Aisha moved silently through the odd home she found herself now belonging to. It was hard for her to relax. Both Cyrus and Elora seemed nice enough, but it wouldn't last. She would do something wrong and they would show their true colors. She was certain of this. So she tried extra to be certain that she didn't make a single wrong move. They were different from the others she had served and she feared them on a different level from the fear she had held towards the other people that had been in her life.
Slipping under a fallen beam across a door, she crawled on her hands and knees into an upstairs bedroom. It was utterly wrecked, but she could see it had once been beautiful. Looking around, she slowly began to crawl further until she came to an old vanity listing off to the side. Its mirror was gone and one of its legs had broken off, but despite its weathered condition, it seemed to still be rather nice. Pulling open one of the drawers with a bit of a struggle, she blinked when she saw what was inside. There were jewels of all colors and qualities. Picking up a dusty bracelet, she blew on it gently and admired it a moment. Setting it back in the draw she dug further until she came across an odd necklace. It was simple and it looked like a rose made up of clockwork gears. It was beautiful, she thought. Pocketing it, she looked around a little longer, then slowly eased her way out of the old room.
Wandering back downstairs carefully on the old staircase, she went to the living area and gave Elora a nervous smile. "Is there anything I can get for you?" she asked, brushing at the dust on her skirts.

Elora had been dozing, there was not much else for her to do really. Once upon a time her life had been full and busy. There were people to greet, things to do, parties to attend. Now she was doomed to sit and wait and watch. If only she could get some use in her legs. She could work on the house, find some different clothes perhaps.
As the girl appeared she looked up and shook her head. She had heard her snooping around upstairs. "No, thank you. What were you doing up there." She asked, looking to the ceiling.

Ai smiled nervously and followed her eyes up to the ceiling above her. "I... was just looking around. Seeing what was up there. Am I not supposed to?" she asked, turning her eyes back to the unusual woman. She still had not figured out what was wrong with her and fear kept her from asking. All she knew was she was supposed to look after her while Cyrus was searching their surroundings.

Elora looked up once more to the hole where the chandelir had been. "It might not be safe." She replied, "And there is nothing up there for you, nothing that concerns you." Elora turned her eyes back to the girl. "What did you find?"

Ai chewed nervously on her lip and she looked up at the ceiling again. "I found a dresser with some jewels and things in it. They were pretty," she smiled a little. "Um... I found this too," she admitted and stepped forward as she dug in her pocket. "I thought it was real pretty," she said, lifting the necklace out and holding it out to her. "I've never seen anything like it before."

"Yes, this place is filled with precious jewels, and beautiful clothes. It was once filled with beautiful women too. Beautiful everything." Elora looked down at the necklace and reached out slowly to touch it. "That was mine." She said softly, one of her oldest posessions. She did not know where it had come from, only that she had always had it. "Were you going to steal it?" She smirked a little. "What would you do with it?"

Aisha watched her as she reached for the necklace in her hand. Her question caused her to look up sharply and shake her head. "No... I just... I just wanted to look at it some more. It's so pretty," she replied. "I wouldn't have any use for it. I would never want to sell it or nothing." Not that there was anyone to sell it to. But still, she knew it was wrong to steal unless if there was a need to feed herself and right now, she didn't need to worry about that.

"Keep it." Elora said after some thought. She really had no use for it, it was not even sentimental really. The reason it was in that drawer was because she hardly wore it. "I think you will appreciate it more than I ever did." She gave a half smile and looked up again. "That must be my room you were in. Can you get me those things? The jewelry, clothes, anything that might be up there."

Ai's eyes opened wide at her offer. She hadn't been given anything in a very, very long time. Reaching out, she carefully lifted it from her hand and studied it a moment. As she went on, she looked up and smiled rather broadly. "I sure can. It might take me a few trips, but I can bring everything that's not too old," she nodded. "Here. You hold onto this for me and I will return," she smiled warmly and handed the necklace back before turning and hurrying out of the room. She was more than glad to have a task to handle.
A few hours later, there was a rather large pile of things in the middle of the living space. She had searched every nook and cranny that she was safely able and had brought everything that was salvageable down for Elora. She had even gotten into one of the other rooms to do the same.
"I found some more dresses," she declared as she set an armful of cloth on the pile and paused to wipe her brow. "I'm not sure if I'll be able to get into any of the other rooms. I can look though if you'd like?"

Elora smiled as she watched the pile grow and grow. Of course she was a materialistic person, she'd had nothing to comfort her but her jewels and dresses. There would be a fortune worth infront of them. All her favourites, shades of pinks and reds and lilacs and blues. Silver backed hairbrushes, hairpins, clips, combs, jewelry.
"No, this will be fine. Thank you." She replied, looking at the pile. "Do you think you would be able to help me dress in one, I can give Cyrus a nice surprise when he returns."

Aisha smiled at her approval and reached up to brush some dust and cobwebs from her hair. She had never seen so much finery before. She must have been a very fine woman at one time, she decided. Her request drew her eyes up to her and she smiled some more. "Oh yes! I can help you with that. Does Cyrus miss seeing all these pretty things?" she asked, kneeling down and starting to sort through the pile, setting her favourites off to the side very gently.

"I don't know. Perhaps he does, I don't like that he has to see me not wearing beautiful things. I always put so much effort into everything." She smiled thoughtfully and reached out to touch some of the rich fabric. "I would like to look beautiful once more. I cannot do much else but maybe I can do that."

Ai looked up at her with a bit of a puzzled expression. "You don't think you are beautiful now?" she asked and searched her face a moment. "I think you are very beautiful. I've never seen anyone that looks like you," she smiled and finished sorting out the clothes. "I really like these," she declared as she pointed to the pile of her favourites. "Which one would you like to wear? I will wash it for you and then help you into it."

"You do?" She smiled and looked down at the pile. "You are quite pretty too, your hair is a beautiful colour. You may choose a dress if you like, for yourself. There may be one that fits, I think it would be more fitting than those clothes you are wearing." She shrugged her shoulder. "I think that blue one there."

Aisha looked up and smiled a little. She hadn't been told she was pretty since she last saw her mother. Blushing lightly, she looked down at the clothes that were little better than rags on her then to the pretty dresses. She'd never worn anything like them before. They would have been impractical in her homeland and the gypsies and Maksym had just given her scrounged up bits of cloth. Looking to the blue one she pointed out, she smiled warmly and reached out to pick it up. "I like this one a lot. It matches your eyes," she smiled warmly and looked up at her. Picking out the simplest one for herself, she stood with both dresses in her arms. "I will just wash these and then I will help you."
