Ivan stretched, letting out a groan as he heard his back crackle and pop in protest. Another long day in the healing tent and his energy, both magical and physical, was drained. Still, every patient had pulled through today, a rare feat, and deep under all the weariness, the cat was happy about that. Right now, though, he wanted food, company, and sleep. In that order. Tail nearly dragging through the dirt, Ivan made his way towards the mess tent.
Grabbing dinner, Ivan looked around for a free seat, spotting one across from a prismatic female. He practically fell into the seat, smiling tiredly at the gal across the table from him tilting his head just a bit so he could look at her from behind the sutra on his head. "Hello. You don't mind if I sit here, do you?"

Cadence blinked then smiled at the male. "No I don't mind one bit." She picked up the fish using her telekinesis so she wouldn't get her paws dirty. and nibbled at the fish. She put the fish down again and looked at the male. "I haven't seen you around, My name is Cadence Ellias, what might be your name?"

Ivan watched in interest as the fish floated up off the plate and then back down. Glancing back up at Cadence, he grinned. "Wow, that must be a useful power." He said, appreciatively. He banished the flames around his paws and scooped up his chicken, not being nearly as delicate an eater as his companion.
Placing what was left back on his plate, he resumed the conversation. "I'm Ivan Svetit'sya, and it's probably a good thing you haven't seen me before. I'm a healer that specializes in severe cases." Ivan shook his head tiredly before smiling again, "It's very nice to meet you, Cadence."

"It's very nice to meet you Ivan, a healer? So interesting, you must be very strong" Cadence once again picked up the fish and nibbled some more, then placed it back down. "It is useful, don't have to get your paws dirty in fighting as well with eating."
"But my family were not happy with my powers, thought that i was sinning, that I was a devil child. Made my life a living hell. Had to run away to get away from the abuse. I was just a kit so it was very scary on my own, but I made it. I bet my family were happy I left, because I was a big burden on them...." She sighed then picked up the fish again to nibble on it.

“Thank you. At the end of the day, though I feel more worn out than strong; healing takes a lot out of me.” Feeling much better now that he was getting some food in his system, he grinned. “Not only do they keep your paws clean, but I bet they help keep you a pretty safe distance from your opponent as well.”
Talk of her family made Ivan frown in disbelief and anger. ‘Devil child’? Really? “That’s atrocious. Being so closed minded about your child’s abilities, especially helpful ones. I’m sorry you had to go through that, Cadence. I’m glad you got away from them; you made it on your own because you never needed people like that.”

"Yes, I am very far away from the enemy, I honestly don't know how far I could be, but what I try is at least at least a yard away, no splatter on me then. I was trained to be unforgivable to the enemy because they wouldn't think twice to get me, so I have to get my soul dirty. I have to beg for forgiveness when I'm falling asleep, I feel killing is a sin, but I don't know why. I mean as I said They wouldn't spare my life.
My family detested me, I'm glad I got away too, My mom probably would have sacrificed me or gave me away, I dunno, they were very hateful people. I couldn't even tell you where I came from because I just ran all night and all day until I came here. And I was accepted and cared for. I don't have parents, but I have team mates and that can be just as good.... I think??"
She brought up the fish again and finished it, then brought up her drink and sipped out of it. "I was also taught to spell cast, nothing fancy or anything, but that's why I have this bell on my paw." She raised her paw and shook her paw.
"My most common spell would be to attract love, I know it is girly, but I have led a very lonely life and I dream of a family, maybe when the war is over." She giggled at herself, why was she talking so much personal stuff? Maybe because guys usually only talk to her to get her to sleep with her. Oh well, if she scares him away from talking to him, then he wasn't meant to be her friend.

Ivan nodded, understanding perfectly what she was saying. "War is Hell, that's really the only description for it. I don't always go on the battlefield, but when I do I feel that same guilt. Worse, I carry it with me into the healer's tent. I can't save everyone who comes to my table, and it eats at me sometimes. I channel that anger at the enemy, but that just means I send them to their healer, and feel guilty about that." He shook his head wearily, "it's a vicious cycle."
"My family was always supportive of my magic, but I wasn't the only one who had the ability. But yes, I agree with you. Teammates not only can be just as good, they can be better. Sometimes your family are the ones you choose yourself." Ivan said kindly, smiling at Cadence. He hoped she found people to love her, no one should be left alone their whole life.
"I don't think it's girly, I think it's perfectly natural to want to find someone to love you and love in return. I know I want that for myself. Leave the war, fall in love, raise a family in peace." Ivan grinned. "That's what keeps me going through this war, thinking of what I will do once it ends."

"A family, far away from here, this war...... I think sometimes it will never end, why don't both sides just give up, it is tiresome..." She always wanted to be a mother, have little kits of her own. Maybe they would get her powers? She could train them, but not to fight! When she starts a family, if will be in a free land, no blood shed, just love.
"It must have been nice to have siblings that had things in common. Now that I think about it, I bet people had telekinetic powers, just hid it in my family, had to of. It's not something that pops outta nowhere from what I have learned." She thought about it. "If my family weren't so ignorant to the idea, I'm sure they would have grasped it, I mean it is very handy!" She brought her cup back to her mouth, taking a big unladylike gulp.
She giggled. "Sometimes I am not so lady like, I have abit of tomboy in me, which is alot of fun, I mean I am girly, that will never change, I mean look at my bow. But I like fun things, reading, wrestling." She leaned her head on her paw. "I know how to fight, really good, they wouldn't let me out there if I couldn't, but I prefer playful wrestling. Do you like to play around like that?"

"We have to keep them out of our lands. Keep them from harming the people who cannot fight so that they, and we, can raise families in peace." Ivan sighed heavily and pushed his empty plate away. "The sooner the enemy forces leave, the better. If the army plans to follow them, I plan to resign. I will defend my country, but I wont be chasing them back into theirs." That was too much to ask Ivan, he preferred peace to violence as a general rule, but he couldn't stand by when others were getting attacked. He was getting more and more tired of the fighting, though.
Thinking of his family brought a warm smile to his face. "It was fun growing up with my brother and sister. My brother specializes in ice, my sister in wind. Both are..." Ivan trailed off, trying to think of the right phrase. They weren't better per say, after all he had more variety with his fire. "...hmm. They can bring their magic about easier than I can."
"Magic ability definitely doesn't come out of nowhere, and it's a shame your birth family was so closed minded. It really isn't any different than affinity with a musical instrument or art medium." Ivan smiled when Cadence giggled, liking the soothing sound. "I do like to wrestle in play. I always stalked, pounced, and wrestled with my siblings. Honestly, we may be adults now, but we haven't stopped acting like a bunch of kits when we're together." He laughed, just thinking about how he and his siblings acted.

Cadence smiled. "We should have a wrestling match, betcha I will win!" She had a huge smile on her face now. "It has been awhile since I have play wrestled, I don't want to hurt you either, I'm pretty tough." She wondered about something. "Oh no using powers, that would be unfair....to you." She giggled again, teasing him was fun. Cadence looked at Ivan thinking he had pretty eyes.
"I'd like to see your fire sometime, so it is alot of work?" She picked up her glass with her telekinesis, took a long sip then placed it down again. "Mine isn't hard to use, it was in the beginning, but I guess you just get used to using it, like working out makes muscles stronger." She looked down at her paws again.
"I'm usually really shy, I don't know why I'm so talkative. It feels natural though, you are really a good guy to get me out of my shell, thank you very much." She smiled at him. Cadence was really happy to be having a real conversation that wasn't with her Sensei.

“Oh, you’ll win, will you? I don’t know about that.” Ivan teased back. “Then again, it’ll be more chivalrous of me to allow you to win, don’t you think?” He laughed, glad to see such a large smile; she was pretty when she smiled. “No powers? Oh, well you’ll definitely win that way.”
Ivan shook his head, “No, my fire isn’t a lot of work anymore. The sutra I wear focuses my natural abilities so that I can summon my fire whenever I want now. Before I found this sutra, though, I couldn’t compress my raw talent into something usable and that took years to research.” Ivan wrinkled his nose in distaste of the memory. “And when I finally was able to summon the fire…I burned myself because I didn’t have it under control.”
“Thank you, I’m honored you feel I’m such a good guy and an acceptable person to open up to. I enjoy talking to you as well; you’re entertaining and have an excellent sense of humor.” Ivan smiled at Cadence, happy that he had been able to meet her.

"You know what's strange? I actually don't like fighting, I do it because it is what is expected of us and for our future! But deep down I want to slow down, find me a good guy and start a family, I would love to have children, to teach them and show them that no mater what that they are loved."
"I missed out on that while growing up, well I had my Sensei, He showed me love, kinda like a father figure. But no hugging, I just want to smother my children in hugs and kisses." She closed her eyes and giggled. "How pathetic I must seem, I mean I'm a warrior, I dunno, just something I hope to find....."
Well this is the second time I'm mentioning this, sorry, you just get whats on my mind out of me, I bet it would be very hard to lie to you, not that I would, unless I had to, for your safty. I don't like lying, well if it was enemy it would be like normal talking, because you have to lie to them." She felt silly for being all over the place, why was she being so dumb??
