Another day, another dollar. It didn't take too long for Richard Moreau to get back to his feet after his recent ordeals- all he needed was a good, 16 hour sleep, a good breakfast, and a nagging new roommate to get him back to his feet (though he was quite fortunate that his new roommate was once a trained EMT). He had taken the day off as a precaution, mostly to get things tidied up and moving some items around to make room for his new addition, and by the time he finally finished the task (and the two were quite sick of each other), he powered up and took to the streets.

This time, he was prepared for the seemingly rogue Mirror Wraiths, and he made sure to remember what they felt like, as he powered up into Lieutenant Buddingtonite, dashing and ever so charming agent of the Infiltration branch. Self proclaimed, of course. Tonight, he was doing his best to avoid any signs of trouble, and that included Mirror Wraiths, Senshi, and Knights. He wasn't there to pick a fight- going against not one but TWO Mirror Wraiths in a single night had completely killed all notion of the word 'trouble' for the lieutenant, which meant that his main focus should go back to looking for new recruits for the Negaverse.

"General Benitoite said to start small, and small I shall start," said Buddingtonite to his pinwheel, giving his little trinket a playful flick before moving into position. His talk with Benitoite was certainly an enlightening one and if anything, it renewed his interest in the Negaverse and his branch. He wanted to bring him worthy recruits, and if it meant to start off small, than he'd find as way to make it work. His recent encounters with Mirror Wraith, though painful and downright humiliating, had given him an idea, and he was grateful for the bruises and cuts he had suffered at the hands of his fights with them, as well as Senshi from before. It made the way he hunched over and dragged his foot all the more convincing, as he neared an arcade. "Perhaps I can lure them in with sympathy points? They'd have to be heartless to leave a poor, injured man like myself alone to fend for himself..."

Not that it would have surprised him in the least if they had, but it was worth a shot. Anything to get a new recruit added to his resume... he laid out the bait, as he stumbled across the street, looking weak and injured. All he needed were the little fishies to give him a nibble...

Chiku had been more than happy when some of her classmates had asked her to join them at the arcade after school. They'd played games, traded stories while waiting to play games, grabbed dinner from a fast food joint, then played more games. One by one, they all started to trickle out. And Chiku was the last of them to do so. She'd plunked her headphones on, grabbed her backpack from the front counter, and headed out.

She hadn't been expecting to run across someone that looked like...well, he'd gotten his butt handed to him. Chiku pulled her headphones down around her neck, hitting pause, and moved over to the guy. If he was looking for sympathy points, he was definitely getting them.

"Dude, are you okay? I mean...you don't look okay, but..." And the words were followed by a worried noise.

It seemed that the bait he set out had lured a little mouse out, and Buddingtonite had to bite his lip to stop himself from smiling at his own success. Not that he thought ill of the girl that was coming to his rescue, of course, but it was always good to see his hard work and planning would pay off. Now, it was time to see if his acting was any good after all these years...

"Oh... finally, someone!" Buddingtonite said, his voice weak and breathless, as he continued to hold his side, and he dropped down to one knee, simply overcome with 'relief' at the sight of someone else being there to help him. "I was worried... streets surprisingly empty at this time of night... afraid she was going to come back!"

He took in his would-be helper's appearance and though she was young, it did nothing to detract from her beauty, as well as the concern he saw in her bright, lime green eyes. He'd worry about her appearance later, for now, he had to continue his act, and he looked behind him, as if looking for any signs of a would be assailant that may have been following him. "It's not safe... they're out tonight... who knows when she'll come back around."

Of course, rotten luck on his end would actually bring one of them or a knight here, but he wasn't feeling any of them nearby just yet. The moment he did, though, he'd likely drop the act, take the young girl, and flee to a safer spot. As much as he was trying to trick her, he wasn't willing to risk her getting hurt, nor the enemy to recruit another into their ranks.

His acting definitely caught the normally-hyper girl up. She didn't suspect at all that he might be faking it. "Well...it is a weeknight. People are usually home instead of out..." She moved to try offering him some support, despite her small (tiny) frame. "Who's out? Who's she?" Her cheeks puffed out as she got an angry look on her face.

"You should go to the police if someone attacked you." After all, the police existed to help, right? They were the good guys when people turned to breaking the law.

Buddingtonite accepted her help with little question, and it took much for him to keep his arm at an acceptable angle. Any lower or higher and he'd be touching something he had no business touching, and while normally he wouldn't have minded a harmless little feel, she was young. Much too young! He didn't want onlookers thinking he was doing something naughty.

Besides misleading her a little, but then again, was he really? He may have been exaggerating his injuries, and he might have left out just how long ago the actual attack was, but at least it wasn't that he was completely lying. It was a Senshi that did all of this to him...

"One of them... a Senshi," Buddingtonite said, doing his best to keep in step with her while keeping his act up. His old bruises were still causing trouble, but Chiku's grip didn't agitate any of them, thankfully. Even if it would have aided his careful act, he wasn't eager to feel anymore pain anytime soon. "The police can't do much against the likes of them, I'm afraid... I'd hate to see what they'd do to them if they tried stepping in! We're having enough trouble keeping them at bay as it is..."

Senshi? That word sounded like something out of a Japanese cartoon or video game. But...the way the guy talked, it didn't SOUND fake. But...someone the police couldn't go up against? "Who...who's we? And there's a bench nearby, if you want to sit..." Oh geez. Of course she ran into someone who needed help before she could take a first aid class. "Uhm...would calling EMS be okay? Or is there someone I could call for you? Or uhm...sorry, I'm not really sure what to do, but I don't want to leave you alone and hurt!" She was trying, though! She'd just never had to help someone injured before.

Or someone being chased by something the police couldn't help with. Maybe these 'Senshi' were some sort of super-gang? THAT was a terrifying thought!

In truth he wasn't expecting to be this convincing, which either meant that he was a much better performer than he originally thought, or this young woman was the perfect audience. Not one to question his luck, at least when it was good, Buddingtonite carried on the act, allowing her to help move him towards the bench as he explained. "We... are a secret organization, much smaller than our enemy, but growing each day. To lead the resistance against the Senshi and protect this city... no, this world."

With her assistance, they made it to the bench, and he shook his head in response to her offer. "No, no EMS... I'm already risking luring you into danger, anymore and I may not be able to protect you all."

Of course, if a Senshi were to randomly spring up and try to attack, he'd at least drop the act long enough to get her to safety then act his way out of it. Say it was a random spurt of adrenaline that got him going. He'd work around that if he needed to, but for now he had to keep on track with his captive audience. "My dear, I am... sorry. Just by you helping me here, I may have pulled you into this war. I know of one way to help, but... it would be putting your fate in your own hands."

He had to play this right. He stopped there, giving her a little tease and wanting her to wish for him to continue. It had to be her choice, General Benitoite said. And he'd give her a chance to decide for herself...

A secret organization. While most might think 'gang' right off the bat, Chiku wasn't one of those. There had been secret organizations in the past that did GOOD, and in a way there was one very public one nowadays...that one hacker group. And really...he sounded sincere enough. That he didn't want EMS made her worry grow, though. She didn't know first aid! She barely knew how to wrap sprains, and that was only because she'd sprained her own ankles and knees enough times.

"No EMS, okay." Okay. Calm. She needed to keep calm. And he was still talking, and didn't seem to be panicking on his own, so...That was good, right? His words had her...curious and thinking. What was he talking about? "What...do you mean? My own fate?" Did she do something impulsive and stupid? She hoped not. He seemed like a really nice guy!

Which had her looking around, trying to spot anything that seemed...'weird'. She didn't feel like getting ganged up on by these 'Senshi' people!

"It's a little complicated, but... let us get someplace safe first. I'll explain as much as I can..." Buddingtonite had taken the opportunity to dangle the prize above her nose before pulling it away, and he couldn't deny the curiosity he saw in her. He was used to enticing women, though this one was much younger than what he'd usually go for, and his reasoning for spiriting her away was far more noble than his usually endeavors.

He kept his grip on her soft, but needy, though it was deceptively protective. If a Senshi did try to jump them, he'd simply use that to aid in his quest. He'd take her to safety and use the Senshi's own tactics against them, if need be.

He half leaned, half guided her towards safety, as he explained. "You see, this war going on... it has a habit of taking unsuspecting victims and pulling them in to the wrong side. If you don't take a stand, you'll either end up their victim, or... worse, one of them."

Well...at least he was willing to explain. Information was good. The more she had, the better a choice she could make. And the way he was talking...she was going to need all the information she could get.

He seemed to have an idea of where might be 'safe', so let him lead while still supporting him and humming under her breath so it wasn't so QUIET, rather glad she was used to being so much smaller than most of the people she knew. Her bright green eyes stayed alert, looking around. On one hand, it was rather deserted today, the area. That made it easier to spot a possible threat like what this man spoke of. On the other...it also made them easier to spot if trouble came knocking.

When the man started speaking, Chiku listened, her humming stopping in a split second. "War..." War was a nasty thing. She'd read about war a lot. And the GMs she'd had NEVER sugarcoated the event in campaigns. "How do you take a stand, though? Especially someone like me? I mean...I'm still in high school. I can't even vote yet." Which, honestly, annoyed her. But that was another topic, and she needed to focus on the one at hand.

"War... yes, a dirty, three letter word that can, and will, change everything within a matter of seconds," Buddingtonite said, stressing that world and speaking of it with some disdain, though not all of it was true. To him, war could be both repulsive, yet exhilarating, but he didn't wish for the young girl to think him mad or a warmonger. Mad, perhaps, but who wasn't in this city?

This city was crawling with youma, out of control Mirror Wraiths, and powered individuals of every shape, color, and oddity. The only sane move... was to move away.

When she asked him how to take a stand, he replied with earnest, finding a place in the alley to sit and relieve the poor girl's shoulders and back from his weight. "Take a stand by refusing to believe in their lies. If you see one, flee, immediately. Some might try to lure you in, trick you into becoming one of them... I've not seen it yet, but I've heard of it. Who knows how many they've trapped in their little web, or how much damage they've already done."

Then, he gave another suggestion, one that he showed some favoritism to, and it was hard to keep the act up and not smile. "Or... you could join the fight. As one of us, an officer of the Negaverse. We are few, but strong... well, most of us. Fighting isn't so much my strong point... as you can plainly see."

The gears in Chiku's head were turning, the part of her that thrived when playing RPGs working. When he sat, she was rather thankful for it, rolling her shoulders a bit to make sure nothing kinked or knotted. The thought of anyone getting tricked into anything...it was terrifying, really. Especially getting tricked into being...a villain of some sort. Chiku LIKED people, and she almost never wished ill on anyone beyond getting tripped or something, even the people she didn't like. (There were exceptions, of course.)

His suggestions were each thought over, weighed. He was talking, so she could focus her thoughts without that CHILL that came with silence. She could definitely run. She was rather quick on her feet. And then he gave another idea.

Chiku's bright green eyes blinked, and she couldn't help but lean towards that idea. She'd been playing RPGs often enough that...well, one couldn't help but dream of being the hero sometimes. Not just roleplaying it out, but actually BEING the one doing the great deeds. Saving the kids, slaying the villains. But there was one problem: she seriously did not know how to fight beyond some very basic self-defense. But the idea was tempting. Very tempting. Especially if she could help keep someone from getting hurt again or ever or keep them from getting tricked into something they'd regret.

"I will definitely run if I can, if you can tell me how to identify them. And I definitely won't believe their lies." She couldn't help but frown. "I need a little time to decide if I want to join the fight beyond that, though. I'm not a fighter either. And I still live with my parents." There was a tone to her voice that said she was seriously considering it, though. "But I want to help."

"They're easy to spot, these Senshi," Buddingtonite said, pleased with himself that he had managed to capture the young girl's interest. Even if he couldn't bring her into the Rift with him tonight, even if she ended up simply not joining their cause, the fact that he had managed to convince her to stay away from the Senshi and their knight allies was a victory in itself, was it not? "Most of them will wear an attire, much like a sailor suit, with varying in assorted design, to fit whatever sphere in which they draw their power from."

It made him wonder exactly how many of these Senshi there were if they could draw power from anything. Could there been a Senshi of, say, Stomach Bugs? Or hair? Or perhaps Intestinal Worms? He pitied whichever poor sap that would be the lord of such a horrid sphere, and he pitied the fool that would be the victim of such an attack... it was enough to make him wince and shudder, pulling his mind off of the topic before his imagination could get the better of him.

"They have magic at their disposal and believe me when I tell you that most won't have a problem using it against you, should they have the desire," Buddingtonite further warned, using his own experiences to help drive the point home. "I've been a victim of their attacks one too many times now, and trust me... they care not for the effect it has on others. I swore a few cackled while I was at their mercy... it's about what I'd expect from their villainy."

He didn't think ill of her admittance to needing more time, and he was willing to give that to her. He didn't wish to drag this out too long, in risk of slipping up on his act or one of his enemy to catch up on them. While pulling her out of harm's way would have been beneficial in winning her over, he didn't want to risk himself or her getting hurt from this. "I understand, needing time. Everyone deserves the chance to think about it, to be a teen and do teenage things. Savor that time and use it to think about this... because you never know when the decision will be forced upon you."

He then realized something very important, and he gave a breathless chuckle. "I don't think I ever got your name, rescuer. I am Buddingtonite."

Das Tor

A sailor suit? Woooow. Even she had better sense of fashion than that! She took a deep breath, listening still, and an expression that was a mix of horror and anger flashed across her face. No problem using their power against normal people? Had they never heard of Spiderman?! 'With great power comes great responsibility'!

"Against kids? Would they even use their powers against kids?" She wasn't the motherliest of people, and was considered pretty childish by others herself, but...KIDS. They were the universal indicator of the moral event horizon! You just...didn't hurt them! She took a deep breath in to try calming herself, nodding at his words about being a teen.

"Chiku. M'name's Chiku. It's nice to meet you, Buddingtonite!" Odd name, really. But if he was helping protect the city...well, it was possible it was a code name, too. That was okay!

"Kids… are their worst victims," Buddingtonite said, using whatever knowledge he had on hand to seal the deal. Thus far, everything was going just splendidly, and he just had to keep his game up for a little while longer. If he could not bring her in tonight, he'd at least make sure the seed was left in the most fertile of soils. "Not only are children often their targets, but they enlist them into their ranks… as children soldiers. I'm not sure if they're being brainwashed, or lured and tricked, but they force us to fight them."

Not that he had fought a Chibi senshi yet, but with any luck, he'd keep it that way. Still, he had to put on a good show for the girl and if that didn't work, then he wasn't sure what would. Children were always the best fodder, he found.

"A pleasure to meet you, Chiku… please, I cannot force a decision upon you, and I won't. I'm not a Senshi of the White Moon, I'm better than that. I merely ask that you protect yourself from them, by any means necessary," said Buddingtonite, giving her a pleading smile as he pulled himself away from her, pretending to steady himself and holding his side, keeping the act up for a little while longer. "Take care of yourself, Chiku. If you should ever need me, or anyone in the Negaverse, never hesitate to call. I will not allow them to have you, or anyone in this city."

Buddingtonite gave the young woman a bow, before turning away to leave. Only when he was completely turned away did he allow for a smile to grace his features. Would it be enough? Only time could tell...
