Cooking - Jade's love for cooking didn't really blossom until her teenage years. Sure, she had helped her mom as early as she was trusted enough to hold cooking utensils on her own but because of her father's weak stomacj and stuck-in-his-ways attitude her family rarely experienced with food.
When she reached those rebellious teenage years, she started to go out more and began to try different cuisines and tastes. She began more aware of what she ate and what kind of diet she wanted to follow. Around the age of 17 (when she moved out into her own apartment) she bought her first cooking book and really started her experienmental journey with cooking.
Nowadays, she cooks almost all her meals from the freshest ingredients, refusing to touch any convience foods. Her passion to cooking led her in the culinary school and eventually to the profession of a chef.
Self-Defense - The world is a dangerous place, that Jade has learned in a hard way. After surviving with sheer luck from a possible lethal attack few years back, she decided to not count her luck anymore. She did join the rape prevention class that was held by karateka and later took some karate classes hosted by the same teacher. She regularly practices these skills at home or in gym where she sometimes spars with others. She also keeps herself in shape by doing exercises and jogging. Her fightning style is more defensive than offensive but she is capable to fight successfully againgst a regular thug if needed to.
Tea Ceremonies/Parties - When Jade was in culinary school she had a roommate that was a big fan of japanese food and customs. She invited Jade to take part to a japanese tea ceremony. Jade (who had heard only a glimpse of japanese tea ceremonies) accepted the invitation and hadn't regret it since. Relaxing scent of tea calm her mind and sophisticated atmosphere gives her feeling she is a fine lady who knows etiquette and thus fits in the group.
She prefers japanese tea ceremony the most for it's ideals for finding the perfect harmony. Probably it being her first experience in tea culture might had an affect for her favoring this ceremony. However, in her opinion the best tasting tea is served in chinese tea ceremonies.
Virtues:
Perfectionist - Everything Jade puts her mind into, she does her best in it. When she is cooking she keeps close attention to food she is preparing, reguraly tasting and fixing it when necessary and making sure it also looks good. She has got good reputation of her cooking skills. Being perfectionist also means that she pays attention to how she looks and acts like in public. She considers her words carefully and tries to remain polite as much as possible. She takes care of her body and makes sure that her outfits are tidy and approciated for the surroundings she is using them in.
Behind this virtue lies a desire to be accepted and liked by people around her. She most often succeeds in this goal as her well-thought appearance and manners give people good impression of her. In general, people tend to find it easy to start interacting with her as she doesn't appear as rude person and doesn't look repulsive or out of place.
Calm - There is little that can shake Jade. It's hard to get an angry look from her and even harder to bring tears in her eyes. Did she failed to prepare the dish right? No panic, she will try harder and get it right at the next time. Did someone insulted her on street? Not a big deal, she won't even turn her head to respond. Having calm mind comes handy when she needs to do something under pressure. She is able to keep her head cool rather well in kitchen during a rush hour. She has no tendency to panic in battle situations either.
Dedicated - When Jade has set her goal (whether it mean being the best chef in Destiny City, the best fighter in the Negaverse, the best party host in her tea party group, etc.) she will do everything she can to get there. She spends a lot of time into studying the subject and practising it. Because she is willing to focus on things that spark her interest and that she is passionate about, she is actually quite good doing those things. She is far from perfect but people tend to like her passion and efforts to reach her goals.
Flaws:
Perfectionist - While perfectionism has it's merits, it has it's flaws as well. Jade is very nit-picky about small details, sometimes even so much that it actually slows her. Should she make a mistake or face an unexpected problem, it could take minutes - sometimes even hours - for her to fix the problem or get over with it. Even tough she tries her best to prepare for surprises, things don't always go as planned. When they don't, she is stuck with the problem and finds it difficult to let the problem be if it's unfixed. This can be troublesome, especially in situations when she needs to multi-task or she doesn't really have time to spend on stuff like that.
She is her worst critic but she can be rather critical to others too. If someone doesn't meet her exceptions, in example by not taking care of their body or acting without thought, they get little respect from her. While she doesn't outright snap at those people, she might give them meaningful looks or simply just avoid their company. Thus, working with different kind of people is difficult to her at times.
Distant - It isn't easy to get to know Jade. She rarely talks about herself, her dreams or things she likes or dislikes. She is afraid to let out too much information of herself, fearing it would be used against her. She had been betrayed by the people she trusted before, what would stop that happening again? Only few selected people have earned her trust but even those people don't know her deepest secrets.
Serious - Jade is very serious girl. If she smiles, it is very small, controlled smile. If she is angry, it can be seen only from her lowered eyebrows. And her tears, she holds them until she is alone. Because she is so focused of maintaining a good public image and keeping her emotions in control she often forgets to take things easy and relax. She fears looking like a fool if she lets her emotions affect to her too much. The result ends up often herself taken as boring and unfun. It also makes her difficult to communicate with as she is rather hard to read.

Why Specs? Well, Jade is physically fit and she has some self-defense skills. She is rather calm too and not easily provoked. While she is observant, she isn't very charismatic or cunning so IntO branch might not be right branch for her. InfO even less as she is pretty much the loner type.
