At first Neena hadn't been sure why she had not yet explored the jungle - it certainly seemed an interesting place to be in, full of as yet unknown places, new plants and trees, and there seemed to be a strange, constant hum as if the very air were alive with living things, moving, feeding and flying.

A while after being there she was exhausted. The ground was hard to navigate in the green gloom, and she kept snagging herself on vines and creepers that seemingly reached out to grab hold of mane and limb. She had just stopped again to extract a leg from the curling tendrils of a vine, when a sound nearby caused her ears to flick, and her nostrils to flare. She wasn't sure what it was, and as she couldn't tell what had caused her alarm, she instead snapped at a buzzing insect and carried on walking, trying to find some sort of path.

'I just need a clearing..' she said to herself, as she meandered, slower now, being more careful. It worked, and she got caught on stuff less. She wondered if she had just entered a particularly dense area, and that somewhere round here there were more well travelled areas, and places where she could see the sky more than the flashes she had caught sight of as she had walked.

Not only would it help her walk, it would help her navigate as she was fairly sure she was lost.

'Hello?'
Here she had stopped again, sure now that she had heard someone moving. It was probably foolish to call out, but right now she would appreciate help from anyone!

The birds were screeching over head. Noises that was far too strong for his ears. He flicked them up, staring toward the creatures with sharp eyes. He was so used to the noises, the normal noises. And now, they were crying out louder than normal. He frowned at the thought, eyebrows pulling together as they shifted and flapped their large wings. What was on their mind? What were they feeling that he wasn't. He didn't know what was going on with them. Hunahpu had always enjoyed listening to the birds' songs. But today, they were just... noise. Noise that he no longer wished to listen to. He needed to figure out just what it was that was causing the small creatures to cry out in such a way; needed to figure out what foreign object was wandering within the jungle to cause them to make a riot.

The stallion moved easily through the different layers, pressing forward with ease. Where the jungle usually tried to snag and pull at his wings, it seemed to resist him today. It seemed as though they were pulling away from him instead of snagging on his large wings and sharp claws. Hunahpu glanced around somewhat, staring at the vines and tree trunks. Maybe he was just more used to the way the jungle existed now. He breathed out a sigh, before moving forward and ducked his head under a branch, horns scrapping the bottom, before he emerged on the other side, his tail giving a slight flick before he glanced around, and spotted something different moving through the jungle.

There was something shining not far off, something unfamiliar to his eyes. For a moment, he thought it may be his brother, but the silver glint proved that it wasn't. No. Xabalanque and himself had gold accessories. This was definitely different. He moved forward slowly, his claws scrapping against the floor, before he stopped to stare ahead of him. That was familiar... He had seen several different creatures lately, including mares. Now that he knew what one was. His ears swiveled some, eyes staring with curiosity toward the mare, before he flicked his long tail and tilted his head. Hunahpu took a half step forward, murmuring low in his throat. He still didn't know the common tongue, but he was easily able to try and communicate in other ways.

The surrounding jungle seemed to do weird things to noises. The approaching sounds seemed to be coming from every direction at once, and Neena's heart was hammering in her chest. She wasn't a good fighter, and she certainly had no room to take flight, so she could only stand her ground and wait for whatever was coming towards her to show itself.

When the strange looking stallion finally came into view, she let out a long breath, relief etched on her face, and she smiled at him. Though, given that she had no idea if he was friendly or not yet that would seem strange, she had just been imagining something far worse the longer the noises went on without her knowing where they were coming from, or what on earth was making them.

'Hi there.' she said, taking a moment to get a good look at the stallion. He was certainly unusual, the thick feline tail, the clawed feet and the patterned pelt gave him an interesting, exotic aspect.

Hunahpu wasn't sure what to think of the being before him. He stared for several moments, his long tail flicking at the tip. The creature was something different. It had wings coming out of every possible location. The accessories on her were bright, and gave away her position in the dangerous jungle. He blinked for a few times, before letting his wings fold tight against his body. He towered over the creature, but that was a normal for Hunahpu. He was as tall as tall could be, he was muscular and large. The stallion eventually realized she had spoken. He blinked at her, ears swiveling for a moment, before his head cocked to the side.

What had she just said? He frowned some, before shifting a little bit, and let his body take a half step back. The stallion snorted some, his wings beating, before folding once more. Hunahpu didn't know the common tongue; he spoke an ancient language that little knew any longer. He shifted a little bit, before lowering his head some, murmuring under his breath as he watched the creature with sharp, cat like eyes.

Neena blinked, her muscles tensing just a little again as he didn't immediately reply to her greeting and even seemed to take a step back. His body language was a touch confusing to read but she had to persist with this encounter as he was the first vaguely familiar thing she had meet in this tangle of green and he looked far more part of it than she knew she was.

"Hello?" she repeated, louder than before, the end of the word going up in a questioning manner. Maybe he hadn't heard her the first time..she'd yet to meet anyone who didn't understand her speech so that had not yet even occurred to her.

"Can you help me at all? I am lost." she looked around, and gave a few shrugs of her wings, before looking back at the stallion.
"So if you could, that would be great.."
