancing lessons and find someone better."
After a few moments of measuring bits of hair he started cutting where it felt right to cut.

"Women love an older man," Ariane scoffed, flexing one arm, "And some men too, I guess. Whatever floats your boat. Or your husband's, anyway. And whose side are you on? I have many years of stripping ahead of me... These muscles aren't sagging anytime soon."
She couldn't help tensing up a bit when he started snipping; although she wasn't too particular about it, she also did not want to end up with something terrible.
"Eh, sorry to hear that," She replied, still playing along, "Should have seen it coming though... I saw him occasionally down at the strip club, stuffing notes into Jimmy's boxer shorts, and looking at his firm a**..."

Jude let out a small sigh at her display and lightly snipped a couple of other pieces of hair and let them fall to the floor. If she wanted to turn back it was perhaps a little too late. She was now his masterpiece (or disasterpiece depending on how it turned out) to be perfected. "I don't take sides, sweetie, I just state the truth."
Did he just gay-sass her? Yes. Yes he did.
He let out a small 'mm' and shrugged a shoulder, "Was going to leave him anyways. He couldn't keep it up in the bedroom. How short did you want this anyways?"

"Well, the truth stinks," Ariane made a face before staring at the chunks of hair on the floor. She would have laughed if she didn't think that moving her head would be a mistake right now, "Oh yeah? Is that another truth? Maybe you're the one unable to satisfy him..."
Maybe she should have been a little more careful about offending her hairdresser... While he's still cutting her hair.

Jude raised an eyebrow as he paused to re-dampen the hair again before he resumed cutting. There was a small snip or two here and there as if he was mulling over his retort and that was about the time he leaned and murmured close to her ear, "Ariane. I could probably satisfy anyone that would have me. Including you." The 'gay façade' gone.
Then he leaned away and cut some more. He said his peace.

Jude managed to shut Ariane up, even if it was only for a few minutes; she did expect him to say something like that, but she did not expect him to break out of character... Normally, she would retort back with something like 'Yeah, right', but things were slightly different now, thanks to the last conversation they had.
"Jude," She stood up suddenly, brushing hair off her shoulders as she stared at her friend, "I was planning to just ignore it, but I feel like we should talk like the adults we are, instead of bumbling about like a pair of stupid teens... Even if we are indefinitely stuck in sick version of high school." Or maybe you never really escape from high school. Maybe it just gets worse, because adults can be more cruel than kids or teens.
"I talked to Bix, and I promised him that I would think about it. About that conversation, and about you and me," She narrowed her eyes, "And then I realized that I've never felt attracted to anyone before. I've never had a crush on anyone, for example. I don't think I'm capable of feeling warm and fuzzy, or all those other things described by people in love. Infatuation. Whatever. Maybe I'm just incapable of it. But nobody had never given me so much internal grief over it before. If you were someone else, I would have shrugged it off ages ago."
She looked more and more irritated as she went on, one hand propped on her waist while gesturing with her other hand, "So maybe you're special. But understand that I will probably never make you feel warm and fuzzy and all that other s**t, so being with me will be like going to the kitchen expecting to grab a bat of chocolate, only to realize that you had gotten lost and wandered into the twelve plane of torment instead."
