Rep could find his way to the training grounds in the dark, it was the place where he had spent the most time since he'd arrived on the island over a year ago and where many of his highest and lowest points had played out. Lately he hadn't been allowed to spar with Tracey out, but that hadn't prevented him from keeping in shape versus the dummies.
"Right, training area." he said "Whatever happens here is allowed to happen here. You get into a fight here, no one's going to re-pod you for it. It's expected and a given. You don't watch what you are doing, people will get hurt or you will get hurt. Tell your opponent when your shield is low - your weapon will know when that is."
He led them to the dummies and stood by.
"So. First things first. Your weapon itself. It's obviously not like a normal weapon, it's alive and can talk, but it is also special in more ways than that. You can summon it and desummon it at will. When its desummoned it will have a totem form. Tracey - my weapon, is these earrings." he gestured to the earrings at the top of his ear. "Have you desummoned your staff yet?"

Al followed close behind, mentally oohing and ahhing at the dummies as they approached. Some of which appeared to have seen better times, which lead one to wonder just how powerful the hits were to begin with... He listened about the shield thing and nodded, though he didn't truly understand yet. How could he? Only shielding Nuru has done so far was failingly against Rep. Oh oh wait, a question? "Have I what?"

Rep reigned back his quick fire pace to slow down, determined that Al would figure these things out. He'd not been enormously fast on the uptake himself. "De-summoning. It's where you send your weapon away so you can bring it back when you have to."
He gave Al a critical look. "Go on, try it. Your weapon will know what to do."

"He will?" Al held Nuru up in a fist and stared at him. Okay.. uh... desummon! Nothing happened. Al gave Rep a hopeless look before turning the look back on Nuru. Common... you're embarrassing me here. He wigged the stick, "Dessummonnnnnnnn- NOW!" Staff wiggle. He looked back to Rep again. "He won't do it?"

"He should." Rep said, making a face at the staff's lack of co-operation. "Its not like a magic word. You just simply do it. Its like...moving your arm. You think it, and it happens. Keep trying."

Al moved his arms about wildly with a baffled look on his face. Desperate to make it work before suddenly...
Al froze mid arm movements.
Oh. Al looked relieved before sighing softly. Please desummon.
And with that the weapon seemed to glow, melt, shift and settle. The collar-like bracelet clasped possessively around Al's wrist, but the soft black fur lining the inside was of comfort. "Hm. Is that good?" He held his hand up to Rep for inspection.

Rep nodded approvingly. "Just like that. Good stuff man." He wasn't entirely sure why the collar looked familiar to him, but he didn't press it for the time being, he'd probably just seen a lot of collars in his time, for whatever reason. "It's handy it's one you won't lose too, just remember even if you lose the totem your weapon is bound in your mind, you can still resummon your weapon from afar and then dismiss him to retrieve it."
"So. Weapons. They are made of fear. Which is like an energy born of human fears. Sounds bullshitty when you first get here, believe me, it's not at all. Our weapons though are different than the s**t we hunt, those things we fight are made up of that energy. Our weapons eat it and can use it. Sounds complicated, it's not really."
He smirked. "I'll show you thought how uncomplicated it is. Hit me. Hard as you can. Don't worry, it won't hurt much."

Al looked pleased as all get out that Rep hadn't mocked his bracelet. Nodding along eagerly to everything Rep said. He was pumped. Then... not so pumped. He didn't want to hit Rep, "But..."

Deep breath Al, you can do this... He resummoned Nuru to his hands and took a swing in Reps direction, hoping to not piss the man off too much.

"Good!" Rep clapped his hands approvingly, the staff had actually made a good clean hit, this guy had potential. "Right that will be your first charge. As a rule of thumb it normally takes round about three good strong hits to get a full charge up. So hit me again, twice more and we'll see about a charge!"

Al got really excited at the encouragement, excited enough to hit twice as hard as last time as he lashed out with Nuru, teeth first.
Al paused to give Nuru a very funny look that carried over to Rep, "He likes it?"

Rep only seemed to get more enthusiastic the more he was struck, nodding as Al really got into the swing of things.

Al was still into it though his next hit was a mere glancing blow, "Like that?" The less Rep seemed hurt, the more Al was into the whole thing.
