Yeah, he's been known to do some rather stupid things. Really stupid things, actually, but he almost always managed to find a way out almost as quickly as he finds a way in. Not this time though.
Dominic, at the present, was staring down at the ground with a puzzled sort of expression. Actually, it was more like puzzled and frustrated rolled into one. In his arms was an innocent little kitten - seems he had something of a soft spot for the little critters - that managed to get itself pretty nicely stuck up in a tree. Dominic had happened across its mewing, and after making sure it was a cat and only a cat (with no hidden, dark surprises like the last cat he tried to help) he had climbed up to try and get it down.
Well, he managed to get a hold of the cat, but on his way down he was at a loss as to how he could climb down the tree while holding onto the cat. So there he sat, petting the little kitten who had cuddled up to him and started taking a little nap, pondering over his little situation.
Considering it was a park, he probably looked a little more than ridiculous.

Maybe it hadn't just been her dorm. It had seemed louder than normal, and Fleur, needing to do some serious studying after skipping a few days in favor of senshi duty, had come to the park. It was better, but she still couldn't focus as well as she would have liked to. Maybe it was the fact that the warm weather was just begging her to frolic, or maybe it was just the fact that her mind kept slipping back to things that Fleur really had no business thinking about. She managed an hour before turning back. She hadn't even left the park when something caught her eye. The guy was attractive. The kitten was adorable. She was really supposed to not be staring. Staring was bad, but, it was all she could do to not outright giggle. For a split second, she even failed at that. His expression was just so great, and the kitten just looked so happy. "Hello!" she called out cheerfully as she approached him. "Are you ok?" That was her standard response to pretty much anything confusing. She'd heard of kids getting stuck in trees trying to help cats, but she didn't expect to see someone her own age in that predicament.

A wave of relief and embarrassment washed over him as someone finally managed to see him, and a girl around his age no less, and he waved quietly and pointed down at the kitten. Not wanting to wake it, he tried to yell as quietly as possible. You know, because he thought that was possible. "More or less," he called, scratching behind the kitten's ear as he spoke. It mewed a bit, turned, and went on sleeping. "Kinda stuck though."
Well that was an understatement. In any case, now that someone was there, he could probably find a way down now. He thought on it a bit, measured the distance between the lowest branch of the tree (which he was on) and the ground, and decided that it was probably safe enough as long as the girl knew how to catch and was willing to help him out. "I could use some help, if you don't mind," the teen went on. "I'm gonna drop the kitty, and you just have to catch her, okay? She could probably land safely on her own I think, but just in case..."
He wasn't actually going to try it until the girl voiced her agreement with his plan, so he waited patiently for a reply, absentmindedly swinging his legs while he did. Worst comes to worst, she wouldn't agree and he'd stay in the tree until he could figure out another way down. He didn't have much luck with that earlier though, so he could only hope that she'd be okay with helping him out.stari_maga Apologies for the lateness. D;

"Sure, I'll help you," Fleur said, a little quieter than before. Not that the kitten seemed disturbed by any of the noise of the park, or their conversation. She was grinning very widely, as she was still making a valiant effort at not giggling and barely succeeding. She would help, though. Who was she to deny a kitten in need? Only an awful person would deny such a cry for help, even though the kitten herself didn't look that panicked. She would, later, and it wasn't like Fleur had a ton better to do. However, she didn't lift her arms to catch the kitten. "I'm not going to let you throw it at me, though." Curled up in a ball sleeping contentedly, the cat looked innocent and harmless, but it was thrown from the tree and panicked it would probabally turn into some fierce monster. Figuratively, of course. It definitely wasn't a youma or anything. " I don't really feel like having my arms shredded," she pointed out, still cheerful. "I kind of like my skin." She stood thinking for a moment. Problem solving was something she was ok at, she thought, but she was still drawing a blank. "Maybe... uh..." She turned, looking for something to stand on or something. Her schoolwork bag was with her, not that she really wanted it ruined. Hopefully it wouldn't be. She didn't have any better ideas. Holding it above her head, she asked, "Can you reach this?" She couldn't really see up in the tree while holding the bag. "If you can put her gently on it, do that, but don't throw her or anything! If you can't, tell me. I'll try to figure something else out." Not that she could think of anything else easy to try. Maybe getting more people, or probabally a ladder like in all those storybooks. She didn't have any idea where to find a ladder, though, so... She waited to see if the kitten would be put on the bag or not.

As soon as the word "sure" left her mouth Dominic sat upright, managing to rouse the kitten in the process, and smiled brightly at her. As he was about to grab the kitten though, she disagreed with his plan. He considered her hesitation with it and laughed at the relatively amusing picture that came up in his mind. "Fair enough. And you do have nice skin, and I don't wanna be the one make you lose that," he said with a grin. The dark haired teen then considered her plan, squinting his already squinty eyes a little more as he thought about it, finally agreeing after a few minutes.
"Alright, here she comes," he said, leaning forward with the kitten safely in his grasp. Her bag wasn't too far away actually, the problem was that "dropping her gently" part, considering the bag was still pretty far below where he currently was. It also wasn't helping much that the poor kitten was wiggling and squirming, quite obviously not happy with the plan he and his newfound almost-savior had come up with. "Wait... wait...." he said, quite literally with his right arm stretched out as far as he could reach.
The kitten wasn't having any of it though, and wriggled and writhed so much that Dominic pulled her back in and let her snuggle back up to his stomach while he rolled his right shoulder, groaning in the process. "Ah, it's still too low," he called, frowning. He was already trying to think of another plan while he soothed his over-stretched muscles a bit. "Also, I don't think she was too happy with the idea of being dropped anywhere but on safe ground."

"You're sure you can't reach?" asked Fleur, trying in vain to stretch herself out just a bit more. She was already on her tiptoes with her bag practically being balanced on her fingertips. Though she couldn't see above herself, the cat didn't sound too happy, and when she didn't feel it being lowered onto her bag within a few seconds, she dropped into a sitting position with a sigh, laying the bag beside her. The thought of leaving after a polite farewell didn't even come into her mind. She considered herself part of the predicament now and wouldn't be satisfied until everyone was safely on the ground. Getting them to the ground, however, was not something she had any idea how to do. "I'm not sure," she admitted after a moment, looking up at the ridiculous pair with a very straight face. She was all business, trying hard to think of any possible solutions. "I could call someone, maybe. That would be a mess, though..." The fire department coming to the rescue was how it always worked out in those stories, but it seemed a bit ... much. "Or I could try to find a ladder, maybe, if I knew where to look..." She was pretty sure there was a maintenance shed not very far away, but, well, there were lots of problems with that idea. "Um... maybe you could put here in my bag and then climb down? No... that probabally wouldn't work. She'd probabally just get panicked, and, uh..." She replaced her business face with a smile for a second as she returned his compliment. "I kind of like your skin, too."

Dominic heaved a sigh as he scratched behind the kitten's ears yet again, getting another mew in response. The little thing was so cute he almost forgot that he was stuck in a bind because of it, but upon looking past the kitten and his gaze landing on his almost-savior down below, the teen could only sigh again. Really, he had no idea how he'd be getting down with the kitten, but he wasn't going to stop now! And, although she had the option, it seemed his newfound company wasn't going anywhere either. At that, he smiled a bit.
"Calling someone, unless that someone is a baby giant that's at least seven feet tall, probably wouldn't help all that much," he said with a laugh. Ooh, a ladder was a good idea, though if it was the ladder from a fire truck or something he'd probably never hear the end of it if one of his schoolmates saw. Yeah, that wasn't gonna happen. The raven-haired teen tried to run through a few other possibly good ideas when, almost out of nowhere, she returned his compliment.
Random, but it still got a smirk out of him. "Thanks?" was the only thing he could think to reply. He would have tried to think of something less stupid else to add on to that, but he felt the cat stir and jump out of his arms and onto the branch for a stretch. Dominic, with his brow raised, watched it and hoped that maybe it'd give him a solution of some kind..
Not that cats could talk or anything, obviously.stari_maga I was thinking you could have it jump down on its own or something? :]

Fleur took a break from her intense brainstorming to glance up at the pair and giggle. "Well, I was thinking more like professionals, but my dad's friend is 6'6"..." Not that she was going to try that plan, mostly because the was walking confidently down the branch instead of cowering in the guy's arms, and didn't look like she required the help of either giants or the fire department. When she jumped, Fleur lunged... And totally missed. She was used to Cybele's reflexes when dealing with situations like this, but it didn't end up mattering. She stumbled a, of course, but luckily didn't fall flat on her face. The kitten, on the other hand, landed with perfect grace and paused for a stretch before turning to Fleur, and blinking its huge, adorable eyes at her. She melted, of course. What choice did she have? As she scooped up the kitty, she stroked her ears and whispered, "Aww... you're a lil' cutiepie, aren't you? Mmhuu," she was looking over the cat. No guardian star, no youma fangs obviously, but no collar either, not that that was unusual. The guy in the tree was interesting enough to make her turn away from the cat, though. "Are you sure she was stuck?" she asked a bit teasingly, grinning. "Yes, you poor little baby..." After another round of petting and murmured compliments, her next comment was more serious. "She's really friendly... there's no way she's a stray."

Huh.
So maybe it wasn't stuck? Dominic watched the feline make a perfect landing, though his almost-savior wasn't quite so lucky when she tried to catch the little furball. He let out a chuckle, but called down when he saw that she kinda-sorta landed safely. Kinda-sorta. "You okay there?" he called down, slowly re-positioning himself so soon enough he was hanging from the branch upside down. The teen had done this loads of times before when he was younger, that is until one day he nearly broke his leg so he didn't climb as often...
Sure enough, in one fluid motion Dominic swung down from the branch and landed relatively safely in a heap on the ground. Hey, at least he didn't break any bones in the process; plus, he was kind of laughing. It was fun! "Not really, but it sure looked it when I was passing by." Dom straightened himself out and dusted off whatever dirt had decided to stick to him from his none-too-practiced landing, grinning. She was pretty cute, coddling the little kitten like that. Then again, even from up a tree he could tell that she was pretty. Bonus!
At her comment Dominic simply nodded. "Agreed. Haven't seen anyone looking for a lost cat, but maybe it knows its own way home?" Cats could do that too, right?

His acrobatics were enough to turn Fleur’s attention away from the kitten for more than a few seconds, and since she was watching, she had more luck dodging his somewhat graceless landing than she’d had catching the cat. Also, it meant she got to laugh at his expense, which made her feel a litte better about her own bit of stumbling. Only a little, though. Her face still felt warm, and she was still giggling a little, so she looked down at the kitten instead of him while he got up, got himself together, and spoke. The kitten wrapped her tail around Fleur’s arm and purred. Then, she glanced up at him and sort of smiled. He obviously didn’t know that much about animals, but it was ok. “Um… maybe. Animals have a good sense of direction, but there are dogs around, and lots of cars, and other big nasty monsters.” She said that last part with a huge joking smile, perhaps just a bit too lightheartedly. Then, she turned serious again. “She’s probably microchipped, though, and I have time to take her to the shelter, I think.” Her eyes had naturally drifted down to the kitty in her arms. She caught herself before she started talking to it, and looked back at him, smiling for real this time. The whole little cat saving adventure had been fun. “What’s your name, anyway? I’m Fleur.”

Since he'd nowhere near stuck that landing, he didn't mind so much that Fleur had started laughing at him. The way he saw it, they were even now; he'd laughed a bit when she'd had trouble with the cat, after all. If she'd shared her thoughts probably would have been happy to know that it'd helped ebb away a bit of her own embarrassment from earlier. Still, he watched her with the cat and reached out to pet the little thing as she gave her reply.
"I guess that's true," the teen said, his smile turning a bit lopsided. He didn't stop to think about the troubles a cat could come across on its way home. Huge nasty monsters definitely didn't occur to him to consider, though he chuckled a little at her joke. Her suggestion to take the cat to a shelter would have been by an offer to go along, but as things were he was actually already late for a date with his latest project -- yet another alarm clock "improvement" of sorts. Of course, there also some business about a mountain of homework left to be done or something, but never mind that. It almost felt like he was passing the responsibility for the cat -- even if he technically wasn't even responsible for it in the first place -- but he could stomach that feeling if it meant getting that project finished before he snuck back into bed.
"Dominic," he replied a beat later, after her introduction."I don't normally get stuck in trees, by the way," he went on, then returned her bright smile with one of his own. "But this was kinda fun." Which was true, and a part of him really wanted to go with her, see if they'd still be having fun along the way. Alas, the teen actually had a modicum of responsibility when it came to his projects, so there was little to be done about that. With a glance at his watch Dominic heaved a sigh.
"Fun, but now I'm seriously late for something so I gotta get going. Really appreciate the help, though. I'll see you around!" and with that he started to jog toward where he left his bag and his bike, though he stopped about two steps later to turn and face her again. "Hopefully not while I'm stuck up another tree." Dom gave a laugh before giving a final wave and jogging off, for real this time.
